Who actually cares about the Oscar in 20 years?

I've been a Sonic fan since the 90s. Not the early 90s, but early enough. Looking back on it, it's no wonder I felt obligated to shower every single day, but it's nice to actively watch the decency coming back AS WELL AS people finally identifying it as what it is: for KIDS. But even better than that is that the tacky, hand-holdy writing is expertly done in so many more ways than critics OR fans were watching. As opposed to previous entries like Sonic X trying to have an additional character enjoying Sonic's presence as a representation of the child viewer who cringes just as much as their parents, they put Sonic in the role of relatable kid and keep feeding *him* the lessons, experiences, and emotions. The cherry on top? The lessons are all "why" lessons. They're not the "whats" and "hows" that got dumped on Gen X and onward. As opposed to feeding easy feel-good vibes (which are handled in a healthier way as well) like disney's been doing for decades or just leaving morals hanging like the games did when I was a kid - and I cannot stress enough that it did not help me mature back then - these movies are teaching kids to not only butt heads with your problems, but to consider what drives those problems and only use the bigger stick when it's absolutely necessary. They're lessons of leadership, chivalry, level-spiritedness. And they're so casual and not so fan-exclusive the way the games have been in the past. It all leaves me with Thanos on a farm feels tbh.

it feels a little rushed in the beginning but overall, really good

Marvel Rivals felt like early Overwatch and it was great, but after playing it for a month now I feel that it's estabilishing its own very unique identity more and more, feeling less and less like Overwatch, and because of it it's even greater. Despite being very busy with college, I still make time to play Rivals for hours, if players do that, then it's a solid proof that the game is totally worth it!

POV: Disney: Oh wow sonic movies is earning more than us. If we try and shut down the movie the fanbase totally wont get mad and start a f**king riot and will be like: OH WOW I CAN'T FIND THE SONIC MOVIE. NOW TIME TO WATCH MUFASA. this is some of the most inane and absurd changes for qualification ive ever heard of. this dei crap has been a thorn in every industry's side for the last year, and now this is just about to kickstart a full blown reform to flush this crap and every single political agenda holding individual out of the cinema industry. similar crap has happened in the games industry and it isnt going to fly anymore. as an artist, i have one thing to say to all this crap: either start caring about the product you are making, or see yourself out so someone who does care gets the job that both they deserve and we need.

my super mega sonic fan boyfriend and i went to see it and he could point out every sonic reference from shows, comics, and games. any casual fan could pick up on at least a few i’ve never seen a sonic show or played a game in my life and even i immediately picked up that shadow skates with his rocket boots because maria rollerskated kids movies treating their audience like kids but also knowing kids aren’t idiots is so great and i wish more did it

Another example of kids movies with darker themes is the first incredibles movie and the way the story was written was beautiful. I wondered, why did this person sue Mr incredible even after saving his life? As a kid, even I understood some levels of injustice and emotion from watching this film and I was OBSESSED with it despite not knowing there were layers to it until I watched it again years later and it made me love the story even more. Making a kids movies shouldn’t stop you from exploring more in depth storylines and darker themes just because kids are too “young” to understand is ignorant.
