One of my all time faves. I met Jerry Reed once and he was so cool. I shook his hand and said you are Jerry Reed! He said "Whats left of eem."

I was key grip on this shoot. My good friend Mr. Cely was the gaffer and my company, Danny Boy, supplied the G&E. Jerry was lots of fun to work with and was gracious and generous. On the main wide 2 shot you can see my 4x4 frame of 216 in the upper right hand corner of the frame (oops). Our DP was Mil Cannon and our producer was Francis Percarpio. Over a week's time I think we did a total of 3 music videos for Jerry's Branson show. His emphysema kept Jerry to short shoot days but it didn't affect his performance or professionalism. I think I have some stills of this shoot somewhere. We had a good time with this project. Thank you so much for posting this. I've never seen it before.

They call me Gator her in Florida cuz it was rumoured I was poaching in the mid '70s.We have crocs now and that is changing the eco system but as to Jerry Reed.What a legend as you know better than I and even Elvis needed Jerry on a sing cuz try as they might they couldn't get that Reed fingerpicking without him so Elvis brought Jerry in abnd got what he wanted and they remained friends til Elvis' death.
So cool your worh on this video and something to be very proud of.Good job Dan.I love this and anything Jerry.He,Chet Atkins and mark Knopfler are some of the best artsts and finger pickers ever. I'm 59 and have loved Jerry All of my life.

Every now and then I return to this masterpiece.
The video is genius and is a true tribute to an artistic genius as Jerry Reed who was a part of the American Renaissance of Music of the 20's through the 80's! The greatest period of Music that Man has ever known, and this guy was one great part of it!
But that video was made years later, right? I mean, that's obviously not 1970.. it's also a later recorded version of the song I think.

Hi...this is great and I think this was done about the time Jerry Redd played 'Coach Red Beaulieu' of the University of Louisiana team, in Adam Sandler's "The Waterboy" (1998). Henry Winkler plays 'Coach Klein' of the S.C.L.S.U. team; the movie was filmed in Florida so, this is probably done during that filming. I love this video and I have always loved the song. I actually know several "Amos Moses"; I live in Louisiana and the town I grew up in, has several boys that attended my high school that lost their fingers/hand/foot from gator hunting (during gator season).

I never liked seeing Jerry Reed as an older man,,,,he was awesome though. He was a fave of mine when I was in the 6th and 7th grade,,,,,I loved this song,,still do. He was one of the greats.

It's too bad Jerry Reed and Tony Joe White never recorded a song together. Amos Moses and Polk Salad Annie would have made a terror-iffic couple.
Spot on Paisan!! Jerry was known more for his skills as a guitarist versus a songwriter, but man-o-man, let those two hang out together for a few days and no telling what they would have come up with. By the way, I once heard Jerry say that when he finished writing Amos Moses at home, he played it for his young daughter and asked her if she thought it would be a hit. She said --- "Yes daddy."

Marz5004 well I hate to break it to you but it most certainly is illegal to hunt and kill gators at just any time you can only hunt during certain times different states have different gator seasons threw out the year with different quota numbers on how many you can actually hunt and kill gators have their season to be hunted just like white tail deer the only way you can kill one out of season is if comes up on personal property and is posing imentent danger towards a person where it is kill or be killed in self defense but most times they want you to try to have some one come in catch and release in less populated areas by wildlife org
