Run Faster With This 10 Minute Leg Workout!

- Got 10 minutes for a killer leg workout? How about a leg workout that will help you RUN FASTER? This one works every inch of your legs, giving those fast-twitch muscle fibers the boost they need for faster, more efficient running. PS: This is best paired with a short run.
Workout details:
45 seconds on/ 15 seconds off of:
Right side leg swing
Left side leg swing
High knees
Tempo air squat (3 seconds down, 1 second up)
Switch/switch/drop lunge (alternating)
Left side lateral hops
Right side lateral hops
Closed-leg glute bridge raise
Jump squats for max-height
Straight-arm plank hold

I've incorporated jump roping into my routine along with the same workouts you do in this video and it has really helped my running alot
How long did it take for you to see results in your running?
As a xc runner trying to get back into running after recovering from a broken leg. This is great

Thank you Coach Holly!!! I'm transitioning from walking every day, to jogging two or three times a week, but have to take it slow as my legs aren't used to the pounding yet. With this strength-building routine on the days I walk that'll help my legs get stronger so I can run without getting as sore!!! You're the greatest!

I've been using a variation of a core routine that you put out. It's helped me stabilize myself quite a bit. I definitely feel like it's easier to 'run tall' now that I've been doing more core exercises. Going to try and work this one into my weekly routine as well. Keep up the great work!

I am fairly new to running regularly but also new to working out consistently overall and I think this is the first time I did such good and strong a plank hold for 45 seconds and only because you pushed me through it with your talking! Update: just did it today after my run. If you want a good work out def do this. Couldn’t go through all the exercises, had to take a break in a few of them, however this is a great work out. Legs feel stronger, put a good swear, and going to challenge myself to complete this without any breaks. Love it!

Did, our tried to do this workout. I'm 50. 8 weeks post partial medial meniscotomy. Overweight with a law enforcement pt test in 6 weeks. Yes I'm freaked out almost as out of shape I am. I'll keep doing it but wow. First one was an eye opener. Who knew hopping was so hard

I love this workout, thanks so much. But one lingering bit of confusion is when to do it. You suggest after a run, but then there's the camp that says no, plyometrics should be done before a run. I know the key is to just try stuff and see what works best, but it would be nice to see a video that unpacks this topic a little further. Thanks again!
Hi There! Thank you for doing the workout! The answer lies in what your goals are. If your major goal for the day is to get a quality run in, then do the strength after the run. If Your goal is to get strong and then tag some cardio via running in for the day then you can do this strength workout before you head out for a run. It really is all about what your goal is.

Haven't been able to run for two weeks due to tendon injury, but am back to a tester run tomorrow. Could you do something on preventing injury to strengthen up the muscles/tendons around the tibia and ankle to prevent injury please and thank you
