BEAUTIFUL SURFBOARD! been surfing twin fin fish's since i was 10years old around 2005 while all my friends had their parents buying them tiny high performance boards that last 1 year. I was always happy on a little fish, I even competed on it sometimes. The looks I used to get!!! Great times, back when you surfed something because it works for you. Not because you want to look like a retro hippie and pretend to have style all of a sudden.. I love Danes style of surfing, because their is no style. It's just how he surfs. natural style.
Love my Pavels, but never had a new one. I'd love to get my 7-3 Gephardt quad fin fish replaced...best board ever. It was recently run over by a Toyota in the parking lot and it broke my heart.
I wonder if having the fins a little forward would fix his issue needing to stand over the swallow for the sweet spot or maybe just a more upright fin but would obviously lose some drive. Any body know ? I’m keen to learn more about board dynamics
Fin box placement looks right for that kind of Fish, more upright fins would help with the way Dane surfs, but pulling the tail in would make a big difference too... Man he surfs so hard he's forcing lines out of that fish template that you wouldn't normally see LOL!
This was easily 3 to 5 feet.. I think fish though are meant for good size point breaks.. not necesarrily a groveller board to be honest. I'd use a mini simmons for that
