Movie Summary:
While shooting a war film, the director attempts to liven up proceedings by dropping the principle actors into the middle of a real jungle, claiming he is going to capture their performance with hidden cameras. The hapless group including drug-addled comedy star Jeff Portnoy and po-faced method man Kirk Lazarus are completely unaware when a series of unfortunate events leads them into the middle of a real war zone.

Stole the show for me!!! Sad thing is I remember talk of a sequel starring Cruise as Grossman & afterwards he even showed up in full costume at an awards show,...then absolutely nothing happened!😔 So don't know wtf happened?

If I can be honest, this movie m-mm-ma-ma-made me laugh
RDJ killed it in this movie and he litterally didn't break character in the DVD commentary
That guy at 30:00 was not doing something from Godfather, he was just listing off other movies that Al Pacino has starred in...he noted The Devil's Advocate (1997) and Dog Day Afternoon (1975), and then Danny McBride's character lists off Cruising (1980) and Sea of Love (1989) in the short clip you folks included.

The only thing better than the scene where Stiller fully Star Fish chucks that kid off the bridge, is that scene with someone yelling "Yeeeeet!" LOL ty
I was looking for RDJ the first time watching this, watched it over and said " shit is RDJ the black guy?" I thought his character was some rookie actor when I first saw it, so since RDJ fooled me, it became my favorite role of his.

I didn't watch this for ages because it was something I wouldn't like. My husband finally convinced me to watch it and I regretted all those years of not watching! XD One of the things I really love is Tom Cruise as Grossman. Watching him dance is one of the highlights for me!

I was smacked the first time I watched this... Sitting in the movies questioning my life decision. I smoked so much weed after the first scene it hit me. After that i was sold. Greatest parody ever
They actually DID make Booty Sweat energy drinks for a while after this movie came out. A buddy of mine at work gave me a can, I kept it at my desk (unopened) for like 5 years, until someone knocked it off the shelf and the tab cracked, so I finally tossed it. Since I never drank it (and never got another can), I have no idea what it tasted like, but it did smell like your standard energy drink like a red bull. Not sure if they ever made Bust-A-Nut bars, though.

i first watched this really young. my only exposure to RDJ at the time was the first Iron Man, but he quickly became one of my favorite actors. I really had no idea it was RDJ doing blackface until towards the end when he removed his makeup and wig. I wasn't really good with English yet and my (mis)understanding of Kirk Lazarus' hollywood news report was that he was difficult to work with and his behaviour was so erratic that producers decided to replace him with a black actor who had just recovered from surgery. and Alpa Chino's beef with him was that he was given the bigger role despite being casted later. i only truly understood the story on a later rewatch when my english has greatly improved.

Another cool little tidbit is Lance, whom Alpa is hugging during the award show at the end of the movie, is actually Lance Bass from the boy band N'Sync

I watched this seriously when it came out… like had the dvd right after theaters 👀 I didn’t realize it was RDJ or Tom Cruise until the credits 🤦♂️ no idea! 😂 re watched it tonight and still love it!!!

I had never even heard of Robert Downey Jr before when this movie came out. So I didnt even really know what he looked like irl.

I think people were more mad about the simple jack character I don't think that Ben Stiller realized that autism is NOT as cut and dry as people think. Autism is actually a spectrum and people on the higher end of the spectrum are actually extremely smart and learn abnormally quickly. Whereas people on the lower end of the spectrum are the ones that are mentally challenged. Unfortunately the ones on the lower end of the spectrum are the ones that get the most attention. Because they're the ones that the common stereotype is actually based on.
You can watch this movie a dozen times and still find stuff you missed before - often because you were too busy laughing. Then you find yourself quoting lines from the movie over and over while people stare at you like you're Simple Jack.

Girl thinking Jack Black must’ve been paid a ton for saying those gravy pipe lines and not for drinking from a dirty pond, wearing only underwear for a good portion of the movie, hanging from a helicopter… smh.
I’d imagine a Bust-a-Nut bar would be chalk full of peanut bits, covered in chocolate, and with dense fondant or nuggat but like the full of sugar and caffeine, cause the endorsing celebrity doesn’t really care about nutrition.
Love watching the young Jay Pharoah review these movies!

Salty. Just saying, when i was in rehab my roomy was a black dude in his 60's and he talked just like RDjr. Most of the time i couldn't understood what he was saying. Plus, every fifth word or so he would give a short laugh. I don't know if it was a speech impediment, or he just thought everything he said was amusing.

I was in my mid teens when this came out so naive. I had no idea it was RDJ until he took his wig & contacts out later in the film. I was left feeling like it should of been offensive but he was so convincing I thought it was just amazing. Ashamed to say I didn't realise Tom Cruise until the credits either
