Hi! really happy to hear this song again! I'm desperately searching for the songs of the LP Sanctuary (especially The Letter): if you"ve got it, it would be amazingly great if you could upload them! ;-) Thanks!
@@zimriel Hi zimriel, guitarist/singer of the Passions here. Definitely before the Cure and Banshees. Though we did have some guitar sounds in common for sure. A half a generation before those beauties.
@@barbaragogan9909 Hey! It's an honour. Wikipedia is telling me that the Passions' debut was Michael & Miranda in 1980. The Banshees had an album in 1978, but shifted direction (and several bandmates) so that second album "Kaleidoscope" is the one with the songs most people have actually heard, "Happy House" and such. Also 1980. Meanwhile the Cure had "Seventeen Seconds" in... 1980. The Cure would be happy to pretend that was their first, although I did like a lot of the earlier songs.
@@barbaragogan9909 That's quite nice of you to take the time to answer ! I thought you were up there with Siouxsie/The Cure/The Chameleons et al, with this atmospheric, intimate mood. "Small talk" is another one of my favorite. Hope all those will be available on CD one day !
One of the most underrated songs ever
And one of the most underrated bands of its time. Put those on CDs, for bollock's sake !!!!!
@@pateris Their three albums have been reissued on CD with bonus tracks.

Pre-The Cure, pre-Duran Duran, dark essence.
it was contemporary with The Cure and early Duran, I think.
We're looking at early Siouxsie here.

... which is not to say that the Wikipedians know anything. (I'm a Siouxsie / Cure fan, only just discovered The Passions last year.)

It's the album.
Very Ultavox sounding. Good though.
