hey haydunn, been watching your videos since the x and y days. Just wanted to say I really appreciate you still uploading on a regular basis. I'm a lawyer now and lead a rather stressful life but i still watch your videos when i'm home, as its like a comfort zone. literally grew up watching your videos and still watching!
I wonder how much damage you lose if you use an accuracy boosting item instead of the Metronome, so Fury Cutter never misses. Obviously won't be as much of a nuke tho
Best thing about Fury Cutter + Metronome is that unless they frisk you it'd be kinda hard for them to damage calc the next hits. Add tera and sharpness on top of all that and it'd be borderline impossible. If anything the first fury cutter is basically a trap and lulls them in a false sense of security, and then by the second it's already too late: it's gg time, lights out, g'night!
Damn dude, you invented an honest to God delete button. I can't blame the opponents for cancelling, sometimes it's very clear(vo)r that you've been had lol.
Kleavor's been one of my absolute favorites to use in Emerald Rogue. I also used the Agility, Fury Cutter setup with the occasional Stone Axe if needed. It went swimmingly until I missed a Fury Cutter, then a Stone Axe, both in a row against the final rival battle on brutal, and got reverse swept because of it, lol. My main man's still Scizor, but I do appreciate his doofy lumberjack brother.
This reminds me of the Metronome Vaporeon set I used to run in BW2. Gave it Aqua Ring and Echoed Voice and it just sat there screaming at the opponent while gaining health each turn. Jellicent was the only thing capable of hard walling it.
I screamed when I saw this strategy. I've been using it for tera raid battles. You can solo lots of high ones with this. Great job for getting out the word of Kleavor!
Stuff like this is why I subscribed to Haydunn back in Gen 4. Throw back to Weedle sweep “I’m just gonna go for a bug bite” this felt like that! Love it!
Just wanted to provide a small update to the math. A rarely used aspect of tera is that if you use a mpve of the same tyoe that you tera into, and that move's base power is lower than 60, then it becomes 60. So the damage value for turn 1 fury cutter would be 60x1.5=90x2=180. Only other potential difference would be turn 2, idk if fury cutter works off the normal moves bp or the tera boosted, so it could be 40x2=80x1.5=120x2=240x1.2=288, or it might be 60×2=120x1.5=180x2=360x1.2=432 just depending on how the game is programmed. 3rd hit and beyond the math doesnt change.
YUHS! Let's go!! I mentioned Metronome/ Fury Cutter (Rollout) recently! So sick seeing it get the showcase! But I didn't even consider Sharpness or Tera! That DMG output is insane! Yea once you get that first Fury Cutter, as long as you don't miss or get resisted, you're good! Here's a challenge for ya! Sandstorm- it's everyone's least favorite weather effect! Which is why it's my favorite! 50% SpDef buff has been so good to me but it's that guaranteed DMG per turn that makes it so good, especially since Snow is what it is now. Can you get a team to pop off under Sand? The most fun team I've run this year is a Sandstorm Phasing team, w entry hazards and passive damage every turn. I've actually been running a Red Card Forretress recently that has been awesome for keeping the opponent pressured. Team doesn't set up for sweeps and surprisingly, it doesn't stall. It chips, putting lots of pressure on hyper offense. The moment the opponent gets comfortable and sets up, I'm Phasing them out lol I've used a bunch of different mons- when Kleavor was on it, it enjoyed the 50% boost, running Tailwind/ U-Turn/ Stone Axe/Close Combat but I'm going to have to try this Fury Cutter variant! Good stuff!
One of my favorite strats in SV is what I like to call "Diet Extreme-Killer Scyther" in which you use Technician Quick Attack, Tera-Normal, and Swords Dance (also Silk Scarf)
I put in some calculations and if this Kleavor is against a Crowned Zamazenta with +1 defense from Dauntless Shield on the 6th hit (for maximum Metronome boost) it does at most 34%. Keep in mind this is a x4 resisted hit: 252+ Atk Metronome Sharpness Tera Bug Kleavor Fury Cutter vs. +1 252 HP / 252+ Def Zamazenta-Crowned: 112-132 (28.8 - 34%)
If there's an equal chance for each damage value (not sure exactly how pkmn calcs its damage) then there is (without stealth rock) a 0.02% chance to 3HKO. With agility up, Kleavor is faster, and Zamazenta needs 2 hits. So a kleavor max stacked, and getting a free hit on the switch, has a 0.02% chance to win.
I started watching your vids two days ago and have incorporated both a version of this Kleavore and Vikabolt into one of my competitive vgc teams and they are working beautifully.
I’ve done the same but with annihilape rage fist and a shell bell so basically each hit taken grants more power which heals up more when dishing out power, great for them 5-7star Tera solo raids
I would love to battle you sometime my friend. I'm a little on the older side (37), but hey...I think we're winning in life when we can enjoy Pokemon at our age and still have rings on our fingers, right?! Keep up the good work and congratulations on your wedding!!
A pretty interesting channel. It gives out some legitimately interesting strategies that aren't framed with the usual "LOL look at this opponent talking crap with a full team of legendaries and then getting salty cause I 100% owned them in this totally not scripted video" narrative a lot of channels love to use.
Could you do the copcat shell smash strat with Prankster Copycat Grafaiai. Seems like itd be more reliable with a prankster user. Meowstic or even Riolu would work as well.
252 Atk Metronome Sharpness Tera Bug Kleavor Fury Cutter vs. 252 HP / 220+ Def Great Tusk: 328-386 (75.5 - 88.9%) -- not a KO Not even this monstrosity, with a 160 BP Fury Cutter and max stacked Metronome can OHKO defensive Great Tusk, what a society we live in 😔
this actually seems lowkey viable? it takes 2 turns of set up, which sounds bad. but the second turn of "set up" is a speed boosted attacking move, which is meaningfully better than if you had just used swords dance twice. and the second fury cutter is just a legit threatening move that probably kills with the first ones chip, and the third onwards just being auto-sweepers with speed high enough im pretty sure only priority moves could contend with.
For added fun, set up Swords Dance and/or Agility with Scizor, then Baton Pass into Kleavor. Might be a bit of a waste of time but the opponent would never see it coming.
Did you consider going silver powder over metronome? 144 power first turn but maxes out at a lower 576 base power. Helps with x-scissor too, if you're going to run that.
If the programming is the same as USUM, Fury Cutter and Metronome gain power off Instruct. Back then, I made a Verlisify Fan Friday using Scizor under Trick Room with a Misty Surge Swagger.
Honestly if I was on the receiving end of the kleavor strat I would just let it finish out. I made the mistake of letting this train derail so I’m just gonna sit back and enjoy the show 😂
I always found fury cutter an awesome move to pull off But I think it’s best version is in the mystery dungeon games as I recall they made it a multi hit move which got stronger each strike
Seeing 11 mins made me sad to see there’s only 1 battle this time, but that was my own fault for underestimating kleavor.
Okay, so you're not going to believe this
Yooo now I’m pumped to know there’s two battles!!!
It's completely understandable in the end 😂
A good time not a long time
How sick would it have been if it was 3 battles? 😂
love strategies that are basically "if you don't find something to do about it during the setup phase, and QUICK, you're DOOMED"
This is how half my mtg decks work.
Same 😂
The fact this steamrolled entire teams even with a resisted hit is insane.
The first battle be like: Ohko Snorlax is just a warmup 💀
Knocking out a Snorlax with Fury Cutter. Gen 2 meta would go CRAZY.

Damn dude, you invented an honest to God delete button. I can't blame the opponents for cancelling, sometimes it's very clear(vo)r that you've been had lol.
That first fight puts into perspective why you should always have priority, but damn this engine is mad once it gets rolling.

Reliable, no. Fun, HELL YEAH!!!
What are some counters even? Sucker punch?

Folks out here having bugsy flashbacks. As long as you don't get that 5% miss, this is vile
Haydun, you're a mad genius.
Haydunn question? What happened to the technology after people turn off their switches? We need those sketchs back.
This has to be one of the best videos you have done for Gen 9. I think it deserves a part 2! Absolutely an insane combination of damage calcs.
Ok I think this channel is gonna be a legit one
Maaaan I love these kind of gimmick strategies. Such a breath of fresh air!!
One thing I wished was the move cut became a bug type move!
This video is exhibit A for why you should always have plenty of priority moves on your team.
Or just protect, which resets the power
"960 power"

Seems like you’re calcing it without the fury cutter boost though. If his math is correct, fury cutter would ohko by the 3rd hit
@Mr.Watson-t1e I set Fury Cutter to 160 power (max) in the calcs. I couldn't find another way to increase its power. Is that incorrect?
If there's an equal chance for each damage value (not sure exactly how pkmn calcs its damage) then there is (without stealth rock) a 0.02% chance to 3HKO. Oh this is one of your best in a while, I loved this!
Used a lesser but similar strategy with a friggin Kriketune and it still wrecked shop in BDSP.
A kleavor is just overkill.
I use that same strategy with my Scizor in BDSP. Nice.
Jesus, that was a straight bloodbath.
I employed the same strategy in oras with my exploud. The combination of metronome and echoes voice is amazing
For added fun, you could set up with something that gets both Baton Pass and Coil/Hone Claws, to hit even harder and more accurately.

Liked the video before the battle even begins, this is an all time great strategy
The power buff to Fury Cutter from 20 bp to 40 bp has done a lot it seems. I wonder if Fury Cutter Venusaur would genuinely be usable now.
40 power is water gun/ember/leafage tier damage.
