Mufasa is technically not a remake, just a sequal/prequel to a remake, but it itself is not z remake and a original live action, their is a small difference

This is so unprofessional. Disney should know that 1, remakes and live action adapations arent gonna hold them up much longer, but 2, NOBODY wanted Mufasa. NOBODY asked for Mufasa. Disney is so scummy. Sonic 3 deserves all the theater space in my opinion. Mufasa looks horrible and I keep getting ads every day on UA-cam for it. I haven’t gotten a single ad for Sonic 3 at all. And my mom had to buy theater chairs to see Sonic 3 a week and a half early so we could watch it on Christmas. It was amazing. I loved that movie so much it’s one of my new favorite movies. I used to work at a movie theater and Disney definitely had a monopoly over theater auditoriums. they make you put their movies in the biggest auditoriums and most amount.
They don’t control my favorite theater to go to they knew sonic was gonna be a good movie so they put it front and center and mufasa is literally in the attic one that you can’t see without purposefully looking for it like legit they went like eh not doing that and hid it I did see people going to it however the main theater was full I haven’t see it that packed at all

I seen Mufasa in theaters yesterday and I thought it was a alright movie but when I was leaving the theater I saw numerous people excitedly walking with Sonic 3 merchandise and I thought: People are really excited for Sonic 3. Disney’s already making more than enough money with MCU, Star Wars, the Avatar films, etc. Why do they have to be so desperate? Paramount has recently been going through some financial problems including layoffs and the like. It’s obvious that Paramount needs this. Sonic 3 has saved the day just like Sonic and Shadow saved the world in Sonic Adventure 2.
So funny story right I go to the theatres, get my ticket, popcorn and my soda, went to my seat and then after a minute there were these other ads for the other upcoming movies. But the one that got into me was the "Watch the most recommended movies!" Hell, Sega may have been one their rivals once, but they've literally partnered together in recent times(Olympic games, Smash Bros). I just watched Sonic 3… Mufasa can eat its heart out. The movie is fantastic and it absolutely deserves to steam roll Mufasa. (I loved how when I got to the theater, Mufasa was being played in the theater room that’s the furthest away from the concessions stand, with the door behind a wall that makes it hard to notice, and just happens to be back by the restrooms. Kinda speaks volumes to me about what my local theater thinks of the movie. XD)

The funny thing is, Disney sees non US markets as trash. They're shutting down their channel in your country because they think disney+ is better. And yet, they expect non US countries to still respect them after treating them badly?
Never thought we'd live in a world where Disney is turning sour with every passing year and the company we used to admire for giving us the classic films we grew up with are now tarnishing them with hollow live action remakes. And now we have the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, one I grew up loving as much as Disney, swooping in and saving us. Sonic's creative team gave such a damn about the audience that they could have stunt casted Tails and told the audience to shut up, instead, they cast Colleen O'Shaughnessey who's been Tails's game voice for the last 10 years. and by the way, having Tail's cameo in the first film was just a surprise, they had no idea it would get a sequel and he would become a full-fledged character. even Coleen thought she would be recast, but the director told her, she was the first and only choice for the franchise. that's a studio that gives a damn about the fans
Technically lion king 2019 did make bank, not that i would have like it to but it did and this is how the remake craze from them has lasted this long even though critics have slandered them for years. Mufasa for one i don’t think the casual person understands what it’s about so any nostalgia bait for it would not work but i think they will look at this and take even worse lessons and be even less original than ever before

I'd never heard of the Mufasa movie until I was looking up showtimes for Sonic 3 right after Christmas. Was planning on seeing it once the bulk of people had already done so especially since I had already watched the other 2 in theaters. When I saw it, I was like "huh, when did this drop? Eh, don't care, seems stupid." And now, with my local theater actually showing Sonic on their specialty high-quality screen still, I might go and re-watch the movie on it just to show my support.
I noticed the same thing at my theater, I was looking forward to watch Sonic 3 on the more premium screens available but they only are showing the movie on the regular screens. Meanwhile Mufasa is playing on all the special rooms with all the fancy more premium technologies.
Disney is like that high school bully that bullies their way to get what they want and the game movie industry is like the new kid that puts the bully in place

Mufasa was a great movie but Disney(the company) has been acting very scummy in recent years.
This is so unprofessional. Disney should know that 1, remakes and live action adapations arent gonna hold them up much longer, but 2, NOBODY wanted Mufasa. NOBODY asked for Mufasa. But what people did want and asked for was Sonic 3. The damn movie has been talked about since 2022! Of course everyone goes to see a movie they have been waiting for for 2 years. Mufasa just came randomly out of the blue, was made all of a sudden and its another one of Disneys pointless remakes. Disney needs to learn if they want to earn money and if they want people watch their movie, they need to👏 COME 👏UP👏 WITH👏 SOMETHING👏 NEW👏.
We all know Sonic, most of us are familliar with the characters, but we have been wanting to know more about them, see them in a new light. Mufasa did not need that. He was a good character either way, the Lion King is still one of my favourite old disney movies. Mufasa was unecessary, unwanted and unexpected, but Sonic 3 was not. And Disney continues to look up thinking why everyone would rather want to see Sonic 3. We all know why. Except for Disney.

Sonic 3 deserves all the theater space in my opinion. Mufasa looks horrible and I keep getting ads every day on UA-cam for it. I haven’t gotten a single ad for Sonic 3 at all. And my mom had to buy theater chairs to see Sonic 3 a week and a half early so we could watch it on Christmas. It was amazing. I loved that movie so much it’s one of my new favorite movies. I hate Disney and how they treat their fans they don’t deserve a penny.

I used to work at a movie theater and Disney definitely had a monopoly over theater auditoriums. they make you put their movies in the biggest auditoriums and most amount.

I go to the theatres, get my ticket, popcorn and my soda, went to my seat and then after a minute there were these other ads for the other upcoming movies.
But the one that got into me was the "Watch the most recommended movies!"
There were 3 in total showed, I forgot who were the 2 other ones cuz I didn't really give two shits about them, but the FIRST one that was shown was... You guessed it, Mufasa.
Sonic 3 was NOT there.
A day after I find out that Disney was forcing theatres to show more of their movie, and the time I saw the ads for recommended movies to watch, yeah, I see why Sonic wasn't shown there.

1:14 yeeah overseas wise Mufasa also flops. In my country Sonic ticket got sold fast while Mufasa is like 10% filled even less than 1 hour before cinema start it. Kids love Sonic faar more than Live action Disney stuff.

If Disney is going to censor comments about hedgehogs, try to sabotage sonic 3, attack sonic fans on the internet and also buy out theaters to try to ruin it and etc, then that gives me even less of a reason to see their mufasa movie, and i wasn’t even interested in disney’s mufasa movie since it is not animated and it also ruins the backstory of mufasa and scar from the previous spirce material too.
It shows that Disney is not professional and should stick to exclusively to Disney+ if they're going to be this sad and pathetic about it

You see Disney, Sega was playing the long game with it's public relations, so much so they knew exactly what they wanted and what they'd be willing to purchase and by teaming with paramount... Well I dunno much about them but they knew not to be cheap about making it so that's a plus in my book.
I just watched Sonic 3… Mufasa can eat its heart out. The movie is fantastic and it absolutely deserves to steam roll Mufasa. (I loved how when I got to the theater, Mufasa was being played in the theater room that’s the furthest away from the concessions stand, with the door behind a wall that makes it hard to notice, and just happens to be back by the restrooms. Kinda speaks volumes to me about what my local theater thinks of the movie. XD)

I was in a family trip this Christmas(Sonic 3 release here in Brazil), I managed to watch it in the city we were, today I asked my friend "Have you seen Sonic 3?" and somehow there's not a sign of Sonic here, only Mufasa and Moana...

They're shutting down their channel in your country because they think disney+ is better. And yet, they expect non US countries to still respect them after treating them badly?

Never thought we'd live in a world where Disney is turning sour with every passing year and the company we used to admire for giving us the classic films we grew up with are now tarnishing them with hollow live action remakes. And now we have the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, one I grew up loving as much as Disney, swooping in and saving us. Giving us hope that there are good and talented people still alive and willing to continue giving us true art. I feel like I'm in a dream where Sonic is saving us from big bad Disney and I love it.
What’s worse is that they are trying to do remakes of things that probably some of us didn’t grow up with and came out when were beyond children like moana and tangled and that’s sad
Best parts of the movie? Jim Carrey, Shadow (Keanu Reeves) and his story, and the fight scenes. Oh, and don’t forget my boy metal sonic at the end!

Disney really thought they stood a chance, it's so cute really. one is a franchise that stumbled at the beginning, but sorted it out and listened to the fans, and made the right changes, and the other blames the fans every time a franchise fails. the lion king should have been making bank right now, and no one cares.
Sonic's creative team gave such a damn about the audience that they could have stunt casted Tails and told the audience to shut up, instead, they cast Colleen O'Shaughnessey who's been Tails's game voice for the last 10 years.
and by the way, having Tail's cameo in the first film was just a surprise, they had no idea it would get a sequel and he would become a full-fledged character. even Coleen thought she would be recast, but the director told her, she was the first and only choice for the franchise. that's a studio that gives a damn about the fans

Technically lion king 2019 did make bank, not that i would have like it to but it did and this is how the remake craze from them has lasted this long even though critics have slandered them for years. Mufasa for one i don’t think the casual person understands what it’s about so any nostalgia bait for it would not work but i think they will look at this and take even worse lessons and be even less original than ever before

@ticoguias Yeah, they did the opposite of what Walt wanted. He doesn't want to make sequels and wants to tell different stories, and it's their fault for their greed and ignorance as to why they are also digging their own grave.
Some sequels are good like Toy Story 2 and 3 Inside Out 2 and Lion King 1 1/2 but still… If Disney wants to make sequels, Disney must put their heart and soul into them to be as good, as successful and maybe better than the original movies.
@nicholasertze835 well yeah not all sequels are bad but some of them are not needed, but yeah if they want to put their heart and soul into it to make them and don't mess up the pacing of their stories the people are making, like Moana 2 since it was supposed to be a series on Disney+ but they make it into a movie which messed up the paced of the story.

Disney had been a cash cow for years they are making plenty. Most of their films are hits and make big profits. Sonic has been immensely advertised and folks been waiting for years to see it. Cant win it all Disney.

Mufasa is a soulles empty cash grab that no-one asked for. Sonic 3 is one of the most anticipated movies in the WORLD where paramount cooked up a FEAST and served us sonic fans well. Disney aint winning here.

I'd never heard of the Mufasa movie until I was looking up showtimes for Sonic 3 right after Christmas. Was planning on seeing it once the bulk of people had already done so especially since I had already watched the other 2 in theaters. When I saw it, I was like "huh, when did this drop? Eh, don't care, seems stupid." And now, with my local theater actually showing Sonic on their specialty high-quality screen still, I might go and re-watch the movie on it just to show my support.
Sonic just prove to us that we cant overcome a Chinese game but somehow overcome the titan that is Disney.

I noticed the same thing at my theater, I was looking forward to watch Sonic 3 on the more premium screens available but they only are showing the movie on the regular screens. Meanwhile Mufasa is playing on all the special rooms with all the fancy more premium technologies.
