  • Hi and welcome to the channel, this is my in depth review of the new Gsxs1000Gx and in my opinion probably one of the best bikes Suzuki have ever made and its there first attempt at this sort of bike!!! Forget the Versys and the tracer Gt this new Suzuki is the daddy when it comes to Japanese adventure sports bikes!

As you found out, the soft suspension in A mode was due to the damping being set off the default setting of hard. This is a very common occurrence with test mules, lots of test riders play with settings and along comes a reviewer and gets a false impression of a bike. Before you take a bike out for test "reset all" on the dash to get back to factory settings, especially on bikes with electronic suspension. You also took your preload off auto and used the manual settings. If you leave it in auto preload on the GSX it has an input on the damping characteristics too. Great bike, so much you can customise on this suspension.

Nice detailed review. Much appreciated! WRT front brake, so far no one has figured out how upgrade the master cylinder as it’s tied up with cruise control. Same master used on the GT, which has been out for a while.

Everyone ( probably just dreamers for a photo) was all over the GT at the mcn show and little interest in the gx and vstrom . be interesting to see how the gx sells compared to the gt this year. If i were to choose again id probably go for the GX but i got my low mileage GT for £9.5k last year and only just starting to love it after a few tweaks.
Todays new price of £12,050 vs £14,799 without options shows the level up on equipment but watching the long gx tech spec video made me think the showa eera suspension integrated with bosch imu and suziki sdms alpha is mostly gimmiky for me.
I prefer the gx stacked headlights

Lovely looking bike in black. I rode the GSXS 1000 and found the suspension a bit crashy over bumps, but otherwise a lovely bike (other than the typically poor front brakes) I think that the decent suspension on this bike addresses my main concern with the S version. Cheers for the review, really enjoyed it 👍

The food stop with summary comments was a nice way to set yourself apart from other channels and perhaps make yourself more relatable at the same time. Keep up the good work. A sport tourer should be evaluated that way and then issues presented such as vibs, significant turbulence with the stock screen and a seat that after about 100-150 miles is quite uncomfortable on the butt. The engine is bullet proof with a strong history, but the above 3 items make it a questionable sport tourer for me. Thanks for your review.

Interesting bike just like it is, but I’m already tired of tablet screens and origami aesthetics. Especially given its K5 heritage, I have to wonder if more would be attracted to the GX if it had softer lines, a simple round headlight and a traditional round (analog looking) instrument cluster. Wonderful review! But isn't it a little hard to enjoy such a bike in town and in mountain roads when you need quick low torgue? I have a bandit 1250s and this low torgue from 3700rpm makes it so enjoyable! Also i don't worry if i carry my wife and face a sudden uphil turn at low speeds. I test rode the Moto Guzzi V100 mandello and felt that it has about the same torgue as mine , a little higher but no big difference. I want to change my bandit for something else after 15 years that i own it , and i am afraid that with bikes like the GX i will get dissapointed. What is your opinion?

Love the bike but it's just too expensive in my opinion. It's not far off the S1000XR price. And when you break it down, it's a 20 year old engine in a frame Suzuki already had but just added fairings to it. Other than cruise control, there's not really anything that improves my riding experience enough to justify the price. TFT dash, quickshifter, rider modes, etc. are all gimmicks used by manufacturers to justify inflated prices, but don't really change the riding experience substantively. Perhaps you can say the active suspension is "new and improved" but I don't think 15 grand justifies it.
