    Lyrics:
I worry, I weigh three times my body
I worry, I throw my fear around
    But this morning, there's a calm I can't explain
The rock candy's melted, only diamonds now remain
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
By the time I recognize this moment
    This moment will be gone
But I will bend the light, pretend that it somehow lingered on
    Well all I got's
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
And I will wait to find
    If this will last forever
And I will wait to find
    If this will last forever
And I will pay no mind
When it won't and it won't because it can't
    It just can't
    It's not supposed to
Was there a second of time that I looked around?
Did I sail through or drop my anchor down
Was anything enough to kiss the ground?
And say I'm here now and she's here now
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
So much wasted in the afternoon
So much sacred in the month of June
    How bout you
And I will wait to find
    If this will last forever
And I will wait to find
That it won't and it won't
    Because it won't
And I will waste no time
    Worried 'bout no rainy weather
And I will waste no time
    Remaining in our lives together

the first time I heard this I thought this song feels like a beautiful summer morning. later on I read a quote from John about this song and he said it's supposed to capture the feelings of waking up on a beautiful summer day and feeling at peace and untouched by the negatives in the world around you. Love this man and his art.

This song along with his "something's missing" song are great examples of the natural feeling of searching, or yearning for something. This feeling is God's way of pulling you in. That peace that we are all searching for can be found in Jesus and none other. You can try Yogi or a spouse or being a workaholic but the feeling will remain until you find and accept Jesus into your heart.

    • @erroldtumaque6352
      @erroldtumaque6352 10 років тому +64

good artists compose from virtual instruments too
just because some music is made virtually doesn't mean it doesn't require any sort of musical talent

***** but .. it is, i play guitar, violin, keyboard and have recently gotten into digital music composition through programs like ableton
i can personally say that there's a lot involved in virtual instrumentation especially when creating your own sound through synths, having to deal with attack, release, tone etc etc not only that, there's multiple layers to music when it comes to adding effects
i'm not a professional by any level but i can recognize the fact that music is music regardless of means of production
downplaying it purely because its not "real" instruments is simply ignorance

    • @cornlourd
      @cornlourd 10 років тому +10

The seven or so year old black girl at the beginning of this video makes me smile.....if you remember back to using one of these devises the knobs were usually hard to turn at that age and remembering to FOCUS was an after thought for me at least. To not only capture both in the first few seconds and then go on to capture her simple inquisitiveness was the perfect prelude to the song. Sony you nailed that one.

Wow! I'll mark this day as one very special (thanks Spotify). I looked for this song my whole life, it was one personal enigma. The main sounds of it (the oohs-oohs) and the dock, the man at the back of an unroofed car got imprinted in my memory since I was a kid. Maybe 12 years later and I finally know the author; I'm surprised how my memories match so well with it.
Point in here is realizing how powerful music can be as to reconnect those feelings with past remembrances, very nostalgic. Lovely song!

Man... this song is so interesting. John desperately wants to hold on to the calm, tranquilizing feeling of clarity, but he realizes that he can’t because without fear and worry, he would not need clarity. By the time he recognizes the moment, that moment will already be gone. Thus, the cycle continues. What he’s describing is essentially the ☯️ of life.

  • @deltablues1957
    @deltablues1957 7 років тому +159

I worry, I weigh three times my body
I worry, I throw my fear around
    But this morning, there's a calm I can't explain
The rock candy's melted, only diamonds now remain
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
By the time I recognize this moment
    This moment will be gone
But I will bend the light, pretend that it somehow lingered on
    Well all I got is....
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
And I will wait to find
    If this will last forever
And I will wait to find
    If this will last forever
And I will pay no mind
When it won't and it won't because it can't
    It just can't
    It's not supposed to
Was there a second of time that I looked around?
Did I sail through or drop my anchor down
Was anything enough to kiss the ground?
And say I'm here now and she's here now
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
So much wasted in the afternoon
So much sacred in the month of June
    How bout you
And I will wait to find
    If this will last forever
And I will wait to find
That it won't and it won't
    Because it won't
And I will waste no time
    Worried 'bout no rainy weather
And I will waste no time
    Remaining in our lives together
