Fr man, I was 14 when this song came out. Back then, me and two of my childhood buddies would play Minecraft day in and day out with this song playing in the background, recording videos for our UA-cam channel (which obviously wasn’t that successful). It’s long ago tho and I lost the password to that UA-cam channel, but those memories still hit me whenever I see or hear something that reminds me of those better days. Or maybe that’s just because I was a kid back then and life was easy for me.

That’s a fact one guy broke this down to me in another UA-cam comment (wich is crazy) he stated "The reason this music rocked was it had a little but of everything;
-The synths from 90’s EuroHouse
-Rap (commercialized, but still rap)
-Soul in the RnB singer’s voices
-The right BPM speed for dance music
On top of all, it was free from politics and social issues, even sad songs were more relatable rather than hinting heavily on socio-political issues, a classic example was A-Team by Ed Sheeran.
The reason, this era (late 2000’s and early 2010’s) worked so well because there was true collaborations between diverse artists, not only based on genre but on race, religion etc. They all came together and made music about one thing, having a good time at a party.
I really respect Flo Rida, Pitbull, LMFAO, Katy Perry, Akon, David Guetta, Neyo, Taio Cruz, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Enrique, JLo , Rhianna, Derulo and many more in the pop field

I remember back when I was 12 and this song played over and over on the radio. I never thought much of it but now that I'm 17 and have heard this so many times, I've realized how amazing this song and 2013 were as a whole.
Well good try but Clarity came out November 12 2012, So unless your talking about repeats, 2012 is the king of music from the 21st century so far. It holds so many gems including this.

It's so comforting knowing that this song is nostalgic to people other than myself. It always warms my heart because this came out when I first ventured out on my own to San Francisco at age 19. So many adventures. So much learned.
