Jon, you don't need to apologize for doing beach stuff. This is your trip and we're just along for the ride. I agree with wearing shoes when I am out. I do, however, like a pair of shorts when it's hot though. When it comes to living, I also more like a place like Chiang Mai compared to places near beaches. The suburb city of Busan where I live is around the country area that is inland. I prefer it that way!
The new triple mic on the 16 pros is insanely good. Just sayin. Awesome video like always. Almost 7k subs. Great job man. Just keep doing what you're doing. You'll get to 10k within 6 months. Maybe sooner. You deserve it.
Excellent place the Centara, good to treat yourself for a special occasion. I think the back villas with jacuzzi's were about 6k low season. Comparing this kind of resort to a 1k hotel is like comparing a plate of pad thai to a fine dining meal. Both suit different needs
Great video jon happy memories in krabi, and the private beach, like you I live in Chiangmai, I got in a bit of a rut not visiting other areas but as of Monday I'm off to start sering more
I think most of foreigners living in Thailand are already doing it: if not moving their permanent location (because it is so easy in case of renting), everybody is doing regular trips if with car, motorbike or flights. Everybody seems to have visited every place, that's at least my impression...
I stayed at that hotel in July. Got a room in the front building so I got a good view of the cliff. Better value than hotels in Pattaya or Phuket. Btw, you did not reach Tonsai yet. The security at the entrance of the beach was weird. He did not look like a park officer. And no beach is private so I would definitely not gonna give him any personal information.
Thanks Jon, I lived in Ao Nang during Covid. It was 80% closed. Had the whole place to myself. It's an incredible place. After just watching your Hua Hin video I am tempted to go back there instead (was gonna head to Hua Hin). I get worried though that it will be over-touristified like Phuket and taint the memory. Doesn't look that packed in your video. Where you saw the monkeys (before the climb) I got attacked by 3 soi dogs on my last day after my insurance had ran out - I was lucky to escape relatively unscathed. Also the sewerage pipes are a big problem on those beaches as they dont go that far our out and end up back on the beaches haha! Cheers,
For me I prefer Hua Hin, I like Ao Nang but I’m finding it so busy and a lot more tourist oriented as opposed to expat oriented, if you were in Ao Nang during covid it’s not going to be the same now I think I’m finding it busy (but I’m used to living in Chiang Mai) :)
We went to Ao Nang last December. It wasn’t really our vibe but overall still a cool town. Great place for jumping on island tours. And taking a long tail over to Railay Beach for the day. If you like Indian food, I highly recommend Ali Baba’s on the main drag. We are there 3 times! Full Indian and Thai menu. A few good night markets around there too.
You could be right, I’ve never tried, when researching there doesn’t seem to be a train station in Krabi, closest seems to be Trang, looks like I’ll be riding
Sawadee khrup Jon. Nice to see the 3 Lions now managed by a German Manager. Krabi always looks amazing. Those monkeys singing "I wanna be like you hoo hoo"
Geoff Carter semi famous youtuber just landed in Pattaya ...Chang diddy Chang .I have never been to Krabi except to pass through on a bus so i am interested in seeing how it is . I think Chumpon is great for a couple but would have limited appeal to a solo traveler like myself .
What a lovely video! I hate trousers ... If I could I would wear only shorts for the rest of my life .. I'm wearing shorts until it gets like + 15 in here .. where it is chilly, and you have to give up and put on trousers. Shorts are comfy.. they are for relaxing ...! Please, Jon, continue to complain about the prices! This is one of your best videos! p.s. It would be a good place to have a "summer" house :))
Whats the idea of a book with name on the beach? you could write anything. always wondered what Krabi was really like, I imagined it would be far nicer.
I thought it was a little bit strange that you kept on making videos going on and on and on about Chiang Mai and now I know why because you never traveled anywhere else in Thailand before.
Dhaa coz it’s blumin cooold and windy at the end of the earth and probly no internet or even full electric and gas and no one in their right mind wants to be there for more than a few days in the peak of summer
Jon you just talk about nothings, no solid information about the area, the camera is always on you drinking beer, please give us better content, why go all that way just to show you face, there's so much to do there and see, you're only showing up YOU - STOP - don't wing it, do research about the area, show us your hotel, find out the name, show us the foyer, the pool, your room the prices, show us the restaurants there, find the best places, even if you have a drink and something small to eat, it's not about you, it's about showcasing the area and what it has to offer, otherwise you're just wasting your money going there with no content = Your heading should be title of where you're visiting, lol what is the purpose of this talk, you don't even know what you're talking about
@@Peonia-Melbourne , appologies on the misgender, but the rest of my point stands. Don't be wound up over Jon's video style. This is how he mostly does it and we enjoy.
2:30 wow it is beautiful.
😀

Enjoyed this one and some good info at the end thanks .
Thanks mate

Nice area, flip flops and shorts for the rest of my life sounds like heaven😂
Really liked Krabi when I was there maybe a yea ago - need to get back there!
I love Krabi town but not sure on Ao Nang (as a place to live) to visit it’s great :)
Great video jon happy memories in krabi, and the private beach, like you I live in Chiangmai, I got in a bit of a rut not visiting other areas but as of Monday I'm off to start sering more
Thanks mate! Yeah I love being on the road in Thailand :)
I stood at that very spot on the beach out front the resort during covid times and I was all alone. Truly alone. It was surreal.
I think you went from Ao Nang beach to Pai Plong beach and Tonsai beach is further around by Railay
Exactly. It was before Tonsai beach. Do u know if it is possible to get there by foot?
Ah didn’t know that, thanks mate :)
Beach walk and talks are great; they are beautiful
👍
never been there, looks absolutely marvelous
It’s great but soooo busy

So random I just saw you walking along in AO nang, if I was 100% sure I would have said hello.
Haha yes I was walking around Ao Nang at that time :)
Don’t worry about showing us beach walks, I hope you visit Koh Lanta and do one or two there
Not sure if I’ll make it to Koh Lanta but would love to go

Can you take a "big bike" on a train? I had read they limited to 150cc (I'd be happy to learn otherwise).

Don’t miss the fire dancers that are on the beach every night after sundown. They’re on the beach at the end of the main road.
Krabi pre covid was getting up to 6 million visitors a year. I think this video has been made over and over again.
Many if not most of the restaurants don’t serve alcohol there. On the other hand, the Muslim influenced food there is so good!
👍
Good call! Krabi and Ao Nang and Railay are all great! Not as “discovered” as Phuket.

Been to quite a few places but Krabi was never really of interest, I much prefer places up North, also Petchabun, for the beach Koh Samet :)
@jondcanton Which places in the South/ and in Thailand, did you visit?
Also because it's one of the greatest little towns on earth
