Thanks for your video and comments. I've been thinking about this lens vs Sony 200-600 and I like the compactness of the Tamron along with its many features along with price. This lens will be coupled with a Sony 6600 giving me quite a bit of reach for my upcoming trip to several National Parks. I'm 80 years old and this limits the places where I can take it due to its weight.
For small birds you want to be at around a minimum of 1/1000th depending on light, if it's dull or overcast you'll more likley need to be 1/1600th or 1/2000th. But there's a balanicng act, because you'll lose light due to having to compensate the apature. I have this lens and have had the Sony 200-600, 100-400 GM and the Sigma 150-500 and they're all much the same, nice to use when it's sunny. 😉
And again a really good Video, thanks for that 🎉 Are you still happy with the tamron or are you planning to switch to an other telephoto lens? And you did these photos with a tripod or handheld? 1.7kg is a lot of weight 😔 Many thanks
Hello. Thanks a lot. The photos were taken with a tripod mostly because of the weight. It is a heavy lens. I'm still happy with tamron. The AF is really impressive and optically it's good enough. Would be nice to have a an f4 all the way but given the price it would be too much to ask. I do recommend this lens. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
@@M1R0_Life_through_a_lens Thank you for replying, so pleased that you’ve got a bird book, it will transform your hobby. I really envy the variety of birds that you’ve got around you, enjoy them.👍

Ok, your birds in order of appearance, Nuthatch, Tree sparrow, Siskin (your canary!) and most probably a Marsh tit.
Hello. Thanks a lot! I actually bought a book of the local bird life and it's making the whole photography so much more interesting. Cheers!
