Hello. I’m a collector of solar atomic watches. I just discovered the SSG 020 yesterday and, after watching your video, I pulled the trigger on it. Amazon offered me five easy (easier) payments. Thanks for the push.
Thank you for the review. Amazon lists it currently for about 520.00. I will wait...but definitely this watch will be the next addition to my Seiko collection.
I have the blue stainless steel I love it and it's not difficult to set. all you have to do is follow the directions in the manual after some time you will get used to it and you'll enjoy it more.
I have this watch and like some things about it. The fact that it is impossible to change the band to anything else (its a custom shape) and that it lacks micro adjustments or half links is an issue. The fact that I have to manual adjust for daylight savings time by shifting time zones is a pain. The crystal and hands are a bit "flashy/sparkly" making it a bit hard to read in bright lights.
I think my main complaint is the user interface is not that easy and everytime it's in rotation I have to re-read the manual to remember how to use it.
I have the Big Date model. Seiko Coutura Solar V194-0AB0. Similar case as this one but no radio sync and a different dial. Has a larger date display which I like but no day of the week indicator. Does have a 60 minute and 60 second time with a fuel indicator tho.
The no sync indication is at the number 4. Yes at 2. Crown has to be screwed down to sync. Very difficult to sync during a.m. Always sync at night . . lay the watch on its side with the 7 day window up and pointed towards Colorado.
Considering a Lumed C3 Chapter Ring and C3 Second hand for mine. Wish they would have done a screwed reveal case back instead of a press on. Mine keeps perfect time 24/7/365 . . . and I mean perfect. . . 2 years now.
You're wearing a Zulu strap on your Casio? How is it possible Simucom? :-) Coutura is a beautiful watch, maybe that watch deserves a Zulu too because bracelet is a bit too thick, maybe it could be 5 kilos lighter with a Zulu. Timezones around the bezel is just like a Casio Protrek prw60 but Casio is doing that much better, including DST. Off course,Seiko is bit better with attention for a details and with illumination. Visibility is not bad for such a shiny thing. A gemstone on that Seiko is....i don't know what to say...it's really too much for me. But nice and interesting video from you Simucom, just keep going
that does not make sense, if it is Atomic Radio Controlled to set the correct time every night, shouldn't it know if it is Daylight Savings or not, and adjust it accordingly?
That is unfortunate. In their defense, these days many watch companies do not supply a physical manual. They prefer to list it on their website, which is how I read all of my manuals anyways.
@@deneco4 yes, when you're in world time mode the second hand points to the time zone you're in and you can change which zone you want to see displayed.

excellent choice. it is truly a stunner👍
Hey , I am a noob in watches. I decided to invest in this watch. I am wondering , will I be able to make some meaningful profit after 10 years or so ?
@@singhprbt I'm sorry, I can't advise you on this. I've never flipped a watch. Thanks for watching.

Good choice, it's a BEAUTIFUL watch. Easily one of the better looking ones in my collection.

Not difficult to set with the manual; a little difficult without the manual.
Thanks Bro, I'm ordering it tonight.
It's one of my most beautiful watches. Wear it in good health🤘

I have 2 of these Cotura watches and they are very good quality for the price. 1 of mine is Gold and the Silver and Gold.Len Harrison Australia

Whoops my bad. I knew that but for some reason I messed it up during the filming. Hard to see those tiny letters through the viewfinder lol
Great review, I love this watch. I feel the same way you do.
Thanks for the comment. You have motivated me to wear this watch today!

Beautiful watch.
Yes, very elegant IMO.

A very impressive watch - but it is quite "chunky" and not much fun to wear.
Blue sapphire jeweled crown . . . synth but real . . . made in-hse by seiko.
An excellent touch. I think it really ties together the overall package.

atomic time doesn't automatically adjust for DST. Most watches have a specific function that adjusts for it; this one does not.
I bought the Coutura from Macys but Macys never sent the instruction book, never buy from Macys.

Can you move the time zone dial on the outside of watch?
Are you talking about the sub-dial at 6 o'clock?
@@degenerateWA No, the time zones around the face (lax, den, ny, london, etc) can they be moved to tell the time in different countries?

Noooo! It's too large for my wrist! Do you know of any similarly designed alternatives?
Not in this style. Its got a style thats very unique to Seiko. I say go for it. If you adjust the band right it should look fine on your wrist.
Does this have a perpetual calendar?
It does
Tengo uno ese mismo modelo, es una chulada de reloj, lo compre en una joyería dentro del mall, logré qué me lo dieran por $400.00; dólares
