Every time I listen to Bruch’s No.1 violin concerto in g minor, I’m in tears. It always gives me chill and surprise. My favorite melody. I can listen to it for thousands of times!

On constant playback for me: 1) Sibelius: (preferred: Hilary Hahn. Can't keep calm during the 3rd movement :) ). 2) Mendelssohn (1st movement, intro: one of the catchiest, most beautiful melodies I've heard). 3) Tchaikovsky (these days, I keep listening to Lisa Batiashvili. Hers is a more fluid, romantic rendering I think).

Whatever is this world going to be like without the Caucasian race? You do know that they are the people who wrote all this music; they are the ones who invented the instruments being played? Every year that goes by there is a smaller and smaller percentage of people who are the creators of the modern world that we know and love. What is being produced now is pure crap compared to this brilliance. I weep when I hear this beautiful music for the pure joy of it. I weep when I think of a world without it. Say what you will about the evils of European global conquests and subversions of cultures. What those people produced and gave to the world can never be matched.
