Hi I just followed these directions and think I managed to do it but for anyone else encountering issues, here was my experience.
No matter how much I loosened the screws, I could not get the damping to stop. Do not unscrew the screws too much, they will pop out soon after they get jiggly. It made me wonder what they meant by damping - they do mean that smooth resistance you feel to moving the ring round. At first I could not detect any change in damping.
So finally I added rubbing alcohol to the screw points even though I didn't have trouble unscrewing. And then! I felt a noticeable looseness in the ring. Imagine that the screws in the focus ring are pushing another ring inside - when you loosen the screws and dissolve any glue in there, the focus ring is looser and slides without much resistance.
After that I was able to follow the directions - hope this helps someone else.

If you need a filter for this lens you can actually cut one to fit just Infront of the shutter but just behind the lens mount

    I got a 7Artisans 7,5mm fisheye 2.8 second hand.
It was a little blurry to infinity between f11 to f22. At 2.8, it was a total blur, focusing only at 50 cm, nothing far.
After reading many websites, not one giving the precise solution for my lens, I found a solution.
    1) I set the FOCUS RING to infinity (not sure if it's important), the screws on it where half-loose.
(Too tight, it blocks the ring; lightly loose the ring focuses normally; too loose the focus stays blurry)
    2) I took the lens off the camera; on the back I UNSCREWD the black ring inside the chrome M4/3 mount ring by pressing the small hole with a tiny screwdriver (without screws). I turned at least 3 complete turns (5 mm move changes nothing)
    3) It hold the small cylinder with the lens part inside it (it's moving freely) and pull it up, it moves 1 mm up
    4) I put back the lens on the camera, check, it was in focus (finally!)
    5) I tight totally the screws in the focus ring, to make the focus setup permanent
Now I can't focus anything but the depth of field is so wide even full open 2.8 that only the subject closer to 30 cm are blurry. Not a big deal.
Jeeze, it was a piece of work.

All calibration done mk I. Had to use red wine as had no neat alcohol! Then I had to push the ring back like 15mm to get infinity focus to work.. and it does.. now perfect..👍👍🙏👍👍

Hi guys! From what I saw and read on the internet about this exact lens, I like it a lot and want to buy it to use as a CIRCULAR fish eye on my full frame Nikon z6. In order to do be able to do that I need to remove the lens hood. I know it was easily possible with the Mark I version of the 7.5mm lens, but according to my research it could be a problem with the Mark II version. Is it the case? Can you give me any pointers on how to remove the lens hood on Mark II?

@@El.Frada.directorcut Hello, after confirmation by many engineers, because the 7.5 shooting angle is very large, and the first lens inside like a bulb shape, if there is a hood, it will block the imaging, so we do not recommend that you use a hood, and we currently have no stock. Maybe there are companies selling in the market, but you need to find it yourself
