Rescues are full of these wonderful birds, neglected, abandoned, and thrown out by inexperienced and most uneducated people that didn't know the kind of work and commitment it takes to have birds. STOP UNNECESSARY BIRD BREEDING FOR PROFIT, and help these magnificent creatures.
If you are unable to adopt then please consider donating to a rescue/sanctuary that volunteers their time to help these animals in need. 💚
I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they've seen in other birds. ❗️No two parrots are alike...
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.
They deserve the absolute best!
So if you are interested in a parrot, please research, volunteer at a parrot rescue/sanctuary, KNOW what you're getting yourself into before you take on the work that comes with loving and homing a parrot.
Parrots are a LIFETIME commitment. They can live up to 80+ years!!
I've given up many many things to give my two parrots the best life they can possibly have! (Night out, gone on weekends, vacation time, a clean quiet house, extra money.. Etc.)
But to me it's all worth it, my parrots are my family and I love them like my children!
Please DO YOUR RESEARCH before adopting.
After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies...
They only have us💗❗️❗️
All of his head bobbing and head shaking while he's talking kills me. It's like he is trying to emphasize the importance of what he's saying.
And the movement of the beak is sooo funny too! Their body language is very similar to a human being, a very animated one... 😂
I felt like he was maybe trying to say that he doesn’t understand why everyone else in the house - even the dog, all get to roam freely around the house, wherever & whenever they want to go (& that he should also be allowed to walk around freely all the time, too; but that he has to stay locked up in his (relatively) tiny cage sometimes?😢
Either that or he could be telling her he’s lonely when no one’s at home or asking why no one else ever talks to him besides her?☹️🤔

What an amazing bird. He has 2 distinct personalities. One is like a very young sweet autistic child who needs constant reasurance. Just happy go lucky. With a very loveable personality. Who loves and wants to be around the members of his flock. The other is a very sophisticated and grown up man. Who knows exactly whats going on and is able to articulate his thoughts and feelings vocally. He can be short and to the point this personality comes forward in times of stress. This is classic split personality. What ever abuse that he endured was so great it shattered his mind to protect himself he created this other personality. This one was strong and the opposite of his main one. Its not helpless and its able to deal with stress. This beautiful bird created this so that he might protect himself from the abuse that he had to deal with. Ive seen it in humans. But a bird! What an amazing bird he is. Incredibly smart. He is a survivor. What a great mother and team you and your flock make.
You can almost feel his relief. "Thank's for listening, Mom!"

There is just something about his sweet little face and his innocent eyes, he's so adorable!!! And the things he says are hillarious... I love you Gotcha ❤

Gotcha The Cockatoo Well I hope he helped... You take such good care of all of your pets. Thank you for sharing with us. Its amazing to see "the shoe on the other foot" as Gotcha tried to care of you...even more so that you caught it on video. Dogs do the same...but Gatcha can vocalize his intentions making it that much sweeter.

@@RepentfollowJesus These birds seem to mostly be mumbling and then saying phrases and words they heard or hear a lot. We can hear what we want in the mumblings but I don't think much of it has intrinsic meaning to the bird. The bird doesn't have knowledge of what all the phrases mean. Gotcha clearly has no clue what the internet is or what instagram means. But it is fascinating to listen to them talk.

Hello, I've been watching Gotcha for some time now. I have conures but I ended up getting a M2 I rescued his name is Mr. Peach he was in bad condition but alot of medicine and seeing the doctor the kid is doing better. His condition was really bad the doctor asked me a bunch of questions it was that messed up. It's going on a year I had him this summer. But hes so fully of life now and he has a chance of being a normal bird. Thank you an God bless you an your family.
So proud of you that you did such an amazing job for an animal. Respect! I personally would do the same. I love animals more than human ❣ God bless you ❣

Its sooo good to see Gotcha. I missed him terribly. I hear the bed rats are still with us. I heard several things. I think he saw a mob hit. And then ate chicken. Heard something about a dead Mexican and 4 dead rats so I think someone ratted on them and got paid back. Somewhere in there he said I've got so much to say. He also mentioned shrimp and lobster. I'll have to listen more. He is adorable. I see he got a green feather tattoo on his wing. What a bird. Love you guys. At the end I think he said I had a grandson.

I absolutely love him! I grew up around birds and had several myself. They are amazing animals and very smart. I would go to school and mine would holler Amber, Amberrrr where are you! My mom would say shes at school and he would go nooooo. He eventually passed away and I haven't had one since but I hope to eventually get one so my girls can experience how WONDERFULLY amazing they are!!!

No they dont. Never put large and small birds together. I've worked in an exotics pet shop, was a vet tech, studied avian medicine on my own and have had many parrots. One was an Umbrella cockatoo like Gotcha but a tiny bit smaller and not a lot of peach. Gotcha is a Mollucan. I also have had cockatiels and conures. I wouldn't let a small bird within 10 feet of a cockatoo. You have no idea the amount of pressure they have in their beaks. Plus the bottom is very sharp. I think my rescue 'too had been kicked before . He was very docile and wanted on me, under my chin with his wing raised for me to pet him under it. Well my loving angel of a bird caught me barefoot one day and grabbed my toe next to my big toe out of the blue. I knew better than to jerk away so I just sat with tears rolling down my face and put my hand down and asked him to step up. He did thankfully. It felt like sharp pliers being squeezed by a human really hard. I put him back in his cage, went in the bathroom and cried my eyes out and took care of my toe. From then on I wore tennis shoes. Socks still caught his attention. I rescued a Mollukan once from a pet store where he had been terrorized by children throwing a basketball at his cage daily. He eventually had to be given away. He was too far gone to handle. They put out 100 times more feather dust than a cockatiel also.
Such a funny lil guy, I love his little side-shuffle when he walks.
