For those having trouble keeping flat surfaces cleared off, I strongly suggest getting a cat! They clear those surfaces in no time flat, and so often that you'll get tired of picking everything up, and just stop putting things there! And you'll always have the cat if you need a decoration on your flat surface!😁🐈🐈🐈

I never realized our cat was just providing a service. It's hard knowing the cat is smarter and more organized than me.
1. Paper on horizontal surfaces, 2. Dishes waiting to be washed or put away, 3. Using the top of the fridge as a storage area, 4. Paper stuck on fridge, 5. Too much decor, 6. Anything on the floor, 7. Shoes, 8. Tops of dressers, 9. Kitchen counters as clear as possible, 10. Too much clutter/stuff in general.

Laura, Great video. We put saran wrap on top of our fridge & a couple of times a year, we pull it off & put fresh strips down to keep the top of the fridge from collecting dust. 😊

Great tips Laura thank you especially about the fridge! Mine is loaded with magnets on the side & nickname get out on the top! I'm pretty good about clutter but I kept thinking my kitchen didn't look good now I know why 😅
The corral tip makes so much sense! We have a gigantic trunk that houses our shoes in our small entryway. Eyesore. The boot mat would look so much nicer and take up less space. I’m excited to implement this new organization.

I just keep reminding myself "surfaces". If your horizontal surfaces are clear and clean, your space will look clutter free. Mostly it's actual junk which accumulates and you can throw out, on the rare occasion you'll find items which don't have a "home" to live in so you'll want a storage solution for them. And it's not a once-off activity, it's a weekly activity to keep the house clutter free.
