This simple tutorial will show you how to use your android phone as an external monitor to your Nikon D750 DSLR camera for vlogging.

yup. been doing that since 2016 mate. but no need to use usb cable. just use the wifi of the d750. the qdslrdashboard can connect to it wirelessly.
There might be changes with the recent version since you cannot record video now if connected only via wifi
WiFi is extra battery consumption for longer shoots & risks disconnecting at any moment
Can we disable the host mode? My camera controls are gone when connected using wifi.
Also, hdmi to otg is not getting on phone. Where as other otg camera app is allowing me to see live view. I am using nikon d750

I think this is no replacement for a proper field monitor but this can be useful in most cases in the absence of a good one.

@@FerdinandDivinagracia I use a D750 and D7200, I have tried using it through Wi-Fi but it just won't connect. What appealed to me about it was, if the camera is low down or the sun is making the screen on the camera hard to see I could use the phone screen at different angles.
Paul, You will need the usb cable for those camera models for the video recording to work.

@@prateexen yes you just on/off host mode in the app to toggle between both options
What type of cable is that ? You said usb cable but it can’t be android mobile charging cable...and in video that part (when you have connected the cable to camera and when you were showing cable and adapter) was not correctly visible.
Use a data cable not just the ordinary usb cable you use for charging

Does it steal the liveview from the dslr? Or does it duplicate the live view from the dslr? If it steal the liveview from the dslr, it will not do eye autofocus of the dslr. But if it duplicates the liveview from the dslr, eye autofocus will still usable.

Depends on your phone and camera ports, but mine is just a generic type C to C usb cable

You are not showing whether the camera LCD is off or on while the external phone LCD is being used. Is it possible to switch camera LCD off?
Camera LCD went off after I plugged the usb... but you have the option in the app to switch the camera control from phone and back to camera

I cannot say. I do not own an eos 3000D but my best guess is that it will probably work.

Why isn’t anyone having an answer for this? Not everyone owns a dslr. What if one android phone is recording a video and I want the feed from the first phone to show wirelessly on my second android phone? Is there an app for that?
There are several ways to do that. You can use NDI as one example.

I don't think it will. If you want to do external recording directly to your computer, do check out OBS. It's also a free software for recording and streaming.

Hi. So far I have no problem with it. There might be times that you will experience a bit of delay when you press a button it could be phone issue or connection issue with the cable but overall it is great.

This is great. Question. How can I remove all of the camera setting from displaying on the screen? I just want to see a full screen of the image on phone.
Same, was looking for clean full screen view.
At the bottom right there is a full screen icon which will hide most of the overlays except for fullscreen/minimize button

Hello my friend are you using the usb cable or the hdmi cable. I’m having trouble with the app. It’s a great video. I have a iPhone a Nikon D7100 usb cable and a camera cable connection from Apple. I can download all my pictures and videos to iPad and my iPhone. However having issues with app. Please advise

Hi, thx really useful video. I have ordered all the cables and mounts but before I buy the dashboard wanted to see if you or anyone knew if dashboard works with Nikon D5100? Want to use it as a field Monitor with Pixel 6. I have gone through all the comments, I know how frustrating it is to constantly repeat yourself 😁 Thx for any advice.

I'm using the cable that comes with the camera plus an adapter USB to Type C so I can connect to my Type-C USB mobile phone

sir why is it if I will use the live view I cant control my shutter button? my dslr is nikon d5600.
When you are in live view mode, all camera controls will only be available in your device, you can easily tap on "host" to regain control on camera
