A more appropriate way to describe what you're talking about, is that this song sounds like a river. It's flows and choppy and steady and chaotic, in a river type of way. But I think what gives it the "offbeat" feel, is that "I like rivers" is starting each section and ending each section, so there's a slight pause between the two lines, like a break in the waves. This song is pretty sick.

I love how his mind works because, this song sounds like a stream of conscious type of lyrical delivery. Also, I like how he uses themes with his songs all throughout his discography.There might be a few more that I'm not recalling right now but, he has a much older song called Water and another song off Garbology called the Sea. Oh, the Harbor is Yours is a really fun, storytelling track!

I'm stoked to see what ITS is going to bring us. His last concept album ended up being less on the nose than I thought it would be, and it looks like this one is going to be the same. The juxtaposition between [By The River]* and Mindful Solutionism is a pretty clear indication that we'll have a thematic variety going on.
