The Glock 17 4th Generation is a semi-automatic pistol that has earned a reputation for its reliability, durability, and widespread use by military, law enforcement, and civilian shooters around the world. Introduced in 2010, the 4th generation of the Glock 17 includes several updates from its predecessors. One of the most notable features is the Modular Back Strap system, allowing users to adjust the grip size to better fit their hand, enhancing comfort and control. The pistol is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, with a standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds, though extended magazines are available. The 4th Gen model also features a dual recoil spring assembly, which reduces felt recoil and extends the service life of the spring. Additionally, it comes with a Rough Textured Frame (RTF) surface for improved grip, and a reversible enlarged magazine catch, making it more user-friendly for left-handed shooters. Weighing around 710 grams (25 ounces) unloaded and measuring 202 mm (7.95 inches) in overall length, the Glock 17 4th Gen maintains the brand's reputation for simplicity, with a minimal number of parts, contributing to ease of maintenance and reliability under adverse conditions. It also continues Glock's legacy of the "Safe Action" system, which includes three passive safeties that disengage sequentially when the trigger is pulled, providing a consistent trigger pull while enhancing safety.

I'm glad that Glock did away with the finger grooves for the Gen 5. I like the grip much better now. Still an excellent pistol regardless. Only brand I'd truly trust my life with.
Agreed. They're very simple and easy to operate, takedown, maintenance, repair and clean. They have very few moving parts and the availability of Glock parts is common and inexpensive. And in my experience they are ultra reliable pistols. I've been shooting Glocks for 30 years and they've never let me down.
in the process of getting my first gloc, i’ve had other taurus’ and hellcat pros, is the 17 too long ?? or is it not bad , i am 21 barely and asking that’s why; id say medium to smaller hands to be honest. that gen 4 17 not bad ?
@romansolisjr.5573 my follow up question would be; do you plan to carry it or not? Personally I have medium/small hands, with a short stature and minimal gut size. I carry it iwb at about 1-2 o'clock In a hard sided holster. With my set up there is no printing or discomfort. As for the gun itself, it's not overly long but mind you it is still a full size combat gun. Fills the hands nicely, but not in an over bearing way. The fit, finish, and function is flawless though, I couldn't ask for a better gun to keep myself and family safe. There is something to be said for glock simplicity.
@@JohnCrab I do plan on carrying as you stated in your last sentence you want to keep your family safe being , 21 at least for me is a new start. Want to keep me and my girl safe moving into our first place. thank you sir: will def be moving forward in getting this firearm

Bro glocks They don't seem like they were designed by actual firearms experts, they seem like they were designed by children. No one with a brain would make a gun that jams if you don't keep it clean. That's why I choose the Beretta. It's better.
Good grip and great control. Well done sir!🥲

It looks like such a smooth shooting gun. It barely gets off of target at all.
That's not the Glock, it's him. Glocks are hard to control.

Stumps are great target backstops . Love my P80 Glock 17 .
Nice recoil control
Wouldn't want to be downrange
Great job!

Excellent video. I inherited a gen 4. I hate it. I am beginning to realize it’s one of the best pistols of all time.
The sound of the firing reminds me of the Luger and Mauser pistols absolutely beautiful
Got one for my 21st birthday. Gen 4 or Gen 5 are good.
The most American comment I've ever read
On the day of your birthday you went through the system quick? I turn 21 soon trying to buy a gun the day of my birthday

Best generation IMO. If I'm going into combat, that would be by choice sidearm.

Removing the finger grooves takes the glock to the next level…that’s exactly why glock went back to no finger grooves feels 100x better in the hand💯
I agree!
In my opinion, the Greatest combat handgun ever made.
