- I have a chat to my good mate Brendan about his Husqvarna 701 Rally build to find out if this is the best ADV bike on the market. He has fitted an Omega kit and the
Sounded like a couple of blokes having a very informative chat about a highly modified 701 to me, well done, thanks.
Yeah Brendan has been riding bikes all his life so has a lot of first hand experience
Thanks for watching
Regards Steve
Love the look of these Husqvarna bikes there so nice
Great to understand Brendan’s ideas on his setup and fuel/ water haul ideas…
A friend and I done a whiskey shot every time you said yep , the doc says we should be fully recovered in about 6 months or so😂😂 In all seriousness, very informative video. I’ll be selling the 790R and buying a 690/ 701 soon. Thanks for the vid!!
Lmfao.... Yeah didn't realise I was saying yep so much. First time doing a two way chat like that. Glad you could see the funny side of it
Thanks for watching
Regards Steve
mannnn you ruined this entire video for me :P
Well sorted 701, yup yup!!!! Thanks for the video.
Yeah thanks.Sorry about the Yup Yup..... First time I did a talk like that didn't even realise I was doing it... Lol
Great bike set up. Interesting to hear REALISTIC comments about the off-road accessibility (or otherwise!) of the likes of the T7, 890/901 and Tuareg options.
Sorry I seemed to have missed this comment or never got back to it.
Yeah and the Desert X as well. I still call these mid size bikes touring bikes and not necessarily adventure bikes. I have no direct experience but I will note this. When using these bikes for off-road adventure the lower the centre of gravity is the better. That's where KTM/Husqvarna have got it right. I get concerned when I see large fuel tanks up so high. Of note the T7 WR has a lower tank now. (I've owned two Tenere's both with 23lts up high)
I will be in the market for a touring "twin" not too far away and all the bikes you have mentioned I will give due consideration. Even Brendan from the vid is talking the same.
Watch this space.... Lol
Thanks for watching
Regards Steve
Agree on the 200 + kg bikes being “touring”. Too heavy and a liability in hard terrain but some blokes can handle them for sure. Not for me though.
Yup…yup
yup
Yup, yup, yup….
Yeah annoying isn't it. First time doing a two way talk like this. Didn't even realise I was saying yup so often. As lot of room for improvement there lol
Yep
Yeah I know say yep about 2000 times. Never even realised I was doing it. First time I'd done vid like this so lesson learned LMFAO
Best bike that can still haul a passenger. This is the motorcycle class we need to see some competition in. The big dual sport class.
If they could just knock 50lbs/25kg off the tenere then it would be very competitive

Super video.. Great guys
My only observation is; that I’m surprised he actually needed the pannier racks.
Both Mosko and Kriega make great rackless pannier systems. Why add unnecessary weight ?
Agreed he is starting to think about a Mosko I believe

How is the wind protection at highway speeds?
Yeah good question. I'm 6 foot, 183 cm and I find it good. I do sit back on the seat a fair way and the air flow hits the top of my helmet and doesn't grab the visor. Had the 18 model 690 with the Rade tower and it was equally as good. These are not touring bikes with huge screens and tanks to remove all the buffeting but a very good compromise. Can't stand the wind hitting me in the chest.
Just lads being mates. Yup.
Yeah a few too many yups and yeah's sorry
Good video Steve, got to love a good 701 build, I very nearly went that way with a 690, but for what I wanted to do my 450 i just built up is maybe 125 kgs dry .
Gday. Whats the fellas name on the 700rr Hard Kits bike? 😮
Brendan. Had that bike since new it's a great set up
Regards Steve
Thanks for the reply . Chris I think you called him on the Hard kit 701
@@mortaygo1LOL. Yeah another mate Chris has a 701 with the Australian Hard kits fairing etc that I rode
I had a T7 and saw the light. Sold it and bought a 701. I don't think I'll be going for the gearbox at nearly $4000.
myself + my t7 full tank is still lighter than this guy + his 701 modded rally.
Do any of you ADV guys you camp with use a CPAP device ? Any pro tips if you do?
Hi Chase if we have anything that doesn't work for use you stop using them. I'm finding for example the Enduristan stuff not working that well on my latest bike so going to a different system. Are U talking about electronics or camping gear or bike accessories anything particular?
Regards Steve
@@dirtbikeadv CPAP is a med device for sleep apnea. Makes camping in the wild a bit complicated
@@chasejiannalone8763 Hi Chase sorry read the original reply as Crap thinking it was a typo. I do know someone who has a mobile CPAP device I'll follow it up and get back to
Regards Steve
Watching that guy makes me realize I'm not that fat and unfit 😂😂😂😂
No comment..... Lol
Not so much any more mate, transformed
I know this is an old upload but you over talk the interviewee way too much. Just ask the questions and we shall receive. Other than that, the bikes you present are exactly what we want to here about
Yep I agree, first time I did an interview style review. I did yup yup too much. Thanks for your feedback and watching
Regards Steve
I think you did a great job making this video. I enjoyed the conversation you had, you asked the right questions, and we got the right answers. Very informative and I like the way you did the interview.
Can i scren shot
Sounds like the yup yup aliens from Sesame Street
Yeah the yes count from me was very high. Sorry first time I had done something like an interview. I'll cable tie my lips next time..... Lol
Thanks for watching
Regards Steve
Yep yep no good mate
Yeah agreed didn't realise I was doing it... First time I'd done a talk like that. Know better next time 👍
Constructive criticism alert. The yup yup yup yup yup made it so incredibly awkward to watch. Ill never know if this video was any good it was too annoying to continue watching. I had to switch off.
Yeah I know never done a interview style vid like that. Didn't realise I was doing it and couldn't edit it out.,... Lol don't blame U for tuning out.
Regards Steve
I really wan't to hear about the bike but the yip yip was just too much.
Sorry yeah first time I done an interview so to speak I'll cable tie my lips next time. 😔
If you have to make a bike into something else? You bought the wrong bike.
These things are an in between thing, not a dirtbike, not a roadbike. Not that I dont want one.
The wide ratio box is 4K US dollars + labor for splitting the engine. At resale time all this farkle money is gone, a non entity.
Yup
Yeah didn't even realise I was doing it. Very annoying
Yeah sorry about that never even realise
@@dirtbikeadv all good man, it’s a great video thanks for doing that walk through!
Yep
Yeah was a few too many yeps....... Lmfao
