The builings and streets in chinatown seems like a better board layout than the two vertical sections in this. It looks like a harder to distinguish blob of locations although it does look nice and colourful.
I actually think the graphic design is fine. But I think what they could have done is reduce or entirely get rid of the small decorations (for example, a lot of grass attached to the actual spaces) and perhaps even increase the contrast on the numbers and line work (I think rising sun is a game that comes in my mind). I haven't played my copy yet (I decided to play zoo-vladis with my friends instead as a 6P, I thought it was good but not great, but I would like to try again in a lower player count I think 6 has too much AP and turn duration is too high), so I'm hoping to try this out as a 4-5P game (I heard 3P is lacking).
At least the new implementation kept some negotiations. But that’s what Chinatown was loved for, I think, all the negotiating. Better than nothing! Thanks for the review and giving Julia space to give her opinion.
I suppose both game have their target audience, which is great! Thank you for mentioning Julia, I would love her to participate in more videos. Cheers! :)

Yep, I prefer Chinatown layout too!
Have both, played both. Definitely agree with everything you guys said about Waterfall Park vs Chinatown.
Thanks, brother, for watching our videos and for your input! :)
