Every time I listen to Bruch’s No.1 violin concerto in g minor, I’m in tears. It always gives me chill and surprise. My favorite melody. I can listen to it for thousands of times!
I know the exact feeling you described, as I feel it every day listening to beautiful pieces or songs, including the Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1. Thank you for watching and for the lovely comment.
The conductor of the 2nd movement of Mendelssohn (with Julia Fischer) is Fischer Iván. The conductor of the Tchaikovsky (with Joshua Bell) is Valery Gergiev.
Thank you! It's a great idea about great viola concertos, but I must confess that I haven't heard any viola concerto. I will have to make some extensive research about them.
Wonderful music again, Kim…. thanks for sharing! I am working away and listening to this beautiful music in the background!!! Amazing composers and amazing musicians alike! They make me feel so humble……………………………………….. I can't imagine how you received 7 thumbs down, I really can't!!! Take care!
I know you didn't put these in any particular order but Tchaikovsky would be my soaring favourite. And I also know you want to encourage comment (or even dissent!) so I would put in a word for Erich Korngold's beautiful concerto. Those who enjoy violin concertos would certainly enjoy that one. It's here on YT with Nichola Benedetti. Great stuff!
I love some of Wieniawski's works but am not familiar with his 2nd violin concerto. Will definitely check it out. Brahms' and Paganini's concertos are divine! Thanks for the recommendation.
On constant playback for me: 1) Sibelius: (preferred: Hilary Hahn. Can't keep calm during the 3rd movement :) ). 2) Mendelssohn (1st movement, intro: one of the catchiest, most beautiful melodies I've heard). 3) Tchaikovsky (these days, I keep listening to Lisa Batiashvili. Hers is a more fluid, romantic rendering I think).
The Best Sibelius violin concerto players really Are Guila Bustabo Viktor Tretjakov ( a class of his own) Gidon Kremer ( not his recording) Lisa Batiashvili!
I don't know, I don't think it matches the profound nature of Brahms and Sibelius nor the romanticism of Tchai. It feels like an act to me. But the 3rd movement is definitely one of the best of the repertoire.
No Brahms? No Dvorak? And I would have thought Itzhak Perlman - perhaps the greatest ever?- would have got a look in? It's back to the drawing board I think! But I always enjoy your efforts, and thank you for that.
Again, emaculate list. Bruch violin concerto for me is....well....i can't describe it in to words, some things just better left unsaid. If you can, please go and watch Abaddo version of Bruch in youtube, the perfect representation of the great piece.
I finally got to listen to the Abbado version of Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1, with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the violinist Shlomo Mintz, and absolutely loved it!! Thanks for the recommendation, and thanks for the very nice comment. I appreciate it.
Wait a minute. I don't think it said THE 12 BEST...just beautiful moments...and they all are. Everyone has to make everything a contest. You watch a concert on.UA-cam and immediately it starts: yeah, it's not bad, but the 33 recording with Schnickelhauser and the Freedonia Phil is better🙄

Anne Sophie Mutfer sounds like pure evidence and grace, whereas right after her, Pinchas Zukerman is overacting and sugary.. Hillary Hahn legit made me rediscover this part of Beethoven's Concerto in D major, it is now one of my favorite pieces ever
Started off great but then a mornoic religious commercial totally interrupted the flow!!! I get commercials at the start or finish but in the middle of a nice classical piece is obscene. I'll not be coming back here!!! SHAME ON YOU YOU TUBE
Your idea of beauty is different from mine. I had to leave after the third piece. They're fine, but not exceptional. You, or I, could have done much, much better.
Whatever is this world going to be like without the Caucasian race? You do know that they are the people who wrote all this music; they are the ones who invented the instruments being played? Every year that goes by there is a smaller and smaller percentage of people who are the creators of the modern world that we know and love. What is being produced now is pure crap compared to this brilliance. I weep when I hear this beautiful music for the pure joy of it. I weep when I think of a world without it. Say what you will about the evils of European global conquests and subversions of cultures. What those people produced and gave to the world can never be matched.
What has "race" to do with it, anyway ? The Chinese are doing more to save classical music than most "Caucasians". And if the anti-Semites "prevail", you can forget classical music..
As an Indian, I long for Classical performances. But there aren't any here. Tears roll down my cheek every time I listen to Mozart Violin Concerto, Tchaikovsky 1st Movement and Sibelius 2nd Movement. You'll in the occident are truly blest! Trust me! You'll can listen to these treasures live, in person...

YESS IT IS AMAZING
Same with Brahms no. 1 at the ascension
I agree!
I recommend Dvorak No.1 violin concerto. It is the great one.
Hello, my friend
Your video is awesome.
Thanks for sharing. Have a happy day.👍🏼
the whole beethoven violin concerto in d major is one of my all time favorites
Perlman himself defined it as the goat
I mean the greatest concert ever written
yes, there are ton of technically advanced pieces BUT Nothing can beat Sibelius with musicality ... ❤️❤️🎻🎻🎻❤️❤️
Hilarys version 💔
Yes the sudden contrast hit me here. That Sibelius piece is utterly moving.
Q
I totally agree
I like that you chose the Shostokovich. It is beautifully anguished.
"Beautifully anguished", very well put! I'm glad that you like the Shostakovich piece also.
The conductor of the 2nd movement of Mendelssohn (with Julia Fischer) is Fischer Iván. The conductor of the Tchaikovsky (with Joshua Bell) is Valery Gergiev.
Thanks for another great list Mel. I have to go and listen to all of the Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky again.
You're welcome, John, and thank you so much for the wonderful comment!
Wonderful and restful. Thank the music and thank God that inspired these great composers.
Korngold my 3rd fave,
Beaten by Tchaik and Sibelius
Tonight I needed a Kim binge, immortal treasures, singing beautifully, and soothingly. Bless your living Melodious Heart. 🙏❤️🙌🏾
"Kim binge", I love it! :-) Thank you, Artie, for your wonderful presence in many of my videos. I really appreciate you. ❤️
Great collection 😊, I'd love to hear 12 beautiful movements from Great *Viola* concertos.
Thank you! It's a great idea about great viola concertos, but I must confess that I haven't heard any viola concerto. I will have to make some extensive research about them.
아름다운 연주곡 잘 들었습니다~감사합니다~🎵🎻🌿🍀☘🌹🌹☘🍀🌿❤❤

Absolutely beautiful music. Thank you for posting!

the violin solo in the third of Strauss's 4 Last songs is magical

So I had to wait until the end for my favorite, but worth it. Very nice choices.
It’s my fave too ♥️
Thank you!
As always beautiful collection....
Thank you for watching and for the nice comment!
I would include the 2nd movements of Wieniawski's 2nd violin concerto and Brahms' concerto as well as the first movement of Paganini's First concerto.
I love some of Wieniawski's works but am not familiar with his 2nd violin concerto. Will definitely check it out. Brahms' and Paganini's concertos are divine! Thanks for the recommendation.
2nd movement of Wieniawski's 2nd violin concerto is one of my all time favourites!💖
3rd from Dvorak violin concerto also.
@@MelodiousHeart1 I hate listening to wieniawski 1 cos it just destroys my self-esteem lol

Very Nice!
Thank you!
I love all of these! Great choices!
Oh, thank you!!
I would include Korngold’s Violin Concerto first movement. It’s by far the best and prettiest concerto I’ve ever listened to in my opinion.
I absolutely agree with you. Unfortunately, I didn't know about it when I made this video.
2:29 Beethoven felt like giving a certain piece of music a cameo.
I would recommend brahms, wienawski 2 and szymanowski 1 (esp. 1st mov.) too. Nice vid btw :)
One needs to hear the ENTIRE Bruch. It's terrific !
¡Que maravilla!
Paganini 1 1st and 3rd mvt and Paganini 2 3rd mvt
The Mendelssohn Violin Concerto will forever remain the greatest Violin Concerto
Shayan MB Agree. Especially when executed by Hillary Hahn.
It is by far the prettiest German concerto for sure!
I don't know, I don't think it matches the profound nature of Brahms and Sibelius nor the romanticism of Tchai. It feels like an act to me. But the 3rd movement is definitely one of the best of the repertoire.
N.1 couldn't be anyone else than Čaikowskij - That's one of the most beautiful themes in the History of Music.
sibelius violin concerto only mov1 and 3
This cough in 9:35 triggered me so hard
And people wonder why there is gang violence
Barber 2nd movement, korngold 1st movement, and paganini 1st movement (concerto #1) could've definitely made it too.
棒極了👍👍🌟👏🏽👍。
V.Repin desde niño fue un violinista genial
He is definitely one of the best violinists for sure!
I knew you’d include that section of the Beethoven.
:-)) Thanks for watching!
I can’t believe you completely ignore Brahms violin concerto :o
I can't believe it either. My bad! :-)
Hehehe, no problem. Nice video btw (:
@@edwidgzm Thank you. :-)
All of you forgot Dvorak no.1, believe me.

But I always enjoy your efforts, and thank you for that.
I - Beethoven
II - Mendelssohn
III - Bach
This inspires me to listen to more classical music. Personally, I’d choose something by Barber if this list had 13 spots.
I recommend tchaikovsky violin concerto
You probably never hearsd of Moritz Moszkowski - not only his violin concerto, but two piano concertos will knock your sox off !
A.S.Mutter.-Brillante sonido
What about the second mvmt of Prokofiev 2??
I would include a movement from Brahms violin concerto.
THE PRESTO 😍
The heavenly transition from the cadenza
I agree, third movement is my favorite
Warm ❤ greetings from Plus 👍
Elgar concerto slow movement

I agree, I should have included one of Paganini's violin concertos, perhaps No. 1. Thank you for the nice comment!
and Paganini's 4th concerto?

agree your list but where is korngold?
The most beautiful movement of a Violin Concerto 2nd Movement Paganini number 5.
Why no Paganini?
No Paganini ? Dislike .
Oh, where is La Campanella🤨
Is it just me, or all the players, men and women, beautiful too?😉
Hahahah... You are right, especially women. 😉

Bruh where's the M E N D E L S S O H N
Peter Quarve listened to it wayyyy too many times
Ray Chen burns more carbs with his eyebrows than a professional athlete. 😂
Almost all violinists use an excessive amount of vibrato, the worst is Pinchas Zuckerman in the Bruch concerto.
I like it.
I am more surprised seeing a solist play with 2 fine tuners...
It was awful, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought so T_T
