I would say main difference was in magnitude of each Dark Lord goals. Morgoth wanted to shape whole reality according to his own vision or destroy it if he couldn't. Sauron had far less ambitious goal to simply rule the world as it is and only remove those who oppose him
Morgoth's feats were far greater than Sauron's, both in scope, scale, and power. In a battle between the two, at the height of their respective powers, with all of their strengths brought to bear, Morgoth would crush Sauron utterly. I say this as a fan of Sauron, the first Dark Lord of Middle Earth that I was introduced to. Sauron is powerful, yes, but Morgoth is on a completely different level of raw might and ability.
I want to say again I’m really loving your channel you guys do a fantastic job and keep getting better and I’m extremely versed in Tolkien’s Legendariam so I’m not just saying this! Great job and fantastic artwork as well thanks guys!!! ❤ I forgot to mention that I keep learning little awesome bits of information I never knew so again FANTASTIC JOB!!🎉
Also, I have NEVER understood te point of Sauron even MAKING the ring: since he 'poured the majority of his power' into the ring, his INNATE power was diminished proportionally. Getting the ring back, should make him exactly as powerful as he was BEFORE he made the ring. There's no change for him. He's right where he began at, he's just taking back power he had already poss eesed BEFORE the ring. In fact, the ring puts him MORE at risk, for, if he should LOSE it (like he DID), the being who receives it, therefore has the majority of HIS former power. Now he has a rival who'se power exceeds his diminished state, and that being will soon be coming for him and his. So, the ring makes no sense to me. And SHOULD to SAURON.
How can there even BE a question? Melkor\Morgoth was the most powerful of ALL the VALAR, second only to Eru Illuvatar Himself. Sauron was a Maiar, SERVANTS to the Valar. The levels of power are on way different scales. A weakened, diminished Melkor, would still slap around Sauron like a b*tch. Who was the servant here, and who was the master?
They can't be compared. Sauron is way less powerful, less smart, less everything. Sauron had to fight vs nobody. Melkor vs everyone, including the Valar. Sauron copied the idea of the ring, from Morgoth's ring. Sauron found all the corrupted creatures there, not doing any sweat. To destroy Sauron just a hobbit was necessary. To destroy Melkor, only Eru could be the one.. destroy Arda itself.
Yeah good point! Both the highest form of evil and malice just in the own style lol like clothing souron wearing skinny jeans and morgoth wearing jncos but he wore assless chaps when he went by melcor😂
there is a huge difference. Morgoth wanted to destroy all that was not of his making. since he didn't possess The Flame Imperishable, creation was beyond his ability. so he wanted to destroy all of creation. Sauron wanted to bend all of creation to his will. so, even if you somehow measure their evil as "equal" they are clearly not the same. the distinction is clear.
@@Jeremyhughes86its clear but somehow you are affraid to state it. Morgoth is waybmore evil then sauron can ever dream to be.....dont be scared and jhst say it.
@@SWOTHDRA I can say Sauron's evil was more personal to the peoples, but Melkor's was more far reaching. as it encompassed all creation, maybe he was more evil, but who is really to say ? now you're just merely trying to assert an opinion as if it's a fact... it's your opinion. shh shhh shh

I would be thrilled if there were a live-action adaptation in the style of Peter Jackson for the First Age.
Who wouldn't?
@@N3xus319 One question remains: Will it ever happen? There are copywrite issues, right?
Needs to be high quality animation imo. So much of the lore is messed up because of the budget constraints
Unfortunately, can't happen...the 1st age and a lot from 2nd age,no one has the right to it, nor does money play a role, it is protected.

I really hope one day they do live action stories of Melkor/Morgoth story as yes Sauron was evil but just a chess piece under Morgoth
Morgoth: Chaotic Evil greater god
Sauron: Lawful Evil lesser god
Sauron is far from a god
@@SWOTHDRA no, not far
@@archmage_of_the_aether Yes yes far, he is gandalf level, is gandalf a god?
@@SWOTHDRA Tolkien considered him a demi-urge.

My man, that's a huge compliment. All the more reason to keep up the good work!
That's your art? Bravo, man. Did you use AI? Also your channel is fantastic. So well produced.
Yes, I create the art through AI. It's one of my big hobbies! So, thank you!

Hell I’d take a dark fantasy style animation similar to berserk (non cgi) just to see first age content.
Idk, Sauron might take it
He was punching above his weight before he got clapped
cap. Morgoth absolutely crushes Sauron with his mere presence

They're both equally evil.
Adjectives
I see no distinction. They're both evil in their own way.

One was chaotic evil and the other one lawful evil if you use DnD alignments.
