Last week, I bought this kit. My first Gundam ever. I watched the Netflix series and never watched anything else before. Went looking around at my local shop and saw this kit and the details really caught my eyes. Bought it! Then a few days later I bought RG Sazabi & RG Nu Gundam. Building the kits are addictive.
be careful you started the slippery slope! The RG 2.0 is an absolutely phenomenal kit. I'll have a ranking of RG's coming soon, but shhhh it's a secret I'm working on.
I am beyond excited to get my greasy mitts on this kit. I’m really new to Gundam building and my favorite experiences so far have been the HG RX78 Revive and the MG RX78 3.0. This RG looks like the perfect mix of the two. I’m not the biggest fan of the RGs that I have built so far but it’s primarily because I prefer the most basic designs and the ones I’ve built all have complicated, large backpacks that really limit possibility. Planning to put a bit more effort into this one cuz all the reviews so far paint this kit as something really special.
Any RG from tallgeese to the Gundam 2.0 should be super solid. I believe tallgeese was RG #28, I know what you mean though. The freedom and strike RGs have a hard time standing, but to be fair their HG counterparts aren’t stellar either. This is one of my favorite RGs, I liked it so much I built it twice back to back. I hope you’re able to get it soon! It’s a fantastic kit.
wow what an effort, thank you very much!!! i'm the new design and looking forward to build my, when it comes. also thanks for enlightening the point with the vulkans :)
I think it’s the way my studio lights inflicts with the highlights of the video, it washed a bit of the colors out. I only painted the eyes. Everything else is straight out of the box.
@@JoesGunplaGarage Thanks. Not a painter myself, I just panel line, apply water decals, and then top coat :) Getting the 2.0 in a couple days. Can't wait!!
@@JoesGunplaGarage I'm guessing your camera's giving you an intentionally flat image that's meant to be corrected. Look into the settings or apply a LUT in editing. I think the Gundam looks cool desaturated, though! 😆
@@ECTOdash1 I did shoot in Clog2. I think my main editing monitor is just not color accurate. It looked very color accurate on that screen and that’s obviously not the case on other screens lol. I’ll have to try coloring on a different screen and see if that yields a better result.
Great review @JoesGunplaGarage..I made this kit the other day and I love it.. There is a few articulated options you forgot to mention…the torso does have extra dip down mode or shift it lower when you lower the legs and believe it not , you can actually pull out the shoulders more where the blue latches are on top of chest ..you just have to futz with it..just remove the shoulder armor first…and gently pull out the shoulders ..you will find what this does is it allows you to butter fly the arms out even further , don’t worry you can snap the shoulders back into place , I’ve already tried this many times .. also it allows a bit more range when you raise the arms higher than a T pose because it helps clear the shoulders from the head blocking issue you stated . If you don’t know already , you should try this extra shoulder option which unfortunately is not mentioned in the instructions
I shoot in CLOG which is a flat profile for editing colors for video. Unfortunately the colors look perfect on my main editing monitor, but when viewed on other sources this video looks flatter than it's supposed to. I could recolor it and reupload but I caught it too late into being uploaded that the video already had 300 or so views. It should be fixed from here forward as I do the coloring on a different monitor which fixed the issue. Just a shame the RG 2.0 video had to suffer because of it.

Pretty sick channel. Subbed. keep it coming.
Thank you for the sub!
Hey glad to have been a subscriber since your first video. I really dig your style and I can see a great UA-cam future ahead of you!!
I appreciate the support immensely! Thank you so much for being here. Couldn’t do it without you.

It’s a great build, you’ll have a lot of fun with it! If you have issues with the Vulcans there’s tutorials online on how to make them fit more.
Just got mine from Gundam planet. Can't wait to set it on my backlog and get to it sometime in 2025.
Haha I have the same issue. I’d bump this up in the build order though, this kit is fantastic.
Inspiring...will get it, if it's available...if not, eventually...much thanks and God Bless...keep it coming...
Definitely worth a pickup. Thank you for the view and the nice words!
Awesome dude
Thank you for watching!
Congrats Joe on the 500 milestone, thanks for the detailed review on RG Gramps 2.0.
Thank you for the views and the comment! I’m glad you liked the review and being part of the 500!
Did you paint the kit or just colour-coded the video to have less saturation? I really like the desaturated look on red/blue/yellow.

what's wrong with your video colors?
