*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. But, I'll be ok, and I'm getting both channels in the earbud, thanks for your concern :)

I'm not a Taylor stan but I do enjoy her music. The political stuff is new for her. Both her and Katy have great music videos so if that's what you like to react to I highly recommend.
danirbarro I’m not sure how much more Taylor I’ll do since it’s not finding much of an audience but they have been pretty entertaining, there will be more lady Gaga and Katy Perry this week, I’m also going to try Melanie Martinez a lot of people have suggested her
@@SuperJersh I'm pretty sure if you react to her songs from the Reputation era like "Look What You Made Me Do" or "...Ready For It?" or songs from her album 1989 "Blank Space". "Wildest Dreams", "Bad Blood" or "Out Of The Woods", it will attract more audience, as those are generally (only some of) her biggest songs.
You need to react to her Netflix documentary Miss Americana. You'll have a clearer understanding and hopefully appreciation for Taylor as a person and for her craft 😊
Really amazing
If you like Taylor's fun videos, then you'll enjoy her music video ME! ft. Brendon Urie (another great singer) :)
She is not all the time a political artist. Only this one and the man. It is kind new for her.
George, I’m curious... Are you familiar with either Ani DiFranco or Tori Amos?
react to Taylor's All Too Well, pleaseee
You should react to NF
“Political artist” ??? Wtf??! treating everybody equal is not a political stance. It’s basic human rights.
I don’t know if anyone has said this, but the reason the whole Katy Perry this is so special is because those two had been feuding for a really long time. So this scene was super sweet
So, the sign near the beginning that says, "Mom, I am a rich man" is actually a famous quote from Cher, who tells the story of when she was younger her mom kept saying she needed to settle down and marry a rich man, and Cher replied, "Mom, I AM a rich man!" Great inside trivia there
I never got that but knew it had to be something. TS doesn’t add anything to her videos without reason. Brilliant creative mind.
Her newly found voice in politics is definitely new, and she kinda goes into her decision to break her silence on politics in her new documentary on Netflix, Miss Americana. If you’re curious, you should give it a watch! Also, these are her most political songs. She, in my opinion, is the best current pop songwriter around these days, so if you like meaning lyrics and songs that have substance, you should give some of her other work a listen!
thanks for this info! based on what i've started with i wouldn't have guessed there was anything non political lol, may have to check out the documentary too :)
@@SuperJersh also this really isn't that political hahaha or the man. it's just about her personal experience and this is i guess about social issues but yeah, try out the rest of her catalogue! lots of good lyricism n music
It’s funny how lgbtq is political. Just saying.
@@angelita2213 Politics is pretty much anything that is talked about in policies, so yes by default
@@smileyfacesheens123 i mean, it IS by dint of the fact that queer rights are being actively litigated, and were being litigated at the time she released this song. But especially for Taylor, who spent years trying actively to not say anything that could be read as political, explicitly supporting the queer community against haters, and explicitly bringing up the double standards that exist under patriarchy, this 100% was political.
Fun fact: during the drag competition in the music video, Taylor is actually not in that shot. It's Jade Jolie, a popular drag queen Taylor Swift impersonator!
Yep. It's a whole line of drag queens as different pop stars!
I honestly could not tell that wasn't really her, that's incredible. Thanks for sharing!
She has never been political until recently. You should react to Miss Americana on Netflix, her documentary. “A nice girl never puts her opinions on people. She waves and says thank you and became what they wanted me to be” something like that is what she says. She basically was ready to break out of her shell and what society wanted her to be. Her past albums are about relationships and breakups but the media called her a slut for having so many boyfriends, that’s where “the man” comes in.
"thr man" is a reference to Madona
That is definitely not where the MAN comes in. The only way they are related is that she was slut-shamed for enjoying her 20’s like a normal 20-yr old, but men aren’t shamed for the same behavior. But other than that, the song had nothing to do with her past boyfriends. Those days mostly ended in 2014. Since then, and 3 albums later, equaling 51 songs..... I can only think of 2 songs that MIGHT be about an ex boyfriend.
If you want something non political I suggest Lover. It’s about her boyfriend of 3 yrs British actor Joe Alwyn.
The funniest part is that you managed to pick her two most controversial and political songs right off the bat! In the past she's been apolitical to a fault
Really liked your discussion of the internet as a tool - it's not inherently bad or good, just a reflection of those using it.
👏👏
In a lot of ways, this song and this video were her political "coming out" - for a very long time, she studiously avoided taking any public political stances, including refusing to endorse any candidate in 2016. But at a certain point, I think she started to realize that staying completely neutral wasn't enough, and so decided to take a big stance.
Danii Decay
Listen to Her song Welcome to New York.
I think she educate herself before start speaking up in politics. Cause knowledge is power
@Danii Decay sure... you know she's young back then right? And still studying. So i think educating herself first is the right choice before she speak up. Cause being ignorant will not help hr or the people she wants to help
@Danii Decay maybe you should listen to her song mean. And watch the music video too. She's been in support of political since 1989 too, not really overnight, maybe it's just you that knew her overnight
@Danii Decay I'm talking about the era not exactly the album 😑
those 2 videos are her most "political" ones she has.
Hey Goofy
You don't owe anyone any explanations for liking the song/video "the man"
yeah lol im kind of confused though like, just because there's other issues that doesn't take away from that video ya weirdo? (the video not u)
true, and isn't there an old saying... "if the shoe fits..." so NOT everyone was offended by it and like you said YOU KNOW people like this THEY exist, now there are also TONS of problems to solve with humanity BUT it is not her job I mean she is talking from her point of view... she IS a woman after all and has experienced some, IF NOT most of the scenarios portrayed in the video at some point (remember the song is directed at how much she was hated, made fun of and criticized as a woman for saying or doing some things that some MEN do and ARE PRAISED for and people say "YOU ARE THE MAN!")
React to her I Did Something Bad her reputation tour performance 🙏
"When is she going to sing about breakups and getting married?"
Me: Ha just you wait
HA that just took her, her 6 first albums hahahaha
The funny thing about children's custody being given to mothers is that even though women were receiving special treatment, it still came from a place of gender inequality and sexism towards mostly women. Because people still believe women should be the only responsible beings in taking care of offsprings lol, even if she isn't that much better than the father, surely she has maternal instincts that make her better, right? But it's good that is changing, definitely an issue to be discussed for sure.
About Taylor Swift, all songs before the Lover era were non political. But you somehow started with the two songs were she decided to say a few words about important things. lol I recommend "all too well".
thats still just kinda saying "oh its still just a womens issue" when overall, its not just that, but because men are never seen as caregivers. My mom works at a daycare and i used to go help. All the kids loved me and so did the parents, except for one pair of mom and dad who said "Why is a man working here, i dont want him around my children" and i was forced to stop helping, even though the staff, kids, and parents did actually like me being there. Apparently they said to the boss about the rate of male sex offenders with children and all that and they werent comfortable with a guy helping out there, but if it was the teachers daughter they wouldve been okay.
@@TheNraveles And why do you think that is? Because women were given the job to stay at home and take care of children and men got the expectation to go out and do some manly work to provide. And now both genders have to live with the sexism that men themselves created for centuries.
Sorry that happened to you, but it doesn't change what I said. Maybe you should invest in going around and educating people that men can clean, cook and take care of children just as well as any women, so maybe after two centuries we will have a more balanced society.
period end him
Maia TC
It’s not just sexism. Try to see it both ways. A lot of sexism still happens to women, but this sexism is still being held by both women and men.
I wouldn’t say try to appeal to everyone, since there are people who generally think that women today have more rights than men, but likewise, you also have to be accepting of men’s problems as well. Otherwise we get nowhere as a society
Please React to "blank Space" By Taylor Swift
Other political songs she has made this era are Miss Americana and the heartbreak prince, and Only the young.
"I'm not really getting into pop music to have a political conversation" *watches YNTCD* 🤣
Pls do more taylor
political? it's not politic it's social activism
Social activism, sure but also political protest proven by the statement at the end of her video calling on people to sign a petition to push forward and support the Equality Act; by definition a political statement.
Unfortunately that's considered politics now, whether we like it or not
#pride😊🌈
As a swiftie, i am so happy for you to be seeing Taylor in such a positive way (honestly there so many haters out there)
Non political? Something she did live acoustically... like the tiny desk!
Or Lover at the BBC Live lounge...
Or Blank Space from Grammy Museum...
I hardly believe that you don’t know more than 3 songs by her. She is the Artist of the decade. Anyways some good performance are Her Artist of the decade performance at the 2019 AMAs, and Her Brit awards 2013 performance.
i didn't know any songs by her until someone recommended i react to the man video, i don't normally listen to pop music or the radio, i've definitely heard a lot of music but none that i'm reacting to lol, thanks so much for the recommendations! :)
Her being a political artist is just this newest album
It's funny how he finds Taylor to be more political than Lady Gaga lol. Taylor used to no be political AT ALL until recently. Whereas Lady Gaga has been political from the very beginning.
You should react to Don’t Blame Me, it’s a great great song
It wuold be awesome if you react to Look What You Made Me Do,... Ready For It?, bad Blood, Out Of The Woods or ME! By Taylor Swift. I loved your reaction 🔥

I may be late but Katy Perry starred in the music video as a way to announce that the Taylor and Katy feud has ended after 7 years
Please react to the videos for Picture To Burn and Should've Said No!
Not really a fan of Taylor swift I only like 2 of her songs. You need to calm down and safe and sound. This song more or less helped me last year during pride month when me and all my friends in the LGBT literally had people steal our pride flag at school and stomp on it and the teachers were just annoyed we were causing drama and that doesnt even get into the homophobic girl that decided to start drama and call me and my friends names and then blame the drama on me
10:37 Jersh react to watch Katy Perry 👏🏽
You should react to lover by taylor
The reason katy perry was in her video is because they both got over a feud with each other. Now you know💖
No audience for T Swift Reactions?! Haha! We’re one of the biggest fandoms. I just now stumbled across your channel but I love your reactions to her! Would love to see you react to folklore/evermore. They’re so good!!
Folklore entire album reaction in one uncut video ad free is over on Patreon, thx for watching I’m glad u enjoy them! :)
Please react to all too well Taylor swift
If you are interested in knowing her better and why she made these political songs, then you can watch the miss americana documentary on Netflix.
the way u laugh... that's funny too
This was the end of the Taylor Swift vs Katy Perry feud, they released a few songs about each other. It had the music industry seperated into 2 crews for a year or so. Katy Perry and Taylor swift being the leaders.
These are a few of their Diss tracks
Katy Perry - swish swish
Taylor Swift - bad blood
Madonna - Bitch I'm Madonna
Being political is new for her. If you want a non political song, you should check out Lover, it also has a music video.
i have another taylor swift coming up within the next few days, thanks for watching and for the suggestions! :)
Yeah no. Most of her music is all about her own experiences with love (mostly), friendships, & family, etc. she hasn’t been very verbal about her opinions on political or social activism issues until the last 2 or 3 years and she said herself that the reason she made this song in particular was because she started hearing that her lgbtq+ fans didn’t feel like she was using her celebrity to be socially active and an ally for them so once she heard that she made this song to kind of say she is an ally and loves her fans of the lgbt+ community. Also I love your surprise when you saw the sign Adam and Eve and realized what the MV was about.
she's only recently become THIS political (like where it overpowers and is the entire subject of a song of hers) with a couple songs from her newest album, lover. her songs are usually more story-based narratives about her life. you should really check out her previous album, reputation. it's easily my favorite album of hers and if u didn't wanna react to the entire album, you should at least check out the music videos from it: look what you made me do, delicate, ready for it, and end game
thx for this info! i'll definitely be checking out more taylor swift in the near future, thanks for watching :)
@@SuperJersh no problem! also, just a disclaimer, most of the music videos from reputation definitely aren't as funny and light hearted like the other two you've checked out ahah they're definitely more on the serious side because of the events that happened to cause that album (the 2016 situation with kanye west). if you're checking out the music videos, i'll give u a little guide to help you choose which ones you might wanna do, if you're only doing some ahah:
look what you made me do = angry
ready for it = the song sounds kinda angry but it's really a love song and the video is just cool
delicate = sad, but also fun and has some funny parts
end game = fun/partying
this is great! feel free to keep recommending reactions just please don't spoil what the songs are about since i try to figure it out (even if i get it wrong i still have fun lol), thx :)
@@SuperJersh okay! if you want you could also react to her song "call it what you want". it only has a lyric video so i understand if you don't want to react to it, but i just thought i'd suggest it anyways because it's my fav song ever and i think it's a really good song to introduce you to her descriptive, personal, and storytelling songwriting
I would say this is more human rights oriented not so much political, as some of her other tracks are. On a side note, totally enjoying your reactions.
React to more recent songs with political / feminist approach like
Ariana Grande - God is a Woman
C. Aguilera and Demi Lovato - Fall In Line
Please react to Lily Allen, she is very funny! Loving your videos!
José Américo Ferro de Carvalho Junior yes!
I bet you got an earful when this reaction came out! Some song recommendations: Taylor Swift - "Bad Blood", Katy Perry - "Wide Awake" & "Part Of Me", Pink - "Stupid Girls", "So What", "U & Ur Hand", "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" & "Please Don't Leave Me" (yeah, I like me some Pink!). I'll stop there for now. Thanks again for the great reactions! You're my new favorite UA-cam artist.
i get an earful with every reaction but luckily i only have one that works and it's busy listening to music 😂😂😂 thx for the suggestions and for watching! :)
@@SuperJersh Sorry, no pun intended! LOL One more suggestion, Bad Wolves "Zombie". Not sure if you're familiar with The Cranberries song, but you really should give this one a try as well.
I like how you take the time to look at the lyrics too! I'd love to see you do something else from her...maybe a live performance?
This one was funny
Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett to record jazz album
React to Lady Gaga - Bang Bang (my baby shot me down)
She's not a political artist...that would be an over statement just because she did one song......
PLEASE react ti billie same interview one year apart vanity fair
The political stuff is fairly new. It’s a bit funny someone convinced her that her genetics are a detriment to her career...
Ok im 4 years late to this reaction.... Im sort of suprised how people are interpreting this song and video. This is not a polital song, it's a song with a large amount of cameos from the LGBTQ community. This is about our gay friends. Our children, sisters, brothers. If you look at this like a political post I'm thinking you need to get a different view in your mind. Yes she is being sarcastic about all the protestors and yes she is recently starting to get involved with politics. but the main point of this song is..... We don't care, we can't hear them, we dont pay attention to the pittiful haters of children who have to hold this very hard secret. They should NOT have to. My best friends son came out a few months ago after bawling uncontrollably. Luckily, if anyone was going to have a gay son it would be my best friend. When his dad walked in on this interaction he told him and John picked him up( a 6'3 14 year old lol) and told him I AM SO EFFING PROUD OF YOU!!! He knew deep down. They fly that flag proudly. She took him to the parade!! Again yes this is about haters of the gay community. If you look at this like that and just shut out the politics for a minute, it is directed at the bible thumpers. "Adam and eve, not adam and steve" not politics, just protestors claiming to be Christians.
I'm just popping in here to recommend you check out Tool's Stinkfist (which you already reacted to) with Taylor Swift vocals. Someone made it work, I think you'll get a kick out of it.
Hmmm.
I agree men were discriminated against in custody situations.
Was it male judges primarily awarding custody to women, or was it primarily male judges?
I think it’s a terrific topic to look at how gender stereotypes hurt ALL genders. How men also become pushed out of spaces, based on male-defined roles.
Sadly, yes, many women in power Also follow patriarchal-defined role setting, and they discriminate based on this as well.
Wait am I just now realizing you’ve never reacted to kpop????
Great reaction!! Love the insight and genuine reaction + comments. Thanks so much for sharing!!!’ Your vids are making me smile through all the craziness going on in the world! Love from Hawai’i. 👍🏽 legit going on a watching spree of your vids. They are great. Keep up the awesome work.
If you like this political commentary you HAVE to react to Born This Way by Lady Gaga ... even back in 2011 she was so progressive and made huge ground for LGBTQ+ advocacy and I would love to see what you think
Katy and Taylor had beef but now they’re friends again and if you take the first letter from burger (b), and the first from French fries (ff), you have BFF :)
Actually in this video is Katy perry with this video they announced that his problems are end ! 😂😂... And in the part of the drag queens is a impersonation of the pop divas Gaga, Adele, Nicky, Etc and she isn't there that is a drag queen the video had important personalities in the LGBTI community
You should react to Born This Way song and video by Gaga because she talked about LGBT rigts back in 2011
I think she’s just fine.
Time person of 2023!
If you had no clue about a mainstream artist singing about equal rights etc. you need to discover Madonna, quick!
Kimbra - Plain Gold Ring (Live at Sing Sing Studios)
I love that he thinks she’s a political artist because he’s listened to the only political songs she’s made (except for OTY)
I just recently found your reactions. Taylor usually does do the breakup and love songs. She became more political this past few years, there is a song that she released (not on any album) called "Only the Young" it is a political song. Great reaction. But remember don't guess to early.
Burger and french fries
BFF
She used the specific group of the LGBT community, but the song can be applied to any group and she used many of the stereotypes for both sides of the argument. I personally don't like when artists get political, but I still liked this video because it was entertaining and although I do not support the LGBT community I do not judge them because it is not my place to judge them. It will be up to God to decide if they did anything wrong.
About the stereotype thing, most people paint the LGBT community as some sort of weird and monstrous individuals. So she's showing what it feels like to be on the receiving end of prejudice and misrepresentation of who they are. So, if anyone is offended by it, then I have no respect for that kind of hypocrisy.
I mean we can tell you the whys but if we did, you got to drive in deep which are you ready for ?
She is not a political activist who sings, but lately she has gotten into making a voice for herself. Standing up for basic civil rights. A lot of her fans are gay and she felt hypocritical for not speaking out in support of them. This is discussed in her documentary Miss Americana. It is on Netflix. To learn a bit more, it is well worth the view of it. It’s actually very very good and opened Sundance film festival. I wouldn’t call her an activist but lately she has made her political views known and she is speaking out for what she thinks is right.
Haha I’m sure people have already said it in the comments, But she has about 5-10 political songs in a career of over 200 songs. I personally love that she made them, but overall she’s not a political artist. She actually forced herself to stay out of it for like the first whole decade of her career
I don’t think Taylor is saying the people who are hating are like what people would call “hicks or white trash.” I believe she is saying that kind of thinking is ignorant, which I agree with her! Nice reactions!
It is annoying that everything that you support involve politics
Just about the parent’s custody thing, it was indeed sexist but not because it “favored” the mom. It was quite the opposite. It was because the child was seen as the mom’s responsibility and not the father’s. Because it came from the idea that the woman who takes care of the house and the kids, and the men are supposed to give the money. But we all know it was only because that was a excuse to most men to not take part in the child’s life. It is sexist but it goes so far deeper than being in “favor” of the mom. It comes from the reality that when women get pregnant, society only judges her and the dad can disappear but she has to carry The Whole responsibility for a two action.
The political side is very recent and came from a lot of backlash from not being political and staying silent on a lot of things. I think mainly because she came from country music and has a large conservative fan base. Regardless, I still like that she’s listening to what people want to see from her. I just think it’s a bit funny/sad that people got mad because she stayed silent and now they get mad that she is more political.
I’ve always been pretty neutral on her but I love how she addresses the vitriol in this song/video.
Why are you kinda bothered that she makes some political songs? If you have a platform then use it for good and to send a good message for a more equal world. That’s what she did.
Donald Trump had attacked her in tweets at bizarre hours of the night .
Underrated reaction 🙌🏼
On the szene with Ru Paul all of the 'girls that all got crowns' are dragqueens.
Great reaction buddy! Sorry people were mean in the last video, we swifies are usually pretty inclusive but some can get a little much. Sorry bro ❤
Try to react to some songs from her 1989 album or her repuation album
You should react to Rina Sawayama. Great numetal pop :)
Lady Gaga is political, too. You should listen to Born This Way
LOVE IS LOVE 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Tay Tay !!!
