Ember is my first bird dog and it has been a challenging/fun/amazing journey with her to do one of our favorite activities.
2021 represents our second hunt season together (1.5 yrs old) and I'm so thankful for her!
2022 had a slow start as the birds were lacking until winter weather actually arrived in December. It also took Ember a bit to get back into the swing of things from being off most of the year during off-season. Our focus has been chukar and we made out first trip to Hells Canyon. With patience and a lot of time spent and miles trekked, the season had a strong finish with birds and her performance; another year to be thankful!
2023 has been amazing so far. We started off with mountain grouse and got a limit on our first outing! Switching to chucks/huns, she has been getting better at finding and holding birds for me - this is her niche. I love how I can trust her more and she will work with me. Pheasants have been a bit chaotic but we did bag our first bird.
