These titles are hilarious. But I agree with someone else who said it's the wrong title - Kexing (white hair) survives after saving Zishu. 🙂 Kexing was unconscious in the end, but not dead. So, it would be a good idea to adjust the title to not misinform viewers. ^ 🙃

Kexing and Zishu live together on the mountain as immortals. The censored version had Chengling speak broadly about the method Kexing and Zishu performed, but lip-reading videos (what the actual dialogue was) tells us that Chengling said the method only works when two people love each other. But again, censorship was the reason why Chengling's voice actor did not say that.

Its not alternative ending. There is only one ending. They have both Yin Yang book and 6th combination power book. Ye Bai Yi transferred his power to WKX and WKX made ZZS an immortal too. ZZS cured WKX using Yin Yang book. Now both live happily for eternity.
If you don't know, this is in novel extras. So extra episode is made.
Also, Gu Xiang and Cao Ning are reborn and they married early because they are both born with red thread bond and their parents know they are soulmates since birth. The live peacefully and happily.
Anyone new who haven't watched HSL will be hella confused seeing this title

I watched this part on the last episode hundreds of times... Wen kexing had a very suffering life, feel so sorry for him..! But if the director doesn't want to make a bad ending, then why made wen kexing said these last sad words.
And in the interview of the actor of zishu, he said they filmed two endings but both are sad endings. So this tv ending is definitely a sad ending. The actor of wen kexing also said in the interview that the most difficult part of their acting was for this scene in the last episode. They were so sad from acting in this scene.
The other special ending seems like good ending. But citizen revealed it was just zishu's imagination according to official documents. Netizens put the screenshots on internet too showing that version is just zishu's imagination. You can also tell from the reaction when zishu turns around and sees wen kexing in grey hairs with his eyes wide open, his facial expression is a bit surprised and shocked. So that extra special version is also a sad ending. But because the director listened to most of netizens' opinions, she changed and cut the imagination into a real version and made it look like a happy ending to comfort the fans.
It's not. Netizens already found the older Chengling's original lines that explained how the two of them lived because they were soulmates. This was dubbed over to be more ambiguous because the original lines did not pass the review. His lips don't match his dialog. So, the original ending filmed was a happy ending. Netizens also found that immortal ending was a part of ep 36 in initial review but did not pass. Since, the open ending did pass censorship then Youku came up with the idea of adding the ending clip back as an easter egg to provide the complete ending and still beat censorship.
The scriptwriter said that she wrote a happy ending and the producers confirmed that they intended a happy ending but had to put it separately due to censorship. The actors said both were sad because they shot an open ending, then a shot(immortal) that can be then edited to be both happy/sad in case the open ending did not pass (there was extra A and extra B). They were worried that the trend of censorship will not allow for a happy ending. When the actors interview was done, the finale had not yet been broadcast, and red envelopes were sent to the group after the broadcast
Wow! WOH's producer, director, and scriptwriter are really clever in making alternative shots/scenes if it will not pass the censorship. They really went as far as they can. Salute to the whole production and to the whole cast of WOH.

This is the worst part of the drama, plus the fake death. Total failure. If I were ZZS, I wouldn't take Zhen Yan (btw, he is not WKX. Real WKX won't do this to ZZS) as my friend (let alone soulmate). If I were WKX, I would never do such things to ZZS. That's against my value systems. Whoever cannot see the big problems in Zhen Yan's behaviors, good luck.
Yeah drama became a bit weird at faking death part. He needed beating from ZZS for sure
i feel like you could apply this to even more of the drama. they kept claiming to understand each other, but would then act against each other's wishes anyway lol. e.g. zzs surrendering to capture by the prince, the fake death plot, and this scene.

He didn't have choice, and was hoping that WKX could come save him after he woke up. ZZS told Cheng Ling to lie to WKX that he left to get cured while knowing that he would die, is a lie. This is similar to Xiao Long Nv left words for Yang Guo to meet 16 years later while she knew she would not make it. In SHL, the screenwriter gave WKX lots of scenes but really degenerated him in the later part. WKX kept hiding his identity despite of ZZS's assurance and offer to help. It's typical in BG where a girl has low self-esteem of her past and would not open up. But WKX and ZZS are soulmates, in the novel, he never contempt himself for being the ghost valley master and was frank about it. They are equal and they respond to each other's feelings equally. WKX totally understands ZZS does not want to give up his martial art skills in exchange to live longer. This is in the novel. SHL is a successful production, with some critical flaws.
@@qqpol hmm yeah, i see that. it seems like they were running out of budget and had to wrap things up quickly towards the end. it's a shame, i think if they had the budget and an extended production schedule/more episodes, they could have really let the characters and plot breathe. as it is, there's definitely some weird arc resolutions and loose threads at the end there.
