I wouldn't call an i7-6700 non-K "powerful" in 2019. The GTX 1660 is a good modern mid-tier GPU upgrade though. If he wants an improvement he should really ditch intel at this point and get a 3rd generation AMD Ryzen CPU, they're coming out on July 7th, and all the leaks show they wreck all of intel's mainstream offerings, including the i9-9900K at just about everything, while matching single core performance. Ryzen runs cooler too and uses less power, and their Threadripper CPU's are already at 32 cores and 64 threads, for cheaper than intel's 18 core 36 thread part. Leaks are showing that 3rd generation threadripper will have 64 cores and 128 threads (AMD's EPYC Rome CPU's have already been officially announced to have 64 cores and 128 threads) and will probably come out fall or winter 2019. You are correct though, I believe his computer was bought/built in around 2016 era, meaning the 6700 was just under the 6700K mainstream gaming CPU, while AMD was lagging heavily at that time.

Youre a legend mate. Within 5 mins you made me think about something that not even imageline suggested after MONTHS of issues. Apparently working in 48k takes up LOADS of CPU. I had no idea.
Pretty good content as always! Just another quick info, as i experienced weird issues with smart disable: The option "Switch smart disable for all plugins" should be used careully. In some cases that function simply changes the sound where you might not want it to. For example: If you have an audio clip that has a length of lets say 5 seconds and you apply a reverb to it which has a decay of 10 seconds, then the reverb gets cutted after 5 seconds (the sound simply stops), since FL Studio thinks that there is no audio anymore to play and thus also cutting the reverb decay because of smart disable. So i would turn that option off for Reverbs, Delays or PlugIns like Kickstart.
Thank you so much! my laptop sucks, and my cpu was around eighty-something in the chorus, but i did what you did and it got reduced to about 55 ish. thank you so much!
wow! u really understand these things very well, just the way u explained the content, just make it really easy to understand this complicated CPU thing, thanks boy. Best FL studio channel!
This video helped a lot thank you so much! Thanks for recognizing this as many fl studio users i know struggle with cpu usage including myself. Before i watched this video, I cant continue on a project right now bcs everytime i load it up and play it back it takes 70+ of the cpu usage and clips like hell so thanks again for the tips. Btw, maybe it was already on a long time ago but i just noticed that ring in your finger, congrats man!
It might sound stupid but that raise your laptop up thing made such a huge difference in my life a few years ago. Dead serious. You wouldn't think, but it's true
Sometimes using " fixed size buffers" I. The plug in processing tab really helps. But it is plugin specific so make sure you try it out on plugins that are taking much cpu and see if it works. I put it on on spire and it really helped a lot for me. Check it out.

@@inthemix It will, for sure! :D By the way I've found one interesting topic in my head, would be great to know your thoughts about this (new video maybe): "Synthesizing vs. ready made samples -- which, where, when?". P.S. As for me -- hope at some happiest day I'll be able to synthesize every sound that pops up in my head, because I really like such "scientific" approach (math formulas in Serum -- mmm, love this feature), but sometimes already created samples are so inspiring, that I simply can't resist and create some simple chord in a minute using them! Is there some balance? Or those are two separated ways? Interesting!

Well in the final render it womt be a problem so I guess you have to deal with it.

Love your content man. Very instructive and not only that, but in a way that's very easy to understand. Keep them coming my friend.
You wouldn't think, but it's true
thanks for putting this up man.. this video is really going to help a lot of people.. including me.. keep up the good work

As someone who doesn't close FL Studio for DAYS until the project is finished, this is such an invaluable tool.
So glad I found this channel, very helpful - Thanks!
Sometimes using " fixed size buffers" I. The plug in processing tab really helps. But it is plugin specific so make sure you try it out on plugins that are taking much cpu and see if it works. I put it on on spire and it really helped a lot for me. Check it out.
Thank you for an detailed and very helpful tutorial. You are a skilled teacher and communicator :) Have a great day!
So Helpful! Thank you for putting all these tips in one place 🙏
This is such a useful video. Made a huge difference in my projects. Thank you so much!
When i master for clients, I usually have 8 or 9 slots covered 😂 it is okay as long as you know what you are doing and not just adding random stuff that it not necessary
Such a soothing voice and great video as always! Gj!

Wow. I've learned so much from you. Thank you so much! Going to watch all your videos!
Perfect explanation. Thanks a lot. Another advice its check if you've parked cpu cores (unpark utility)
thank you so much mr. in the mix you are an angel brother! You explain it very well and professionally. Also your song Nothing to loose is pretty dope even though is not my kind of music
Dude. Your vids are super helpful. Keep them coming. I’m having problems with my computer lagging with spitfire plugins. Hopefully this helps.
Omg i was ready to change my computer and when i saw this video i tried what you said and it all workkkkkk thanks in the mix
Thank you!... These are absolutely essential tips to know because at some point, everybody is gonna have CPU problems!... It's part of the learning process
All of those are usefull and for the mixer thing lol, i always try to minimize the plugins i use on the mixer track but you know sometimes dubstep hits u hard and u use alottt of plugins
Much love! You are doing a lot for the FL studio community and helping us with solution to every problem we encounter.
Thanks a lot! 👍🏼👍🏼😊😊
Wait-wait-wait, how did you know that I've got troubles with one very hungry synthesizer exactly today? Ahahah, not kidding! Your videos are always made "right in time", but this one is for sure the next level! Thank you Michael!
Serum is a beast but also so CPU heavy! I hope this helps you out :)
@@inthemix It will, for sure! :D
By the way I've found one interesting topic in my head, would be great to know your thoughts about this (new video maybe): "Synthesizing vs. ready made samples -- which, where, when?".
Mike, your name is great.
Thanks for all what you have been giving out.
It helps me more than any body in the world.
Loved the video! Thanks Michael!
