The German federal government has now once again put pressure on the regions to release new locations for wind turbines. In recent years, growth has often only come from old wind turbines being torn down and replaced by larger ones. With new locations, more wind turbines can be set up.
The pressure for alternative energies is currently very high in Germany.

    • @Tim_Nilsson
      @Tim_Nilsson 2 роки тому

@@nielsd.liltorp2402 Sweden is not _that_ far behind if we're only talking per capita.
Of total electricity production yes, no contest.
No other country is even close to ~50 % wind generation and there are good reasons for that.
What other options did Denmark have? Denmark has up until quite recently been powered mainly by coal and oil.
Denmark is also the largest oil producer within the EU so hardly a "green" nation in that regard. ;)
The electricity production in Sweden has more or less been "carbon free" since the 1970s. This because of hydro and nuclear.
Hydro was never an option for Denmark and nuclear was banned in 1985.
Another thing to consider is that Sweden for an example has almost 10 times the energy consumption of Denmark.
If your electricity consumption is "none existing" it's fairly easy to replace.
The main problem I see in Sweden in the upcoming future is the balancing of the grid.
All "green" energy sources are unreliable.
It is simply impossible to balance the grid if you don't have a stable source of production.
Therefore I'm pro nuclear no matter the cost.
Compared to Sweden Denmark has almost no reliable sources of energy and will be absolutely fucked if anything happens to the EU energy market.

My colleagues and I have designed a new wind photovoltaic and water co-generation system and put it into use, which can make electricity more stable and solve the method of storing electricity. I believe everything will be better. In fact, in China, the cost of photovoltaic wind power and hydropower is lower than that of thermal power, but not all places can generate wind power, photovoltaic power and hydropower, so it is difficult to become more popular. But this new system I developed with my colleagues could help with part of it. In addition, China's environmental protection and clean energy is actually the best in the world. China's pollution is caused by 1.4 billion people, but the pollution per capita is one-fifth of the United States. And our greening and environmental protection have been done well and have been working hard for many years, starting when China was very backward and poor.

It does not seem to be a fair comparison. Countries differ in size, population, industries and GDP.

Thank you very much for your video,
I think the following remarks from the comments are worth mentioning
    1. nature conservation/bird protection and wind power use can be harmonised if the wind turbine is switched off at certain times (migration, breeding etc.) when birds are particularly endangered.
2 Wind power use almost always implies similarly high costs for energy storage and transmission as for the wind turbine itself.
    3. the land consumption per kwh generated is about 10 times higher than for photovoltaics/solar thermal energy and 100 to 1000 times higher compared to other power plants.
    4. only stationary use is considered, never "mobile" use, e.g. on ships (sails, rotors).
    5. salt water remains highly corrosive and whether offshore plants will ever be economically viable will be shown by the actual operating time.
    6. the effectiveness of a wind turbine is calculated from the duration and speed of the wind (m/sec), whereby the energy content increases to the 3rd power.
As an auxiliary formula one can say that per m² of rotor surface, e.g. at a wind speed of 4 m/sec, approx. one tenth of the calculated figure can be taken from the wind as watts, i.e. approx. 6.4 watts(electrical). For the exact calculation, see "Betz's Law".
7.What the Sahara is for solar power, the "Roaring Forties" are for wind power. This refers to the zone between 40 and 50 degrees south latitude where strong westerly winds permanently prevail.
8.Anyone can build a small wind turbine themselves for their private energy needs!

You really need to learn the difference between energy and electricity... But let me educate you: Energy includes everything that uses energy, e.g. heating, cars, electricity, industrial production etc. but "electricity" is a subcategory of "energy".
Germany does NOT rely on gas for their electricity grid, but energy as a whole is a different topic, because their industry uses a lot of gas for manufacturing. Heating is also mainly done by gas but it's all in a process of change right now due to Putlers murdering.
Germany even produces too much green energy, so their windmills have to be temporarely shut down and solarfarms have to be taken off the grid, the solution would be a good energy storage infrastructure like hydrogen.

We've passed the point where renewable energies are now cheaper and more efficient than fossil fuels. The world *will* one day get most, if not all of its energy from non-fossil fuel sources; that I can tell you for sure. But how fast we make that happen depends on how fast our leaders act. Imagine the energy potential of China; solar panels up north in the deserts, hydropower from the many rivers that flood annually in Central China, and off-shore wind turbines..

    • @addygreen8919

TL;DR: Renewables are not cheaper than fossil fuels.
When you add the cost of storage systems or the cost of no storage systems, renewables are not cheaper (except maybe hydro power, when you have the landscape for it). We are not living in a perfect world, where the cheapest solution is also the environmentally best solution. There are a lot of "great" statistics, that show how cheap renewables are. But they do not consider, that there are not the storage systems and that this is why renewables are pretty cheap for specific times (when there is too much renewable energy) and at other times there are no renewables at all and you have to use fossil fuels. Building wind turbines and maintaining fossil fuel power plants at the same time is not a cheap solution and you can see this by looking at the rising energy costs in Germany of the past 20 years.
What is a cheaper solution? Coal is bad for the environment, but probably the cheapest energy source.
What is a cheaper solution without producing CO2? Nuclear power is cheap, if you already build the power plants. But you have to deal with other problems (radioactive waste, possible accidents).

En 1973. Was there an energy crisis. And there. Denmark decided that they will be a leader in. Energy efficiency. So that's why Denmark. Where they are today
Denmark is the country where their modern windmills come from.

    Optimizing Solutions..
Wind Generators are not a good solution in my area because Wind is intermittent.
I'm trying to get Wind Generators on the Mississippi Flyway turned off one week in Spring and Fall during peak Bird Migration Time because I have seen Big piles of Dead Birds including Endangered Species such as Lake Superior Piping Plover. Only 200 left on Earth. Hummingbird has high mortality.
We need to improve how this Technology is Applied by plugging Lessons Learned into Cost Benefit Analysis.
    Latitude Matters...
Same with Solar Power Plants, often buried under Snow here for 6 Months each Year.
It is questionable that Solar is beneficial above 45 Degrees Latitude except for special Applications such as McMurdo Sound Antarctica Station.
Above 45 Degrees Latitude, Solar Energy is poor about 6 Months of the year as measured in Watts per Square Meter of Solar Radiation.
    Technology Applied...
We must get better applying the Technology.
Natural Gas is the best here. Many small Natural Gas Generation Plants here are Remote Controlled by Computer turning on and off as needed. AKA, Smart Grid.
Pleantyful Inexpensive Gas from our neighbors in Canada and North Dakota.
    Balanced Cost Benefit..
Natural Gas is highly reliable, on an end to end Carbon Lifecycle Cost even compared to Hydro when things like Carbon emitted from Curing Concrete used to build Dams are factored along with Maintenance such as Dredging tallied into Ecology and financials.
    Opportunity Conclusion...
We have much opportunity to improve by Applying Technology where it makes sense based on Variable Local Conditions. Using Lessons Learned and End to End Lifecycle Carbon, Environment and Financial Cost Benefit Analysis.
