I am assuming that you do not have this disorder. As a Doctor of Medicine with a degree in Genetics and Nutrition, I would love to try and understand why you believe that ADHD is fraud. I practice the use of nutrition and psychology to coach my clients with ADHD into a life style closer to what you may consider normal. I would like to ask you to imagine this for me please. You wake up, shower, brush your teeth, dress, eat and then drive to work or school typical every week day, yes? I would imagine that you pay no mind to anything accept the occasional lost keys or what cereal to eat. For someone with ADHD, their morning is quite different. It goes as follows. Wake up, (if they slept less than 7 hours) try to clear their head of and endless stream of thoughts of yesterday and today, get in shower, forget the towel, get upset for forgetting the towel again, brush teeth while attempting to rehearse what your daily routine will be, find a shirt, leave towel back in your room, look for two socks, find another shirt only to realize you already did this and were actually looking for socks, grab your phone and sit down to relax from this annoyance, remember that the socks are in the dryer, finish dressing our of the close in the dryer, drive to work, your running late, you forgot to eat, you are stressed that you are going to be late and stop for fast food breakfast, and get to work late again. I understand that this is comical when you read it. People with this condition will laugh at it as well because it is true. However, the difference between you and an individual with ADHD is that you have the ability to drive off auto pilot when it comes to something as easy as getting to work. Someone with ADHD does not have this ability nearly as well as you do. This is because of the physical path of there brains wiring. When you complete a task, your brain ends all the elements involved with thinking about it. This is when your brain literally builds habits. Eventually leading to not even needing to think of it anymore. When someone with ADHD finishes something, they drop about a third of what they had been thinking of. Their brain is slowed down as it tries to use this little amount of room to contemplate the next task. Once the next task is completed, there is a little less room to think of other tasks as they continue to juggle the events just prior still. It is not something that they can clear out of their mind like you can. When you are overwhelmed, you take a deep breath and center yourself to be refreshed. The ADHD mind does not allow this easily. Forcing the individual to continue to walk throughout their day trying to constantly focus on what is in front of them instead of what they were doing or saw.

+Chad Pittman Hey I think I might have ADHD. I kind of ignored this thought until I had about five people in two weeks ask me if I had it. Then I drank like coffe with this really good sugar called sweet 'n low and milk and I felt all fatigued the whole day but I could actually focus and I actually did my homework and stuff on time. I also always tap on stuff and my mom gets mad at me and so does my teacher and don't really know what to do so I sustained myself on coffee for three day and didn't really sleep much and it was amazing because I could sit down and work. But we just ran out of coffee I finally slept because I started having issues talking to people because it like dampened my emotions. Do you think this is ADHD?

+Chad Pittman Doesn't matter if adhd is real or not. Even if effective, amphetamine and other psych drugs mess you up, they are not safe.

Drugs that are commonly used for focus are not going to "mess you up" if you use them in the correctly dosed and proscribed doses. Drugs like adderal and ritalin are actually just stimulants that have a chemical reaction that helps reign in your mind to focus. It's a commonly used drug that has benefited the lives of many. My sister and brother both have been diagnosed with ADHD and ADD and they used to be so freaking spazzy and could never sit down and focus. The doctor proscribed them a very controlled amount of ritalin, that was constantly being adjusted based on weight, growth, and progress, and their grades improved and they were calmer and such. It's true, like any substance, that if you abuse the offered proscription, that you may become addicted and then yes, it will mess you up. Just like ANY OTHER DRUG. Make sure you research things before you make any comments like this.

This is so true. I never knew i have had ADHD all my life until my 5 year old son got diagnosed with ADHD himself. That's when it all mad sense. Everyday is a struggle. I think it's best described as when a normal person is running late. When normal people over sleep and are running late to work, everything goes wrong. You have to multitask which only makes you forget things. Just a imagine your worst day being your EVERYDAY. It's a constant struggle. I never got a diagnosis or help with my ADHD, so it's way harder for me to be a mom of 3 kids and 1 of them having ADHD, speech impairment, and possibly ODD.

I SWEAR TO GOD, THIS IS ME, STOP SAYING THIS GUY IS WRONG BECAUSE THIS IS ME(except the late part) when I was younger THAT WAS ME. 100% EXACTLY THE SAME... WHY? Because honestly I just forgot what I was gonna say, like adhd is so annoying because I WANT to do well in school, have better relationships, BUT people just walk away from me because i'd interrupt in class, or even say dumb sh*t in class(out of impulsivity of my crazy running thoughts, I AM NOT calling myself dumb), anyways... like I literally didn't pay attention to anything, I tapped on desks, I hate to remember... But I remember I got sent to the principles office EVERYDAY, and got suspended more than 9 times because teachers or students couldn't handle my disruptions... I actually have learned how it works in my body a little bit but I can't explain how I control it in words...(sorry).. but just don't say he is wrong because that was me....Thank You.(I actually didn't care about my grammar writing this, I just wanted to get the message across.)theres always that one person who gotta say some sh*t lol. OH and I'm 18 years old FYI, I still have a hard time in school, im going to college this year, but im terrified of failing again like I have done before... only less now... but I just don't wanna fail...
