Ramsey is such an out of touch Boomer. Used to listen to him regularly but he’s so smug and has no clue what the ordinary US citizen struggles with. I make $160k/year and bought a house last year. @@Gibb591 agreed
Lack of ambition?? Did you guys miss the part when she said she's an introvert with crippling anxiety and depression? For anyone with mental health issues, maintaining a steady job is ambitious. $700 is approximately 25% of what she earns from actually working, so it's ridiculous to think that that small amount would make her think she has it made and doesn't need to continue working. She said she enjoys her job, it just doesn't bring a large income.
I guess you also missed the part where she said she has a degree and is thinking to pursue that again. She may be lacking direction, but apparently she listens to Dave, so I'd say she's working pretty hard to keep it together.

But I'm a college student Dave, and I can't do that. My parents bought a house, got married, and had me by the time they were my age. So where did things go horribly wrong, and who is to blame, and what the hell do we do about it?

$2500 a month is like a $20 dollar an hour job after taxes what Dave doesn't realize is that he expects everyone to make $30 dollars an hour

Dave is wrong about his generalization about the delivery for the major pizza chains. I was a driver for 3 years for Pizza Hut in San Diego. I quit in 2019. I was the fastest driver and reliable before I left. Long story short, they always violated labor laws. I got money 3 times for the years from class action lawsuits from summitwest pizza (holding co. Of the franchises) due to breaking labor laws constantly. They don’t like people working more than 29 hrs a week unless they are a “General Manager”. That is how they legally get out of paying healthcare. They treated workers bad. Bad management. Toxic work environment. They didn’t build up staff. They screw drivers on mileage. There are a lot of legitimate reasons why they can’t find labor, and the short answer is because they are legit a bad employer. I think it is ridiculous that the laws incentivize people to offer only part time positions for a job that could be full time. It doesn’t make sense.
So does everyone have mental health issues nowadays? Maybe I’m insensitive, but it seems like it gets thrown around so often as an excuse.

So many people getting the job they want, but not the job they need. And they wonder why they're in the situation they're in.
Seriously what is she talking about? He asked for her long term career goals.
275 sq ft isn't a lot, but if she brings up her income she could definitely afford something bigger and better.
People should get roommates. For 10 years i saved and paid all my debt off and bought a house in 2010
I think a lot of people are okay with roommates they just Struggle to find one that will do their own dishes and we generally respectful and always pay their half on time
You got a point but some roommates are crazy and irresponsible and lots of landlords won't care if anything happens. It's better if they lower the taxes. Single people that are renting pay the most in taxes, insurance and other necessary stuff. Some people are taxed into poverty.
This woman is so delusional any room mate would go crazy living with her.
Roommates could also become a illegal in a county in Kansas 😂 That would be awful if it passed
@@kylefielder9664 I've been reading about this, why do they want to outlaw roommates?
This insanity. These rent increases are criminal!
No it’s not. Property taxes are up, utilities, repairs, and just about everything else that goes into running a rental property. The land lords are not profiting from the increase
When anyone is beating around the bush they are hiding something.
Dave, how would anyone afford anything in a city like LA??
She’s only 34 !! Geez !!! I thought she was 54 or something !!! She sounds a lot older !!!
I am trying to be sympathetic to her situation, but at the same time it feels like she uses her mental health as an excuse not to take a leap of faith on anything. All throughout this call there was a lot of excuses.
I rent because I only pay $600/mo and it lets me save for when I find a house I really want, I can't imagine paying 1600 in rent. At that point just buy a house. You live in st. louis, the marked there is way cheaper than where I live. You could easily buy a nice house there with a lower mortgage payment than your rent will be.
Could u explain your living situation please for such low rent. Are you sharing space?
Film degree = dog sitter. Enough said.
50% of income for rent is already a lot. 65% going to rent like the caller’s situation is just overkill.
Is not that people don't want to work, they don't want to work for low pay and or abuse from patrons. Dave needs to view some of the UA-cam videos of services people being abused.
Her decision making is solely emotion based and she will continue to drain her trust fund and have nothing at retirement, if she keeps this path.
Dave is lot more humble then I am
Than not then
