The reason why I call this is as the #3 most bogus penalty in NASCAR history is because it hurt Truex, who was innocent, but Clint Bowyer was still a wasted chase spot. The only two that beat this was Mark Martin's 1990 penalty after Richmond, and Lee Petty's 1950 penalty. Mark's penalty was because of an "unapproved" carburator, and Lee's is even worse, 'cause he lost all of his earned points just because he participated in non-NASCAR races.
Bowyer should have been kicked out of The Chase also. There was Bowyer and Vickers cheating to get Martin Truex jr in the chase. Michael Waltrip Racing should have had all cars suspended in the next race. Just a joke Bowyer is getting his Karma now.
First of all his "karma" was having to go through one bad year for a good ride the next. And also he doesn't deserve karma cause he was just following team ordrs

I'm sure MWR had this discussion before the race about doing what they can to get as many cars in the chase as possible. They just did a crappy job at it and got caught. They deserved what they got. It was a little surprising to see Mikey cheating but like I said, they all do what they can to get ahead of each other. Not surprising...
I hope Vickers & Truex jump ship. Even Front Row Motorsports or TBR would be a credibility saving step. As for Bowyer? His goose is cooked. He cheated. He didn't question like Vickers did. Disgusting. Others have been accused of this before (rumored team orders in Hendrick to help Johnson & Gordon to win races and at Roush for years going back to when Burton & Martin were there and RCR was accused of it when Menard spun and was a rumored order to help Harvick). Only time proven, though.

I think NASCAR should have waited until the points were reset before penalizing Bowyer.
