I asked my dealer in Japan and he said that it's not possible. He is also useless and installed (and apparently charged me for) side window rain shield visors that I didn't order and when removing them scratched the paint. So just be aware that depending on the quality of your dealer, you may have to do this yourself.
some people think showing your license plate is a security risk as someone could look you up in your records then improperly visit you. Probably not a high level risk but it's a crazy world and unfortunately precautions need to be taken. Totally agree on seatbelt alarm
I asked the dealer to disable the ASC (accelleration sound control) before delivery. They can do this via computer. The current owner's manual reckons that the dynamic engine sounds are only enabled during sport mode, but since my ASC was disabled when I got the car, I can't test that claim.
The ASC adds sound with a lower frequency than the real engine sound. Personally the idle sounds a bit better to me with the ASC. However at acceleration I far prefer the real sound. More raw. The main benefit of disabling the ASC is huge. Much quieter when cruising or at high RPM! For me that encourages proper use of the full RPM range. The seat belt chime gets too loud. Sometimes you are moving the car on the driveway. The defeat shown worked, but only for a short while. Suggestions???
Quick question on changing wheels do you have to fiddle with the TPMS on the car?. I bought some 17x8 Motegi wheels 38 offset for some winter tires. Would anyone have a good suggestion on a winter tire and size for those wheels? Thank you I live in the Vancouver area.
"The car makes an annoying sound when I dont wear my seat belt....but I wear my seatbelt all the time"....Umm No sir clearly you are Not wearing it all the time otherwise you wouldn't be hearing the annoying sound all the time, lol, what?
I like to pick up food in the drive-thru to eat in the parking lot and I undo my seatbelt in case I spill anything onto my chest. Maybe stop being an angry little piss-baby and shut up.
Well.....never wore a seat belt with the monte carlo, triumph spitfire , thunderbird, and so on, I bought this car and LOVE IT, and I bought the fake seatbelt inserts on amazon for that noise!! sound system sucks, need a old alphine!!!! and I noticed a rumble from the speakers when I bought it I couldn't figure it out untill I started watching videos on this car and I figured what the hell, why would they do something that stupid I've never seen the Japanese do something so idiotic...FAKE NOISE??.got mine with the cvt transmission, Im old and it turns heads more than the high end cars here in northern va.!!
@arcelivez it doesn’t make your car silent. We would just rather have the actual raw, real engine sound. Not some electric speaker bs that Toyota put in to make it sound “better”, which doesn’t, just to draw in more buyers
@@JakeTheDog3184 well I guess it's hard not having heard that in real life, but it sounds awesome to me in videos with the active sound, while I've noticed that in videos after turning it off it sounded way worse and it was significantly more silent too of course. Keep in mind it's there for people to enjoy the sound of the engine as part of tje experience, it's not meant to be a silent or smooth ride with the car. Also the manufacturers have always been designing the engine-exhaust sound regardless of whether with active sound or not and always tried and try to make it sound better - more aggressive because that's what the people are looking for in sportier cars. Just that now the governments seem to put regulations on the allowed exhaust sound loudness, so manufacturers have to work around that with active sound. So so far I don't see a problem with active sound, though I'd probably go as far as to wish there were options to select via the settings for different engine sounds and supporting different - lower sounding ones, but they emphasized the natural sound, they "exaggerate" this cars natural sound output, by making it louder and probably increasing the levels of a few frequencies, they don't create a new sound.
I dont understand why the fuck would you dont want to have seatbelt on, it is easier to put seatbelt on than speculating how to turn that shit off. it can save your live even when you going just ´´around the block´´
Probably the two best simple mods you can perform on the new GR86 and BRZ.
You sir, are a man of taste. Like the color too.
Thanks!
Seat belts are important tho but it does make me mad when on passenger doesn’t wear their seat belt
The dealer can disable the fake engine noise vis the software. I had my dealer do it before I even picked up the car.

sounds like ass. Way over the top. Droney when on the throttle hard.
