No, forgiveness means that you turn over what happened to Him for Him to judge and He said "vengeance is Mine, saith the Lord," so we allow God to deal with those who have violated us. If it is criminal, then we need to turn it over to the authorities as well, that is our duty to stop the perp from continuing to perpetrate their evil. No, forgiveness means that you turn over what happened to Him for Him to judge and He said "vengeance is Mine, saith the Lord," so we allow God to deal with those who have violated us. If it is criminal, then we need to turn it over to the authorities as well, that is our duty to stop the perp from continuing to perpetrate their evil. It does not mean that we overlook the crime, but we know that God has seen it all, and He will judge when we give it to Him to avenge us. But not turning it over to the authorities is dangerous and unhealthy and leads to more abuse and retaliation from the perp.

On top of that, wisdom is necessary in this situation. Jonathan is still in the grieving process. Lastly, we all have been under attack in the faith for the past few years. Did Suzy report the assault to the police? It was her job to go to the police and the hospital to get checked out so they could press charges. Suzy is bitter over what happened and didn't do what was required to charge the guilty person. She could still bring him to court for what he did. I do not feel that the attitude they took about the silence is appropriate and it is unfair to the victim of the abuse. Their silence only condones the abuse and leads to more victims. If they were not going to expose the affair that Marcus had on Joni, until they were threatened with exposure or to pay a ransom for the information, and their silence, so they went public instead. He stepped down from the pulpit for a year and went to a sex counselor, probably the one she remarried after Marcus died of mysterious causes. Anyway, the counselor divorced his wife of thirty years and remarried Joni so fast your head would swim. No one in the church world agreed with the decision for her to remarry a divorced man while his wife is still alive, so they have had that to cont3end with and no one talks about it. the only one that had anything to say was another man that was a friend of the counselor who was probably paid to encourage her to do what was not right in the sight of God. So sad because Daystar has been a real boon to the Chrisitan community. But satan never stops trying to corrupt and wherever there is an opening, he will take it to get in and destroy. So sad that their relationship with their parents went south, but if that is their attitude, that's their choice and they have had to deal with it and it's not easy to take.
