Bro, across the ocean in Sri Lanka :) Nice fishing. Do you use a heavy duty leader? That line near the hook looks pretty heavy. What's the breaking strength of you main line and leader?

Thanks for the quick reply. I use 50lbs leader and 20 lbs braid here in Colombo. But we don't target rays. Had a few strong hooks ups in the past where the line broke off, possibly its these guys... Thanks again and tightines! @@CatchaFishandCook

@@RollerGuideX Yes bro, It may be these guys which broke of your line. 20 lbs line is too light for rays. Even they sometimes break off 50 lb lines. Setting suitable drag in reel is very essential for bringing them down👍 Thankz for the support😍

yeah. When we troll lures off shore, i bring the big boys out. 80 class line and 50 and 80 penn internationals. I even have an ancient Penn Senator 14/0 with 130 pound line. Shore casting we mostly catch trevally, barramundi, queenfish, barracuda and smaller reef fish species. Rays are not really targetted here but sometimes end up being caught. But nobody has caught the sizes you have here on rod and reel to my knowledge. Mostly cos we go very light gear, circle hooks..
