I would recommend getting a good landing net makes dealing with nice fish a lot easier and better for the fish.

If you don’t mind me asking where is deep enough to launch a near Red Deer?
You can launch a jet boat in lower Fairview at the BMX track. I wouldn't recommend launching anything with a propeller. River is way too shallow.
