During Wen Kexing's childhood flashback, his father was paralysed because his 经脉 (meridian system in the body for the flow of qi) was cut. At that point, the show already hinted that the 阴阳策 (Yin Yang Manual) locked up in the 武库 (Martial Arts Chamber) could have cured him. Based on the example of Wen Kexing's father, I don't think this condition is life threatening. You don't die from it, but you do get paralysed, and that's hell of a sacrifice if you are doing it willingly. In the last episode, just before they find the Liu He Shen Gong manual, Wen Kexing found the Yin Yang Manual. He picked it up, casually saying it might turn out useful, when in fact, he was holding on to what he knew was going to be his life saver later on. After sacrificing himself to save Zhou Zishu, his meridian system was shattered and his hair turn white, but unlike his father, Wen Kexing had the Yin Yang Manual on hand to cure himself. He can cure his shattered meridian system so he is not paralysed anymore, but there's no cure for turning his white hair back to black. In the bonus episode, Deng Kuan got old. He has aged visibly, and to further highlight the passing of time to us, his son is also featured in the show. But neither Wen Kexing nor Zhou Zishu have aged. This shows they have both mastered Liu He Shen Gong like Ye Baiyi before them, and have gained immortality. Zhou Zishu managed to master it because Wen Kexing sacrificed himself to allow Zishu to master it and cure his internal injury, and Wen Kexing managed to master it because Ye Baiyi had sacrificed himself when he transferred his own Li He Shen Gong from himself to Wen Kexing (part of the reason why Ye Baiyi started to age, his immortality had started to end). They are luckier than Ye Baiyi, cos they have each other for company through the centuries of immortality. And on top of that, they are living in the 武库 (Martial Arts Chamber). I would imagine anytime they are bored, they just pick up a new martial arts manual and master it to learn something new to pass the time. As time passes, they become more and more skilled at martial arts, becoming true immortals indeed! It's not a bad way to live your life - living alongside someone you love without growing old, watching your disciple grow and being a master in his own right, learning martial arts together and sparring together whenever you feel like it. I think it's a beautiful ending for the two of them, my favourite wuxia couple, it's the ending they deserve!
I didn't really think that much of Yin Yang Ce, thank you for telling me! That's a great explanation! 😊 ZZS and WKZ are gonna be so boss after mastering all those martial arts 😂
Well said and I totally agree. And white hair WKX is hot so no need to turn it back to black 😝 I also loved the ending for our WenZhou. Imagine living forever with your soulmate. It’s really rare for other couples to get that kind of ending. And if they decided to not be immortals anymore, they can come down the mountains and turn old and die gradually like Ye Bai Yi did. That’s why I don’t understand some fans who think this ending is horrible for them, especially for ZZS. They said his dream is to travel around the world with wine in his hands for his last two/three years left in the world. But don’t they understand that he would rather live as long as he can with his soulmate if he can choose to? And that’s what he chose to at the end. He is happy being alive with the person he loves. Drinking wine and traveling will not be important to him if his lover is not there with him. He will choose WKX over wine and traveling without hesitation. And if some fans still wanted to argue that it was what ZZH said in the interview. Well I can say because he thought they will choose the bad ending where he is alive and WKX is dead for saving him. That’s why he said he rather lives out his short life traveling and tasting wine with his loved ones over that bad ending. But when he and Gong Jun learned about the HE, they were both happy about it. So you can take that as however you want. I chose to be happy with the ending, and so thankful that they gave us one where they can easily stop at the OE/BE.
At this point i want The Untamed part 2 and want this kind of ending for them too... Like being an immortal... And then 3rd i want these both couples collaboration ...wuhuuuuuuuuuu😋.. Yo my imagination running wild... Bahahahaha.
That's a very logical and detailed explanation! Thank you! I think, the ending is perfect, not only for both of them but for Jianghu world. It's very unlikely, that people in Jianghu truely accepted them as they were. After all, they were ex-leader of a notorious assassin organisation and ex-master of Ghost Valley. So, I guess, it's really a satisfying solution also for people in Jianghu, that these two highly skilled, fearless martial artists were forever trapped in that snowy, icy mountain and stayed there as gatekeepers of the Martial Arts Chamber, which also caused a series of tragedy. It's somewhat an ironic and nice twist, only these two were truly not interested in the Chamber nor being the most strongest martial artists. And they ended up becoming immortals and accessing all those resources.
My favourite argument is how ye bai yi said “as long as i am here i will not let anyone die” And also take note how Ye Bai Yi said this when Lao Wen was still unconscious. He said this to Da Wu, Cheng Ling, and Seventh Prince. However, when Lao Wen had woken up, he just then said how he could save A Xu with the cost of Lao Wen’s life. I think he lied on how Lao Wen is going to die bc he wants to see how much Lao Wen will go for his dear A Xu. Ye Bai Yi sort of wanting to test how serious and how sincere he is towards A Xu. Ye Bai Yi also knows how these two can’t survive without the other, letting A Xu live on his own with Lao Wen died will make him suffer worse than death itself and a righteous man like Ye Bai Yi won’t do something like that. Moreover, when Lao Wen agreed and said he doesn’t mind dying for A Xu, Ye Bai Yi just smiled and said “good answer”. What kind of twisted freak would be happy hearing that? He was just testing Lao Wen. He already agreed to participate in Lao Wen’s fake death propaganda and spare him from his death, why would he kill him now? . And so, I believe Lao Wen survived, though he would need a lot of time to recover before he can be back to his former self and fight with A Xu like usual. I think Ye Bai Yi will also bring Cheng Ling to visit his shifu and shishu along with checking on Lao Wen for his condition after the rescue event. They are all like family, and a family won’t hurt each other. If cheng ling is willing to sacrifice himself for his shifu, why would Ye Bai Yi let Lao Wen die for A Xu with his own hands?
@@TytheCanasian Ye Bai Yi is a good man who is also an eccentric. No one can really predict him but never in his life would he put ppl that he cherish so much into danger. I really don’t understand ppl who believe him when he said Lao Wen will die :’ )
Yes it's because of Ye Bai yi words that I believe it's a happy ending when he said "these two are destined to live together no one die before me " huhuhu 🥺🤗
@@binudoddy4425 No worries, and thanks for the compliment 😅 I can understand that ppl may have misunderstood the ending due to how rushed it is and it doesn’t give people time to even think what on earth is happening. I still remember myself just sitting there at the end credits like “what the fuck just happened, that’s it?!” 😂 I have to admit that the pacing towards the end is kinda bad. Should have been at least 40 eps instead of 36 tbh. The last 3 episodes were really rushed.
@@myownsoldier nope. xiaolian married dengkuan. actually i saw there's a theory that chengling actually was in love with guxiang but because guxiang was with wei, and she always only saw him as a younger brother, so chengling never revealed his feelings --- until he named his daughter nianxiang(missing xiang).
@@myownsoldier i finished all the episodes last night. Although it’s a happy ending, the ending was made hastily so it didn’t feel like a closure to me…. The director was lazy and just had many roles killed in the battle without explaining anything…. But i downloaded the novel and will read it soon. :)
It's a happy ending, the series followed the novel closely enough and in the novel he lived and they were happy so the extra episode makes sense in my opinion
and also the writer of the tv series actually confirmed it's a happy ending on her weibo, she said she's a huge fan of the book and kept the happy ending ...so none of that hallucination nonsense XD
It’s a happy ending through and through. They gave us a lot of hints that WKX lived. Like you said, if it was a hallucination, then the dad and son wouldn’t be able to see them fighting. On top of that, the dad said that they been fighting like this forever, which hinted that they became immortals. Cheng Ling in his original voice explaining to the disciples doesn’t make it sounds like WKX died. But because of censorship, they overdubbed it to make it sounds vague. And I believe Yei Bai Yi wouldn’t let WKX die because he knows ZZS wouldn’t survive without his soulmate. Yei Bai Yi understand the feelings clearly. Anyways, definitely a HE. Some people will see how they want to see, and there’s people who complain or dissatisfied no matter if it’s good ending or not.
@@TytheCanasian I’m happy that you enjoyed it as much as I did. It’s one of the few dramas that I fell in love with. It brought up so many emotions in me as I feel so connected with the characters especially our main leads. WOH will always be in my heart.
Totally agree. In the middle of the drama, when WKX and ZZS argue once, ZZS suddenly turned into alcoholic and ready to die once again. WKX is his sole and only reason to live. If WKX died, there is no point of living. These two are a package, two in one, can not be separated.
@@Missveechuu Yup, they are each other’s lights. They both planned to die in the drama, but changed their mind and wanted to live again after they met and fell in love.
The little girl who came to Cheng Ling's lap is his daughter. The show doesn't tell us who Cheng Ling's wife is. Gao Xiaoling married Deng Kuang. The boy shown practicing martial arts on the snow mountain is the son of Gao Xiaoling and Deng Kuang's child. I hope I clear it up for you :)
Likewise, the ending on Netflix aggravated me. I was like, "Seriously? Bad editing ending?" Now, seeing this epilogue, it makes total sense: they became divine.
Freaking hell, this series tried to kill WKX in front of our eyes 3 times!!! He came back in the previous 2 so I'm not gonna fall into these mf's trap for a cry fest again. He lives and WenZhou live happily ever after on the snow mountain. I'll fight anyone who say otherwise!!😭
THATS WHAT I SAID BRO I cried for a whole hour the first time he "died" then the 2nd time I was like "no way right" then the 3rd time I cried again until I looked up the actual ending cuz I was like "there has to be more" but man they know how to make me cry.
@Winter Wolf The special ending brings him back, although what exactly is going on is a little unclear. It appears they live on the mountain top together.
I'm still at Ep 34. I just wanna drop by to give a quick review. I'm not gay but I like the romance between Xu and Wen. They seem happy together and it make me happy too lol. The other interesting thing I like is the bad guys, particularly the cool and cold-blooded scorpion leader and his entourage. They should make a separate TV show just about him taking on the Jin prince and trying to become the emperor lol. It would be so awesome to see how he assassinated and scheme his way to the top after toying with it prey. The most annoying group is Ah Xiang boyfriend. That guy can't act and he's a downer. Same for the guy who have a ex girlfriend who can disguised whoever she want. Memorable mentions. Ep 19 - 20 Training the student, happy moment between the the 2 friends. Nice green scenery and underground zombies. S1 ep 26 have a nice scenery of ancient Chinese building and a mixed of beautiful Sakura plants in the 4 season manor.
Many people who read and watch BL aren't gay. Don't need to be homosexual to be happy seeing two people in love. Not sure why you're writing a review under a random comment though... There's mydramalist for that.
Accidentally hit the button on my comment im guessing, instead of the vid? Still, should be copied to the series episode or something, so the right ppl can see it. But it was delightful to read, im happy to see people enjoy nice content without being held back by stigmas pejudices and the like. Fun fact, actually most ppl who enjoy bl works arent gay. Or even male. Many are lesbians too. You dont need to be personally interested in guys to enjoy a bl story. Something that many straight guys dont understand and are afraid to approach or let ppl know they liked a bl, as if it would define them in any way.
Ye Bai Yi had transferred his immortality to Wen Ke Xing. So basically he is still alive & Zhou Xu recovered from his internal injuries. That's what I understand. I don't mind how its end as long they still together till the end 😊
I know the production of WOH is poor, even the raining scene( in episode 14 that WKX crying hard for knowing Ah Xu will die soon) they prefer waiting rainy day for filming instead of artificial rain, and cut episodes from over 40 to 36(and thanks the nuts company offer support for complete filming finally). I think that's reason why so rush for the last few episodes and they only can offer some hints to detect by us but it's so obviously WKX recoverd and live together with Ah Xu in the mountains. As YBY said he will not let anyone die . I love this drama very much and appreciate the production team, charming actors, excellent crew provide me such brilliant masterpiece(although under the low budget) . I'll continue to find more meaningful implication by rewatch it. That's so interesting and make my day.
I guess those investors who withdrawn their investment during production regret it so much at the end!🤭🤭😂😂. It's popular worldwide without their investment 😂😂🎉.
Omg now my soul can rest in peace I was so devastated because alot people were saying Lao wen died at the end and sacrifices his life to his soulmate and it did looked like it but after your explanation and the 7 min the actual final ep made more sense thankyou ✨💗😭
Agreed. It was a happy ending, just a very neat side step around Chinese censorship in the official 36 eps, and then confirmation with the extra scene. If he died, there would have been a dramatic death scene in his lover's arms. Instead, a future version of their stepson smiling mysteriously and refusing not to confirm... Plus I agree, the healing book he found, makes it clear (well, in a veiled way) that they live on.
I was seriously enchanted by this beautiful drama. The playfulness, the dedication to the romance, the story, the sets, the acting and aesthetic ... all absolutely beautiful. One of my favourite dramas of all time. Both main leads were just an absolute pleasure in every moment to watch. I believe WKX definitely survived. :)
Magic ..honour..relationship .. friendship..loyalty..commitment .. love.. respect .. sacrifice .. bonding .. eternity .. culture .. foreverness .. spirituality .. connectedness .. depth .. intuition .. understanding .. for me were all displayed by these two brilliant actors on to the screen, which of course is what the story is all about. They portrayed all these qualities in such a believable way. In their eyes, voices, body movements, the unspoken way they communicated with each other, the timing of each move. And I know this would have been directed by the director and his team .. but the actual way these 2 actors delivered all of this truly gripped me!n the rest of the cast were absolutely incredible. I've been an avid movie buff for many years and have been entertained brilliantly ... but this series .. got straight to my heart. It resonated for Me! Heartfelt thanks to the writer of this story, the director, all the hardworking people behind the scenes, and all those who contributed to the huge success of Word Of Honour. I will hold this absolutely awesome story to my heart .. Forever!
In the novel, Cao Weining waited for Gu Xiang's arrival at Naihe bridge and reincarnated hand in hand, they will renew their leading edge in the afterlife
In my theory they both ended up being immortal thanks to the help of Ye Bai Yi. He gave Lao Wen more then just some internal force, but his cultivation as well because why not? He ended up coming down from the mountin because he was lonely after ages living alone and couldn't bear the fact his beloved soulmate gave up his life just so he can live anymore. He said nothing to Lao Wen, because his immortal body already started to wither and there was no guarantee if it will work out. Why giving probably false hope. I don't think he would be in such a hurry just so he could wake the guy up and let him die the same way someone died for him. Maybe it was kind of test of his true feelings as well. Since the immortal cultivation was now part of Lao Wen's body, he was no mere human which should ended up being dead. That's how he survived even if with white hair. There's nothing about Ye Bai Yi in the end, right? The gave us summary of everyone, even Scorpion's. Also... Why would there be Ye Bai Yi words in last few seconds of the part 37? Makes sense only if at least partly my theory is right. Also don't think everything would be just A-Xu hallucination. If it was the case there would be no kid with father he don't even know. And the words said in last secs would not make a sense.
The whole drama was as you said one of the best I have ever watched. I cried for two whole days after Weining and Xiang's tragedy and then Wen dying... I could not sleep and sufered terrible migraines over this (yes, I get dragged very deep into dramas like this and their emotions become mine, so my heart felt like it literally failed me so much I experienced emotional and physical pain over ep 35 and 36... So Yes, once I heard there was a special episode it felt like I came back to life as well.. Because, I knew from small teasers I saw, this was not right, or else I had seriously been tricked!! Which made me extremely sad. And now , knowing this, that WenZhou lived happily as immortals side by side, made my life a better place. Thank you so much for your analysis, and also the videos on details missed. I am surely delighting in a sugar rush for a long while after this. Thank you again!!!!! 💜
Thank god for this happy ending 🤧 it was so sad at episode 36. Such an iconic drama of a beautiful love story of two beautiful men. Word of Honor will be a legend of its own.
Thank you for this fun video^^ I love all the important details yoi’ve pointed out, especially what Ye Baiyi and grown-up Cheng Ling. Also, it was discussed by AvenueX in her finale livestream for WoH that the kungfu routine being practiced by the boy in the transition scene is Wen Kexing’s martial arts style that he had inherited from his father. So just like Cheng Ling, there’s little doubt in my mind that that boy, who is the son of Xiao Ling (Gao Chong’s daughter) and Deng Kuan (the head disciple of Gao Chong’s sect), has at least two masters teaching him: namely, Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing, though he was practicing Wen Kexing’s martial arts that day^^
Yes! That's right, the boy was practicing 秋明十八式 (18 styles of QiuMing?) and most likely it was WKX who taught him. Thank you for reminding me of that! Forgot to include it in the video 😊🙏
@@TytheCanasian can you update your video and include the above information. Also do you know if the book and or soundtrack is available for sale? Thanks!!!!!
I think the last full episode explained fully how Wen Kexing could survive. The Ying Yang Manual's sacrifice calls for a person's cultivation, but WKZ had more than one person's cultivation within him, and the vault itself was last used by a pair of soulmates, and it seems it was filled with things needed for another set of soulmates. It makes sense in that in all other soulmates revealed in the show either chose to die together or live based on what happens to their partners. Everything needed to save WKZ is present in the vault, and Zhou Zishu had made it abundantly clear he would only live if WKZ did.
I was so sad, shocked and confused after watching the last episode. I wanted to know badly what happened with the two of them. I am ecstatic and satisfied with the "true ending". Thank you so much for making me happy with this video.
The depth of love these 2 felt for each other, the pain they felt when either one got hurt, I believe they both became immortals and will forever stay on the mountain just as only soulmates can and will, that is how strong they are😍😍😍😍
Definitely a happy ending and not saying this because I’m biased but because I truly believe it was meant to have a happy ending! Even the script writer said she wrote a happy ending
Woooooaaaaahhhhh i was exactly looking for this..😭😭 I can't b more happier than knowing that zzs n wkx both are alive n spending thier lives together in the mountain😭😭 thnkyou so much for the explanation😃😃😊😊💜💜
It's a happy ending. There are so many details that can explain and imply the happy ending. In the novel they are lovers, but series or film about homosexuality is a sensitive theme in China, so WOH has told us the happy ending in another way. Don't be sad, is definitely a happy ending
for me, it's a happy ending. wherever they live, even if they can only eat snow and drinking ice. but they are living together happily. a happy married life😁 and the fact that the mountain they are living is near the new four seasons manor makes chengling can visit them whenever he wants to.
This is 2 yrs later since you put this video out. Just completed Word of Honor on Netflix. It was powerful as emotional and intricating to watch. I watched both this one and The Untamed. I must say this one gave us more physically, sincere and verbal in the sense of relationship and love. My thought was yes Bai Yi was immortal, so if he was passing his spirit powers over to Wen, yes he would die only to body to transition itself, but to be as Bai Yi was he would eventually come back to life. He said he was tired and want to eat all the types of food he wanted ,then gracefully die away, Just paraphrasing..
Thank you so much for this, I was so upset that there was no resolution, I didn't realize there was a 7 minute final episode! I love this ending, thank you!
things make so much more sense now! The short final episode isn't available on Netflix so I was so disappointed in the ending. It seemed abrupt and just... not finished. They really need to add the last part, it makes a world of difference to what you bring away from the show. Thank you for sharing this. It changed my 7/10 rating (for the bad ending) to a 10/10.
I loved how you explained every single detail. It was subtle and explicit enough. Keep on doing these videos it also actually helps us be more sensitive and observant in every hidden meaning of movies we watch.
I was very sad while watching ep 36 thinking Wen Kexing might have died but after watching this clips, M very happy for them.😍😍😍. Loved the happy ending.
omg I'm glad it's a happy ending. Thank you! I was watching the non-translated videos to episode 36 and I was so confused. I'll have to re-watchin everything all over again when they put english subs on to the videos so that I can have a better understanding.
with your detailed explanation i truly believe its a happy ending..otherwise, sad ending would send me into the depth of despair...coz i so love their tandem...
I like to add that Youku just uploaded a trailer for WOH concert where they have the voice actors did a voice over in the video. Both voice actors for Ah Xu and Lao Wen stated that they have been on the mountains eating ice and snow while sunbathing. Lao Wen also never forgotten his promise of giving Ah Xiang 10 miles of dowry. These voice actors just confirmed that WenZhou is together living as immortals on the mountains for those that don’t want to believe that WKX didn’t die and that special episode (37) is the real (HE) ending. And I loved how they mentioned about the reincarnations of Wei Ning & Ah Xiang and other characters, too.
Aaaah thanks so much for making this video!! The extra episode isn’t on Netflix so I was kinda devastated that there wasn’t an actual ending, but it’s so satisfying to know that there really is a true end!
Hello Ty, I agreed with you. It’s a happy ending of course. Ye Bai Ye said that “As long as I am here I will not letting anyone die” and he knows how ZZS & WKX can’t survive without the other. Also Ye Bai Ye will bring Cheng Ling to visit his Master (ZZS) and to checking on WKX for his condition after the rescue event. However they both became “Immortal soulmate” and stayed together in that glacier ice cave happily for ever. I will keep this sweet drama “WOH” in my heart :) . Again Ty, thanks for sharing the story. Best wishes!
OMG! Thank you so much! I loved (still do) WenZhou so much that I literally cried for two days when I thought Wen Ke Xing died). This is the HEA I was wishing for. You're a life saver!
Nah, totally not a hallucination and is a canon ending. If it was a hallucination on ZZS' part, let's say, why would he be hallucinating Deng Kun & son of all folks to insert into his hallucination?! Would make more sense to have those who knew WKX and ZZS with them if it was a dream, like Chengling/Gu Xiang/Cao Weining. Plus even Deng Kun was rolling his eyes at WKX and ZZS's public PDA in the middle of teaching his son, lol! A hallucination wouldn't do that. Canon ending confirm, signed and sealed 🤗🤗
I am so glad I found this video, I was hella mad when I thought the end of ep 36 was it. I was already devastated by ep 35. (which btw was complete bs. so close to a happy ending) I will continue to believe the content in this video is the true ending and hopefully, recover a little bit quicker from the sadness of this show.
Ep 35 was plain BS when they suddenly killed so many of the cast off, I just decided to ignore Ep35&36 and take it that Ep 34 was the last episode with a happy ending for all.
happy ending! the argument of it being a hallucination has too many holes, although i wonder why they made it so vague in the first place. i cant wait until the series is fully translated into english :') i have gone ahead and watched some of the raws as well as this ending, and although i cant understand much of anything, i am just too impatient D: not to mention the spoilers everywhere talking about whether it was a sad or happy ending. i just had to see it for myself ;p thanks for explaining the final ending! good video :)
Yea, it was pretty vague. I think it might had something to do with censorship in China :/ That's why there are so much hidden stuff in the series. Doing a video on that soon :) Currently have almost a whole page written of hidden Easter eggs
@@TytheCanasian it is due to the censorship. Even Cheng Ling explanation at the end was over dubbed to make it vague. Everything in the original was explained well, so I blame it on the censorship.
All I can think is they mate like majestic eagles in the air, they look happy together, so if they live or die they will be together forever. I am happy to see this ending.
Upon watching the show a second time round I noticed that a person's 经脉 (sorry don't know the word in English...) being broken apart is never the direct cause of death. When Ye Bai Yi first suggested to remove Ah Xu of his martial art skills, he stated it was because the moment the nails come off his overflowing internal energy (内力)will come gushing out and kill him via implosion. Same thing with Long Que, where Lao Wen stated his 经脉 has been blocked for too long, and to remove his shackles would kill him via implosion as his internal powers explode. Whereas a person's 经脉 being broken will not cause direct death, when Long Xiao stated the condition of Rong Xuan being 病入膏肓,心脉寸断 (severely injured and ill, his heart tendons(?) broken to pieces), and later when Lao Wen stated that the poison he came into contact with will only render a person to a comatose state. So it's pretty obvious that the implosion was always the cause of death, and not the 经脉 being broken part. That, plus the fact that in the end Lao Wen was not going through an implosion, just the process of transforming the cultivation of LHSG to a more tolerable level so that Ah Xu's body can take it. Though Cheng Ling suggested that implosion was a possibility, both he and Ye Bai Yi highlighted the 经脉 being broken and hair turning white as the main side effects, plus Cheng Ling was obviously adding to the story for dramatic effects, as seen by Xiao Lian's reaction when she found out. Honestly, if Lao Wen died, Xiao Lian would NEVER joke around Cheng Ling about it. Only Ye Bai Yi's story is left in obscurity in the end, which makes sense because Lao Wen and Ah Xu wouldn't have a happy ending otherwise. It's not that hard to piece his story together (though several versions might come out): Rong Chang Qing created the Ghost Valley and became its first master, and tried to master LHSG in order to tame those under his rule. He fails; Ye Bai Yi saves him, and with Rong Chang Qing being 'dead' (comatose), the Ghost Valley becomes a threat. Between these events Ye Bai Yi manages to forge a non-aggression pact between the Ghost Valley and Wulin and takes Rong Chang Qing with him back to Chang Ming mountain and built a fake tomb for him outside to fool the others (see Shen Shen's dialogue in EP 31). He saves Rong Chang Qing but they do not cultivate LHSG together so Rong Chang Qing dies of old age (he lived longer than his son!). This is just my version, at least it makes sense to me. Honestly when the word 炉鼎 came out I freaking knew it was gonna be a happy ending. It's a term in the Cultivation World universe where two people cultivate together via ***, just that one drains the other of their power (usually not fatal). Since Ah Xu has already become immortal, Lao Wen and Ah Xu can totally do this 炉鼎 thing back and forth until they both become immortal XD. *Edit* I do want to add that Ye Bai Yi saving Rong Chang Qing is not the same as Lao Wen and Ah Xu cultivating together. I mean LHSG is pretty limitless so mending one's 经脉 isn't much of an impossible task. The point of Ye Bai Yi telling Lao Wen he can save Ah Xu at the cost of his life is to make sure that they love each other enough to stay together as immortals, so that neither of them have to go through what he did, watching the one he loved growing old and dying. I mean he could've just gone with Lao Wen to chase Ah Xu and save him himself if it was really fatal, right? Also I want to add that 阴阳册 is just a distraction, otherwise it wouldn't just be discarded wherever on the ground, in contrast to LHSG which is kept in a safe. It's kind of ironic how everybody wanted 阴阳册 for the entirety of the story yet it saves one life at the cost of another, therefore it's useless and lying on the ground. I think the 阴阳册 being there is another hint at a happy ending.
@@TytheCanasian Thank you! But I couldn't have done it without analysis like yours first! Honestly on my first go I just saw 炉鼎 and my mind auto-sorted the story to a happy ending XD What makes me love this show even more is how much info is hidden within every line of dialogue and being able to participate in the discussion!
Thank you for posting this. I just watched for the second time and was disappointed that episode 37 was dropped. Thanks to you I got to see their happy ending!!!
I am done midway of this drama series and agree that this is indeed one of the best as compared to the other C- Drama over the past 5 years. The story gradually unfolds with suspense, with so many handsome guys! Each episode brings fears, tears, joys and sweetness to the role. Kudos to all the actors! Ah- Xu reminds me of 萧傲江湖, really 潇洒。As for Gong Jun, he managed to shed away his Kissing image here in this drama. And who is the cute Scorpion King? I am drooling . . . .
This. Was. AWESOME! Every episode made me either laugh or cry and I would immediately watch a second season just with some more family vibes up in the mountains 🔥 Thanks to everyone involved for this incredible masterwork ❣️
It was without doubt a happy ending through and through I cant believe the makers had so much passion towards the show that even with all the censorship restrictions they gave us a happy ending ❤
Thank you for this video:) I finished the series just now and the last episode was so abrupt for me to handle, after watching your video- explaining the last episode and the extra 37th episode- I can relax and be happy,... thank you so much:)
Thankyou for this, i feel so sad when I watch the ending on other website. Tq for your explanation, so now I can continue watching, beacause I cannot watch sad ending for such an awesome wonderful drama. Tq so much
thank you so much for this video. i could not watch the bonus episode. I believe it is a happy ending. i am happy that they were togetherr. i was going to cry in a corner after watching ep 36 but after watching this video, i can sleep peacefully now. good night
Oh my.. Tq so much for the summary. I was so damn sad watching the last episode. Now, i am happy again:) xie xie! I agreed with this happy ending. Brothers bonding. Good soul mate frens. Hehe
I was interested in your opinion. I watched that show 4 years ago. Just the clips you showed and the memory of the ending made me cry. What a powerful and beautiful story it was to affect me so significantly after so many years.
Ok first I thought it was end on the 36 episode so I was a bit disappointed but after i saw the 37 even is only 3 minutes I'm truly satisfied, thank you🙏 because searching and found your video then I noticed ep 37 🤣
Thanks for putting up this video, it's great to see the final ending. As the official version won't let us watch the final ending in our country. So very greatful to you ❤️
Wow, I found the ending incredible and happy. In my opinion everyone who complains about the end of WOH should come to this video and read all the comments carefully so that they understand that *WOH* was really a wonderful job. That in the midst of all adversity he managed to deliver us a masterpiece. 👏😍🥰
its a happy ending they both became immortal like ye bai yi there's no way A Xu a new immortal let Lao Wen cross to the otherside after his sacrifice for him
Thank you very much. I like the analysis and agree on the happy ending one. WOH is the masterpiece. I thank the whole team, especially the two lead actors who have been bringing WOH into my daily activities. For Zhehan, be patient. I have been on your side since the very beginning. Love you, your beloved mama and your family.
ofcourse it's a happy ending and thank you for further explaining the ending with eng subs 😊 actually i've watched the extra ep. but without subs so, i don't know what they were saying 😆😆
Thank you so much for this video.i was so sad when i realised it was an open ending..after watching your video I'm super happy rn....its finally a happy ending for my babies :)
A very logic and thorough explanations dear base according to the storyline and facts in the drama..i agree very much with your opinions..Thanks
"They then proceed to do a friendly combat." Is this what young people are calling it these days?
Lol😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah. They call it partnership in cultivation. :) which is essentially not a PG occupation.
Friendly combat in a snowy mountain? I want to try it. 🤣🤣🤣
Yes..hahaha
Per the book..they were fighting to see who will top🤣🤣🤣 I choked on my drink when I read that
My favourite argument is how ye bai yi said “as long as i am here i will not let anyone die”
And also take note how Ye Bai Yi said this when Lao Wen was still unconscious.
Yes! Thank you for explaining Ye Baiyi. I totally agree with what you just said 😊
@@TytheCanasian Ye Bai Yi is a good man who is also an eccentric. No one can really predict him but never in his life would he put ppl that he cherish so much into danger. I really don’t understand ppl who believe him when he said Lao Wen will die :’ )
Yes it's because of Ye Bai yi words that I believe it's a happy ending when he said "these two are destined to live together no one die before me " huhuhu 🥺🤗
i love your intelligent ways of explaining things, very logical and giving us indepth understanding..thanks dear
@@binudoddy4425 No worries, and thanks for the compliment 😅
I can understand that ppl may have misunderstood the ending due to how rushed it is and it doesn’t give people time to even think what on earth is happening. I still remember myself just sitting there at the end credits like “what the fuck just happened, that’s it?!” 😂
I have to admit that the pacing towards the end is kinda bad.

Same here, I got mad at Netflix ending. I look on Google for this serie, and there write about two diftent ends. And found this end, so I got calm 😊
Same here! Thanks for posting this! This ending is much satisfying than the one in episode 36! Not sure why Netflix does not include it!
Precisely! 😊
@@TytheCanasian I’m happy that you enjoyed it as much as I did. It’s one of the few dramas that I fell in love with. It brought up so many emotions in me as I feel so connected with the characters especially our main leads. WOH will always be in my heart.
@@simstarz111 SAME! So much feels, it's definitely a must-watch drama
Yup. This is the real ending. I will fight anyone who disagrees.
If they survive the hair turns white. White hair = he lived. Done and done.
So who was the girl that came to cheng lings lap also did gao guniya marry her fiance and was cheng ling married

I’m so happy I saw this I was bawling in tears at midnight when I finished ep 36 and thought it was a sad ending
Likewise, the ending on Netflix aggravated me. I was like, "Seriously? Bad editing ending?" Now, seeing this epilogue, it makes total sense: they became divine.
YBY probably wanted Axu and Lao Wen to become immortals.
IMMORTAL HUSBANDS! If theres footage ill take it and nobody gonna take this canon from my cold dead hands!!!
Ep 19 - 20
Training the student, happy moment between the the 2 friends.
Plus WKX literally kicked the heal everything book and gave it to ZX. So he had the book in his hand to save WKX
To me this was not a poor production. Although the budget was very low, I found they produced an excellent drama in every respect.
There are 40 episodes?!?!
@@王家儿 The plan was 45epi and got 36 in the end.
That child is ZCL 2.0 subjected to eternal flirting and shameless heart eyes. I can't believe CL has someone to continue his legacy too 😂
It’s an happy ending in the novel so it’s gotta be an happy ending. Period!
The WOH drama shows that true n honest love can change ppl to be a better person .... going through all the obstacle together...
Forever!

I'm not in a hurry to judge the ending. I'm still grieving Ah Xiang and Cao Wen Ning's deaths
This is the real ending i refuse to believe otherwise, I've had enough of "bury your gays" endings
Thanks!!!!!
Such a happy ending, though I'm still sad for Mister and Madam Cao. T-T

It's a happy ending. There are so many details that can explain and imply the happy ending. In the novel they are lovers, but series or film about homosexuality is a sensitive theme in China, so WOH has told us the happy ending in another way. Don't be sad, is definitely a happy ending

and the fact that the mountain they are living is near the new four seasons manor makes chengling can visit them whenever he wants to.

Ha! Thanks! I felt the ending was so abrupt! I was yearning for more. This definitely is a great ending!
I knew this was gonna be 2021 popular and a happy ending as soon as I just watch 1 chapter and I was right 😂. Thanks for your lovely work . ❤️👍🏼
I love this theory! This is definitely how I imagine it ended, so thank you for making this video 😊
Ep 35 was plain BS when they suddenly killed so many of the cast off, I just decided to ignore Ep35&36 and take it that Ep 34 was the last episode with a happy ending for all.
your explanation is greattt! 👍 it is a happy ending for sure
happy ending! the argument of it being a hallucination has too many holes, although i wonder why they made it so vague in the first place.
i cant wait until the series is fully translated into english :') i have gone ahead and watched some of the raws as well as this ending, and although i cant understand much of anything, i am just too impatient D: not to mention the spoilers everywhere talking about whether it was a sad or happy ending. i just had to see it for myself ;p
thanks for explaining the final ending! good video :)
Yea, it was pretty vague. I think it might had something to do with censorship in China :/ That's why there are so much hidden stuff in the series. Doing a video on that soon :) Currently have almost a whole page written of hidden Easter eggs
@@TytheCanasian true, hopefully they’ll lighten up on it soon D: looking forward to that easter egg video! :D
@@TytheCanasian it is due to the censorship. Even Cheng Ling explanation at the end was over dubbed to make it vague. Everything in the original was explained well, so I blame it on the censorship.
@@simstarz111 Yeah, there's a lot of voiceovers too. But luckily we have people who are skilled in lip reading and shared some the original lines. 😊
@@TytheCanasian Yes, thank god for them
When I first watched the ending, I felt really sad... but I believe your analysis is correct and I will rewatch it with these pointers in mind.
Thank you it was very insightful and great commentary!
It's not that hard to piece his story together (though several versions might come out):
Rong Chang Qing created the Ghost Valley and became its first master, and tried to master LHSG in order to tame those under his rule.
Wow! Thank you for the explanations!!! Very detailed!!! Much better than what I did ☺️☺️☺️
@@TytheCanasian Thank you! But I couldn't have done it without analysis like yours first! Honestly on my first go I just saw 炉鼎 and my mind auto-sorted the story to a happy ending XD
What makes me love this show even more is how much info is hidden within every line of dialogue and being able to participate in the discussion!
Thanks you, for this detailed explanation, for those of us, who neither speak, nor read Mandarin, but still loved Word of Honor!
Only sad thing about drama is it has only 36 episodes+1 special episode
Agreed 😩
This was a happy ending and thank you for the video
I am drooling . . . .
This. Was. AWESOME!
Every episode made me either laugh or cry and I would immediately watch a second season just with some more family vibes up in the mountains 🔥
Thanks to everyone involved for this incredible masterwork ❣️
Happy ending wow Lao Wen looks f* good with white hair
Definately happy ending❤️
It was without doubt a happy ending through and through I cant believe the makers had so much passion towards the show that even with all the censorship restrictions they gave us a happy ending ❤
Yeah, I loved your analysis and makes a lot of sense. All the while I thought the other died after helping, curing his best friend. Xiexie ni

Wow, I found the ending incredible and happy. In my opinion everyone who complains about the end of WOH should come to this video and read all the comments carefully so that they understand that *WOH* was really a wonderful job.
