In the old days we use to run automatic transmission fluid and we had 2 150 gallon tanks we put 1 quart in each tank and that was 2 stroke Detroit like the 318 V8 and straight 6 238 and it sure did seam like it worked very good and that’s because it had a detergent and rust inhibitor and friction modifiers so we ran it when ever we filled up .
I’ve been hauling cars for GM since I was 23 yrs old and Iam 69 now and retired and I have never had fuel gel up but back in the day we never shut our trucks of because the 8 gallons of fuel you burn over nite was way cheaper than a service call because your fuel gelled up and won’t start so we just closed our shutters to let the motor stay warm and our newer trucks had a Kubota 3 cylinder diesel that ran our hydraulics and a gen set to light up the truck like day time so the cooling system was tied in to the radiator to keep the engine warm and heat in the cab and that was a great set up for the drivers and the tractor motor would start at 10 below like it was 65 degree out side and it only burned 4 gallons of fuel over nite and with the return line for fuel would keep your fuel tanks warm and filters but you needed to start your Kubota while the tractor motor was still good and hot .
I want to know what is the best type if diesel for a truck? Diesel #2, B20, OR OFF ROAD DIESEL?
This is the direct problem from not have a detergent package and this why CP4 can’t live with out it so if you have a truck with a CP 4 and you have 90-100k get the CP3 up grade or the filter kit to keep all that metal from going threw your fuel and oil system .

VP Torq DX 2.5 gallon at each fill up, and 8oz of their all in one treatment does an engine very good! Wish we could get the VP at local pumps and it would probably end up cheap enough to run 100%, then turn up the boost more with a happy engine.
Is ths CFPP higher or lower based on micron filter level? Eg. HPCR 3 micron 4th gen vs 10-15 micron filter for a 1st/2nd gen.
Hot shot secret does it right! Only additive I will ever run in my truck!
Question. If the water is separated out and falls to the bottom of the tank, how is the water removed? I thought water removal was the function of the fuel filter. What is the interaction?
Make sure your water separator is drained every day. There will likely be free water there almost always if the tank on your equipment is the primary tank after treatment? Was the additive added further upstream and had a chance to settle out into a bulk tank? Much easier to deal with that way. Just remove all water residue from fuel storage tanks as found. This additive WILL find a LOT of water, if it is there. otherwise it just adds a healthy dose of lubricants to your fuel.
What do you think about R95 and R99?
I tow a 5th wheel with my pick up and have a fuel discount card so I get most of my fuel from the commercial pumps so I not only get a better price on fuel but fuel that is fresh

so basically the fuel manufacturers are I. cahoots with the diesel manufacturers and changing the available fuel from the pump to kill the older diesel. to be able to sell the newer Gen diesel.
Sure of the heart shots every day use does not contain any anti-gel or do you need to add a hotshot anti-gel on top of every day use?
I think it would be nice it they work closer to the manufactures to push for higher standards for diesel fuel. I use what I think is best in my area diesel fuel and use their products on top of that. I keep hearing horror stories. I would think the EPA and people that are worried about environment would like people not having repair or replace vehicles as often and get a bit better fuel economy.
I swear by this stuff. I got bad fuel in my freightliner put in the cetane booster and problem fixed in 10 minutes!!!!!

Whoa, a lot of your diesels that aren't trucks don't have water separators but use the filter to collect water. How the hell am I supposed to get the water out of the bottom of the tank?

Why do you say that?
Trans mission fluid works the best and is cheap and 1 qt at each fill up and does it all cleans injectors but you can not clean valves and injector tips and if you do it from new it prevents carbon from building up but will not clean valves and rings it will prevent it but not remove carbon that’s been put on there for 10 yrs.

I spilled a bottle of the ETD all over my bed. Pissed me off so much I switched to Schaefers lol. Ya, think with all that science and r&d they could make a decent bottle to put the stuff in haha
We need a detergent for our diesel fuel .In Europe they have great detergent package in their diesel fuel right from the pump and the US does not have this in our fuels, so come on US get a detergent package in our fuel with out having to add it from some over priced additive from some over priced package like from fuel secret that is cost prohibitive.
Hot shot secret is nothing but snake oil diesels have been running perfectly fine with out 20-80 bottles gelling is a $5 bottle at Walmart
And many many of them have had thousands of dollars of issues related to fuel lubrication or rather the lack their off.
agree ive looked up their so called science that they have ect on their website like they claim to have, but of course its a bunch of run around and testimonials. which are total bs anyone can testify to anything.

@@mustangdemon87 Simple it has detergents of some sort in it. Your engines are dirty. It cleans the engine. Take a brand new motor and mix it in guarantee there will be no difference otherwise all the industry would be doing this and all diesel fuel would contain it along with the other additives. Just like i said its all testimonials and no proof just like what your saying. Why dont you prove to me that your trucks got better mpg? how do i know you werent driving different? Maybe less pedal, more highway... Just saying SHOW ME THE PROOF, done in a 3rd party lab and post results. I personally searched their website and the internet for these results. If you find them lemme know.. What happens when all those detergents eventually mix in your oil?
@@Listentomoreunderground clearly you have no understanding how thermal dynamics or how combustion works. Detergents burn dirty and incomplete so they have a negative effect on btu rating. I have plenty of proof in both lab tests showing wear scar rating as well as a few others. All prove additives do reduce wear and improve mileage thru a complete burn they just don't do it to what everyone claims. Improvements are there just depends on the level you want it to last. Not everyone wants a million miles on their trucks. I do. Every one I have was bought we less then 50k and all have over 500k one over 740k miles. No injector or nozzle replacements needed only slight pop pressure adjustment from natural spring wear.
