    Personally I love that dark interior. It's like an old garden shed or, as someone said, a Viking ship...or any old ship. Very cosy!

      I am very fond of it too! I guess its like wanting to maybe redecorate a room in your house, if every room looked the same!

    Thank you for posting this, it was very helpful as I'm currently gutting my boat for a full rebuild this year and you've answered a few questions I've had. Cheers!

    You can get electric hot plates that plug into your power only when you need it, they come in single or double hot plates. With regard to solar panels, do you need to change your battery size or go lithium?

    • @mynarrowboatlife
      @mynarrowboatlife  Рік тому +5

      I did consider that option, although as I’m only running a 12v electrical system and they only come in 240v it wasn’t an option unfortunately. In terms of your other question, I’m a little confused. I already have lithium batteries or are you asking about buying them yourself?

      @@mynarrowboatlife no I DIDNT REALISE YOU ALREADY HAD LITHIUM BATTERIES.

    Fantastic vlog! - interesting about solar, so many people wish they'd had more..... Re the laptop you could always just get a really small portable invertor just for that?

    • @mynarrowboatlife
      @mynarrowboatlife  Рік тому +5

      Thanks! Yeah if I did get an inverter it would only be small

    Yes it was interesting. I’ll be buying a boat in a month or so and it helped me think about my choices. Thank you ☺️

    I love the inside of your boat and the tunes you play. That intro melody is so addictive, I’d like to hear the whole thing or is that all you created. It’s like you and your boat have come from another century 😊

      This is exactly the comment I needed on a cold frosty morning ❤️ All the music in this particular video, was written especially for it and so only exists for that reason. Although I do have several musical projects where I make music in a more traditional sense ☺️

    Why not get a semi permanent gas drop in burner for your stove? You can get virtually any size & shape of burner nowadays.

    Hi Bones, that was very interesting. I think we could all find things we would change after living with them for a while. Keep warm. ❣

      Yeah I agree, and in the process of making the video I realised how much I wouldn’t change as well

    Oh, yes-- a water back on a wood stove is a good idea; as I recall, my grandmother had one on hers. It also had a "trash burner"--sort of a small 2-lid portion that served both for heating up small items like a teapot and getting rid of combustible trash. Alternatives to gas appliances sound like a very reasonable decision. There are (or at least were) also gas-powered refrigerators. Cruising The Cut had a video about washing machines--he settled on a 12v (?) one that could have the hot water cycle turned off, saving a lot of electricity. It was also very compact. What is the brand and model of your stove?

      @mynarrowboatlife  Рік тому +1

      My stove is made by ESSE

      Seems to be a first-rate stove; the company dates back to the very early days of cast iron stoves, when most people were still cooking and heating with fireplaces.

    Get one of the 12v cigarette to 230v plugs bud really cheap I think 150 watt so your loss in conversion will be next to nothing 😁

    • @mynarrowboatlife

      I did have one! But it didn’t deal well with the fluctuation in volts you sometimes get. Especially voltage drop over the length of my boat

    Maybe buy a battery bank for your computer/phone? You could actually charge it in town when you do your laundry?

    Your vlogs just keep getting better and i love your boat and music , they are unique to you and are uncomparable, thats your creative gift . Here in my simple home in the mountains i have my wood burner for heat and cooking in the winter and its been my dream to heat water from it as i have another seperate woodburner outside for hot water, that was one of my mistakes! I have a gas cooker for summertime, its a great thing to have indeed. Totally understand about having a bigger water tank for a good reserve of water. Ive just installed a 2500 litre one here! Great advise in this vlog . Your nearly at 1000 subscribers!🍀🌿
