    It took a little bit to decide on getting this knife mainly because of the lightweight feel of it. I’ve carried it everyday and I must say it’s the most practical, slicy of my otf’s. It’s holding up perfectly and that blade is fantastic!

      It really is a great OTF. I carry mulitools most of the time these days, but when I can't carry a gun and so I reach for a blade to take it's place, that's the one I usually reach for...

    I love my Shootout and that model you have (the one I have too) is made out Carbon fiber elite. The new ones are Grivory and they went up 23 Ducks. Lol. The blade is amazing!!!

    I love my shootout and my wife, who never liked blades before- started stealing the shootout to take to work because she liked it so much.

      For the size, quality and sliciness, it is hard to beat. You barely feel it in your pocket...

    I don't have any of my guardian tactical or microtech OTF'S left. I carry my Benchmade autocrat in tan quiet a bit. It was an impulse buy at my local gun store. 440$ is way 2 high I think. It is nice . G10 handles and the blade is crazy thin. On top of that the secondary bevel isa chisel grind. It's like a Lazer . A higher price to a certain extent is totally warranted. It's not the usual aluminum cookie cutter otf. I am interested in your thoughts. 🤙🏽

    It’s a great knife, just don’t dare get it in any light colors. It gets dirty really easily. Unless you feel like cleaning it everyday which I’m not sure is good for the knife.

    035 Recon is a better deal. I'm sad I lost one.

      It is a great option, for sure. But I like the ergos on the Benchmade a little better, it grips better, and it is. much lighter...

      @SquireSCA My favorite benchmade was an old Stryker with ATS34 and it was amazing. Benchmade has felt cheaper and cheaper over the years and the prices have just gone up. This knife feels very low cost to me and not up to the price. Those GTs feel premium. I still have my Recon Elite and love that knife.

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  Рік тому +1

      @@greebuh Yeah, I won't disagree there. The GT feels super premium... But the Benchmade to me... being that thin and light and grippy... I like it a lit...

      @SquireSCA I don't think the Shootout is a bad knife but I certainly don't think is going to be able to take a beating like an Ultratech, which is comparable in price. I was looking at buying it, but in the same case at the store with Ultrtechs and a GT in my pocket, I just couldn't pull the trigger. Or flip the switch, as it was....

    • @SquireSCA

      Probably true, but I tend to not beat on my knives. It makes a great amazon package opener...

    I purchased a Benchmade Shootout after watching some YT reviews. It is my first OTF knife. I rec'd it Monday, unboxed and started to "play" with it... it would only retract about 50% of the time. If the knife was pointed up, it worked in and out about 90% of the time. If the knife was point down, it would shoot out but rarely retract. I was astounding at the poor performance. I found the thumb release/retract very stiff and left my thumb sore. I'm hoping it was just a lemon that wasn't well inspected... nonetheless I shipped it back today.
    My EDC is a Benchmade Griptilian which I absolutely love; so much so, I bought a second to have on hand when I send the original in to be sharpened.
    I want a OTF however after this experience, I will no longer purchase online. I'll have to be hands on before I buy.

      Well that sucks. I will say that I have handled a few of them and all of them offered light action and fast firing. I have yet to have. misfire, but everyone puts out a lemon here and there I guess. I am sure the replacement will be fine.

    Thank you, this anti china racism in the US media is just strange. For a country with Americas history it very sad Americans continue to speak of China or Russians in such hateful ways, what’s really disappointing is how many are willing to jump on this thinking, America as a country just started letting blacks vote not too long ago.

      Agreed. Head over to this video and explain that to the racist clown who just posted on it. haha

    No Chinese crap

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  6 місяців тому

      I take it you posted that from your Chinese phone or computer? Being made in China, doesn't mean what it means in the 1980's... Half the stuff in your house is made in China, might as well get used to it.
      People used to feel the same way about "Jap Crap"... Now they are our friends, they make amazing electronics, watches, cars, bikes, appliances...
      It's a global economy.

    • @scottkasper6378
      @scottkasper6378 6 місяців тому

      @@SquireSCA made in China designed elsewhere is not the same thing. Chinese crap is all the stuff they blatantly steal and just reproduce and dump on every market under putting the price usually of inferior quality. The knife you have is probably someone else’s intellectual property they just steal

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  6 місяців тому

      Maybe, maybe not. There are plenty of original Chinese designs and quality manufacturers these days... Vosteed, Artisan, CJRB, Civivi, WE, and others... Reate is an amazing maker of knives...
      Nobody likes China as a government... But if you take the politics out of it, and just look at the products themselves, a lot of they are quality and solid.
      I just refuse to go down the racist road that Greg Medford and others do... I am not gonna hate the knife, just because of the clowns currently in power. Would it be fair for everyone to start hating Ford and Chevy and Benchmade, because President Brandon and company are running our country?

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  6 місяців тому

      I would agree on not liking Chinese "crap". But country of origin doesn't mean the quality is good or bad. China makes some fantastic stuff, and we have some crap made here in the US. I judge the item based on its own merits, not the politics, not the country of origin, etc...
