At 3:00 you can see the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe and how the USSR and then other nuclear power nations started to decrease their production of nuclear power in the 10 years afterwards. Then at 6:44 you see the 2011 Fukushima nuclear catastrophe, with Japan shutting down ALL of its nuclear power plants for a few years. This dropped Japan from #3 in the world in terms of nuclear power to nonexistent. These are the reasons nations like Italy never really embraced nuclear energy, and why nations like Germany, Sweden and the UK started to decommission old nuclear power plants--to prevent a Chernobyl or a Fukushima from happening in their own lands.
