Fantastic & impressive analysis as always. Totally agree w/your assessment that 996TT on the way to being collectible-it combines the rough mechanical feel of air-cooled with its Mezger engine (964 crankcase), supercar performance (engine & chassis), as well as modern reliability (cf air cooled & 996 Carrera both embodying respective engine issues). It is a very different car to standard 996 Carrera variants, which are much more civil and have more affinity to 997 and even 991 Carrera generations--smooth to drive as excellent sports cars but not have that exotic feel. This observation comes from first hand experiences of owning and/or having extensive use of these cars, including the 996TT.
Your reviews are so thorough. I recently picked up a 996tt in the hopes that it would be a fun car to drive while working from home and not seeing a terrible drop in value over time. Per your analysis, it doesn’t feel like I was far off. When you said, “collector car status”, I truly got excited. You made my night. Also, your beard is looking good!
Great review as always. Hagerty calls the 996 911 Turbo the budget 959. It is. I have a nice manual 2005 Turbo S. It cost 150K in 2005. I think they will only go up as people understand what they are. Analog, manual twin-turbo 911 that is small and yet somewhat modern. Cheers
The NA 996's have IMS potential issues. The 996 Turbo, GT3 and GT2 are the only engines without the IMS issue as they are the legendary Mezger Engines which are almost indistructible just like the Nissan GT-R engines. In addition, the 996 Turbo and GT2 turbos will be the latest and rarest 3.6L Turbo remain in the Porsches line up.
Hardly indestructible. Both the 996tt and the r35 gtr require internal engine parts once you get over 700 wheel. Strong motors but hardly indestructible
The problem in the UK is that it's hard to find an interesting replacement with a similar level of "exoticness". The R8 and GTR are about £10k more than the cheapest 996T, for instance (and if I had a budget for £40k-£50k, I'd probably get a 997T). And compared to a more modern, fast car eg a BMW or Mercedes at a similar pricepoint £30k-35k, it feels more special. So it still makes the 996T an attractive proposition for me.
Recently purchased a Carrara White X50 coupe (manual). The car is incredible to drive and while prices may not increase much in the near future, these are still a huge value in the 911 world!
@@MrQboT correct. The X51 package includes upgraded heads, intake manifold, headers etc. on the M96 engine. X50 is turbo-specific and includes larger K24 turbos, intercoolers, different tuning, and some other minor tweaks I believe.
I love your analysis! For all the vehicles that I've seen you review, it is very informative and explains factors that I didn't take into consideration or, rather, I didn't weigh one factor as much as I could have (mileage in this example, weighing in way higher than I would have thought). Of course, then 997 and the 991 would be good, subsequent, reviews please.
This is something which i would like to do in the future. There are some seasonalities in car prices in general and especially when it comes to cabriolets. Yet, it requires more data and at a more consistent interval.
New Flagship BMW M8 convertible so we can compare to your Lexus LC500 analysis. 1st time a Lexus looks like a super car IMHO and is directly competing with loyal bmw owners for 2 door sports car convertible .
It's great to hear that you enjoyed the video. Did you see the 997 analysis? It doesn't cover the C4S specifically but zooms in to the 997.2 S market. ua-cam.com/video/d2TnCYdgGX0/v-deo.html
I think you should not judge Cabriolet price evolutions during winter time to be honest… I did buy mine in winter when it was freezing cold and sold my previous cabrio during the spring when the sunny days were back.
Cabriolet: The back seat design is a mistake in the cabriolet as it leans you forward thus not as usable as a coupe. The material of the retractable roof starts to get damaged at the lower corner points on both sides at 80,000 miles or 20 years of regular usage so into the future a fix will be needed if you want an immaculate look as exterior patina is not appreciated on a porsche. So sell before repair of the roof. If you don’t mind that sort of thing and are not into track the cabriolet turbo S is where the bargain is.
Trading crypto now will be very wise but trading without a professional is not I lost £12000 carelessly trading on a platform then I was referred to Expert Felix he recovered the loss and made an extra profit of £4600

This is amazing. The Porsche community should really thank you for your amazing effort!
Cabriolet price appreciation is Limited, because the number of Dentists who golf, is limited.

Only a matter of time before all 996TT prices exceed their original sticker prices.
100% right!

An updated review on 997.2 Careera S would be appreciated. Thank you for what you do.
I updated it a few weeks ago: ua-cam.com/video/d2TnCYdgGX0/v-deo.html
996 Turbo X50 manual is Best Buy for future blue chip investment. No ims bearing issues .
Great analysis and video,
What's your opinion on the 981 cayman Gts!?
Thanks
E90 M3 would be a great car to analyze
Great work!
Great review sir, what about 996 turbo S?
thank you for the turbo update
Did u consider seasonality ( summer more attractive for cabriolet)

New market update: ua-cam.com/video/LWohuTDm7Uw/v-deo.html
*For which car would you like to see an analysis?*
Don't think I've seen one for Elise/Exiges.
I know it’s not in same exotic category but the 2013-2014 GT500 .
I would be interested in the RS6 V10 and if it would be a future collectable. Thanks and keep the great work!

1991-2005 Acura NSX
Really enjoy your presentations you must have a math background? I would love to see an analysis of 997.2. C4S.

I’m the most interested in Porsche 996.2 Carrera 2 Cabrio, 2004, black/black, man. gearbox, 75tkm. And yes, I do like your views… 👍
Can you do the Murcielago?
Depends where you from :) but still good point.
Values did not top
You're only panicking if you're a gippo porsche flipper and not a driver!
Do you want a simple answer to this? INFLATION!!
But how can you be a trader if you never flipped few?!?
Can we have an "end of the year" video, with a conclusion of the best cars to buy right now?
And a video about manual cars?
Thank you!
That's a great idea
Another awesome video! ❤️❤️ Am investing my time and money in crypto now, this new price is a clear sign for new investors to come in ✅✅...
