- Ep 5 - Two fox try to claim my camp as their own. The fight to hold the beach and protect resources is over as fast as it began. The mayhem left behind will be a sore wound for some time.
Along with my good friend @djtudino we are putting all our survival, bushcraft, primitive hunting fishing and building skills to the ultimate test of survival. Being dropped in northern Labrador without food and only 10 survival items, along with a ton of batteries, solar panels and camera gear to film a small Hollywood production.

yes sir that was a rough day. Over time the camera turned into my version of Wilson from the movie cast away. It was never an issue to let true emotions through on camera after that.

I've spent a few years trapping. This is the kinda stuff that happens to ya in the woods while you are alone that nobody believes when ya tries to tell em! But you have the proof!!! Hahaha This was a great video!

Ah Matty what a wild video! I have to agree with DJ this is one of my fav video's so far. I couldn't imagine the rollercoaster of emotions you we're feeling in that one day alone. To lose two pelts, then shoot the culprit. Man alive. Great stuff! And I see your sub count has gone up a little! Very happy for ya boyo, though its nowhere near the count these videos deserve, its a good start. Stay strong.

This episode has some of the best camera work yet. What shots you got! There's no animal I love and hate with a passion like a fox. You have to respect the intelligence, beauty, and cunning of the animal. But those little opportunistic creatures will take anything! So bold. What a battle.
dude such a battle with these things. felt like a plague came upon camp for a minute. so much more goings on with them that wasn't shown on camera.

When i was a kid i use to trap muskrat and all they eat is roots and green plants never ate one Though i heard they were called swamp chicken .

👍👍👍👍👍 - What a loss. Two Pelts. That Black Fox was rare. That was the biggest loss. Little Red was a smart one, all right, but a little to bold for his own good. Unfortunate for all three of you. Our full grown muskrat, around here, are almost as big as beaver. That one was little. Well, on to tomorrow.

@@skoteoutdoors - you were in northern Alberta so you may have; and just thought it was a beaver. In the water the head looks the same. On land you have to see the tail (really get a good view of the tail) to tell the difference. I saw one on the road once so you would think the tail would have been obvious but I had to watch it as I drove up to it to see the tail from the back to know for sure. A flat tail from the side and a rat tail from the side look the same, unless you're within 10'.
How do you like the Leatherman Surge? It's a chunky fellow.
yes its defiantly chunky.. love every bitta this thing now. Used it day in day out, starting fires, marking logs for the cabin, all the filleting and so much more. She held up, it has a slight rattle to it now due to getting a little loose.

@@skoteoutdoors Just basics, keep your head on a swivel, do not clean, prepare store or eat in or near your tent/camp. Stowe your food, pelts, and goods, high up in a tree, away from camp, with a rope branch system. My opinion, that smoker, is a dinner bell for every hungry bear 🐻 within miles.

Of course he does. In nfld u can get a small game license for $17 that covers a variety of animals you can hunt. And no doubt matty got permission from the band to hunt on there land as well.
