I think you and Ember are ready for a second bird dog. You’ve done an outstanding job training Ember; for her part she has it down pat how much to push running / open slope birds to stop them without flushing. She’s the real deal chukar/ hun bird dog.

Thanks! I'd like to get another dog but don't want to mess up our rhythm and also need pigeons for training. We had to get rid of our coop when Ember was a pup and they really helped us build the foundation.

Don't mean for this to be offensive, because it is not intended to be personal, but I sure wish we would get off of the social media push and identifying locations for quality hunting, even at a broad scale. Pressure continues to increase and quality of experience decrease in due to numbers of people. I get it, it is public land and all those that participate ethically and legally should and are allowed, but all of the publicity and press have consequences and not for the better in my opinion. Enjoy the rest of the season.

For sure man, my sentiments exactly. The region is well known, nothing we can do about that. The specifics, good luck. Good thing I don't have a huge following

First of all, this is a great video! Thanks for sharing. I do aspire to hunt these birds in Idaho, but I will never go to Hell's Canyon. So, no harm there. I kind of disagree with the point that these videos are hurting hunting. I think there are good data to show that the number of hunters out there is actually shrinking... especially hunting with dogs. The consequence of this could be that there will be fewer recourses available for public land bird management and access to public lands for hunting. In fact, there are a number of campaigns afoot by groups like Quail Forever, etc., to interest more people in hunting birds. From that perspective, I think videos like this can be good for bird hunting. Thanks again for sharing your hunt!
