I'm about to swap my graphics card for a 7800XT to use as an eGPU. It's awesome that with the Asus Rog X, you can do this freely without being tied to Asus.
I've run into some issues installing drivers to get this working. I got it working using a Legion Go video but somehow it nuked my ability to pair Bluetooth headphones. I ran the windows repair feature and it fixed my Bluetooth headphones issue by changing the drivers that got the eGPU working. So I'm assuming there are different drivers we should be using for the Ally X.
yes that's right, asus rog ally x is only for traveling because its battery is bigger but it doesn't have a port to connect to egpu rtx 4090 compared to the regular rog ally version

This is impressive and a cheaper setup cost than buying a full gaming pc for 1440p ultra settings which actually dun suck
