Anatomy Quick Tips: Necks

- It's time to get a good stranglehold on all of that neck anatomy. Luckily, learning to draw and paint necks isn't as difficult as trying to repeatedly pronounce sternocleidomastoid and larynx.
The art in this video was all done in Corel Painter 2021. You can find my free brush pack on my patreon page, no patronage required.

Can’t really underestimate how much help simplifying anatomy provides, especially when most anatomy books load things with detail.
well at any time you can just study other artists since they already had to pass throught this simplification studies, and I find it very productive to see and apply both ends of detail quality 😳
I always simplify all to shapes and planes and then add some details that are important xD
@@roberto.herber But if doing so you should always make sure to be aware of the complex structure. That way you can actually tell what it is they simplified and how.
@@roberto.herber probably best to throw in some deliberate studies where you try and understand and copy every aspect of the artist's anatomy, so much nuance that affects the greater whole you could almost never fully appreciate unless you force yourself to find the patterns
This is the stupidest thing that an artist can say, no offense
Hello, Si-Necks here. (sorry i had to)
Lmao your a genius!
take my like and leave
You are forgiven.
Dad?

distance ear - torso = hand width
QED: evolution has designed our neck to be strangulation-friendly
I guess someone down the line was reaaaaaally into choking huh
my neck is like a hand and a half kjhsdajclksdhnhjcsd
@@joaquincarcamo7167 you got that gawk gawk neck... sorry, couldn't help myself

Long necks are a 'sign of beauty'.
Short-necked models need not apply.
Actually, no. You don't use your whole palm to strangle. It's much easier to apply more force if you shrink the surface by using mainly the area between your index fingers and thumbs.
You can read all about it and much more in my upcoming book _Expertise That Makes You Look Like a Creep 101_ . So stay tuned for that!
"you know what they say... If you can see them from the front, wait till you see them from the back"
Sinix is a Doja fan
I love this series, I’m happy you resurrected it!
OMG HI ADAM I LOVE YOU ART TALKS, IT HELPS ME SO MUCH

@@tionanima It has been very on and off.
Let’s get this bread father
Yes, a delicious bread Son !
Scrumptious pastry, male parent!
I actually have a lot of trouble not with the head itself, but with the neck & shoulders positions. For me is the hardest, cuz no one tells you how hard it is to draw this areas and people tend to only focus in the head. But the neck has its own unique shapes that need so much attention as well, so if we cannot understand and don't draw them correctly, the drawing won't be good at all. Thank you so much for this!
rip the days of cylinder necks, was only a matter of time
Everyone wake up! Sinix upload a Quick Tip!!
I am here today so I may get a chance to get blessed by sinis's art skills
I like your pfp
@@ellaphant-6885 yee it's from a paintsploration I did
literally better at teaching me anatomy than ANY of the art teachers i've had and better than any of the tutorials they post on art pages on instagram
as a nursing student and an art enthusiast, your videos are really helpful to me!
Love how you break down every anatomical structure into simpler parts that come together to make that structure. It makes it a lot simpler to study & practice them
The best series on YT has returned!!!
6:47 the awkward _"..alright"_ made me spit out my soda 😂
Who else touches their own body when reviewing the structure section of the video? Or the whole video for that matter lol. So helpful, I love this series ♪♥
Mana from heaven.
These anatomy tuts are so great. The pacing, the length, and especially the content. I especially like the "reduction" bits, it really keeps whats important in perspective (no pun intended).
THANK YOU!!! I struggle with necks so much for some reason so I am very glad that a video like this exists!!
Thank you for these videos, I love the structure and the relaxed vibe to building something that can have a lot of variation, rather than a strict generalization.
It would be great to see your take on Quick Anatomy for teeth/mouth some day.
When I saw the notification I couldn't help but smile, it's like Christmas in january
I love you so much, you don't understand how happy you make me.
Your guides are easy to follow, your voice is incredibly nice to listen to, and overall your videos always capture my attention and make me want to learn.
I'm a student who struggles with severe ADHD and ADD so these are so nice how brief yet informational they all are.
Perfect timing on the upload, I was literally just having trouble with neck anatomy
He may not be the hero we deserve, but he's the hero we need. Great video, Sinix! I found the part about placing the skull first for tricky poses, then just connecting the connection points around it particularly helpful. Gotta start putting that into practice.
i was just thinking ab practicing sum more anatomy and i get this notification-

I didn't know I was missing "giraffe on the warpath" in my daily vernacular, you enlighten us in so many ways

Good job bro i learned a lot today from this video tutorial, keep making tutorials like this, and im here everyday, u got my LIKE.
I love this series, they proved my anatomy to much😄.
I wanted to ask for an elbow tips too, like how the relationship between the elbow and the rest of the hand goes and the shape basically, cause i have a little bit of a problem with drawing them proportionally and anatomically right.
Honestly your'e videos helped me more the ever, they are more simple and stylized compare to others so it makes it more easy to understand. Also I want to thank you for doing this series because I had a lot of anatomy and shape understanding problems before but your'e videos literally saved me from the depression that i had for a long time because of that. Ty❤🙇🏻♀️

YASSSS, I BEEN WAITINGGGGG ANOTHER VIDEOOOOO 🥳🥳
Necks were one of the first things i learned to draw, those long tendony things were what I drew first to determine angle of the figure
My go-to-guy for human drawing anatomy
god bless you Sinix. GOD BLESS YOUUU!!!
Helpful as always, but was kind of expecting an animation of someone whipping their neck around like a giraffe at the end :(
i cant wait for the arm quick tips! thats the body part i struggle with the most
I'm learning a lot from Sinix, now all that left is applying what I learned. 🤔
