The Flintstones is an animated, prime-time American television sitcom that was broadcast from September 30, 1960 to April 1, 1966 on ABC. The show was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions.
The Flintstones was about a working-class Stone Age man's life with his family and his next-door neighbour and best friend. The show's continuing popularity rested heavily on its juxtaposition of modern everyday concerns in the Stone Age setting.
The show is set in the Stone Age town of Bedrock. (In some of the earlier episodes, it was also referred to as "Rockville".) In this fantasy version of the past, dinosaurs, saber-toothed tigers, woolly mammoths, and other long-extinct animals co-exist with cavemen.
Like their mid-20th century counterparts, these cavemen listen to records, live in split-level homes, and eat out at restaurants, yet their technology is made entirely from pre-industrial materials and largely powered through the use of animals. For example, the cars are made out of stone, wood, and animal skins, and powered by the passengers' feet (as in the theme song, "Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet").
I was 6 years old when the Flintstones came out. I'm 69 now and whenever I hear the theme song, I'm 6 again and lovin' my favorite cartoon. Thank you Hanna-Barbera for so much enjoyment by so many of us!

This show reminds me of my grandfather. He’s a big fan of this show. When I was seven years old, my mom would usually go to grandpa’s house on Saturdays, and I will always watch the Flintstones in the living room. Grandpa also has a figure of woodman from mega man and a rare silver gun. I love this show with my heart ever since. Thank you, grandpa Joel. 💙

I disagree, cartoons that use limited animation as a cost-cutting technique are just imitations in my opinion. That isn't to say that limited animation is bad on it's own, but if it's used purely to create low-quality garbage like this for cheap, then that's what I'd call a fraud.

Back in the day when there was real good cartoons
I remember this, when I was about 6/0r 7 years old! the year is 1969 up to the early part of 70’s, every time my mother served breakfast in our house in manila, I always ask my mother to open our black & white t.v set to watch “flintstone” and this is exactly the opening & closing theme!

After getting out of the Army in the early ‘60’s I took a job as a draftsman. Just like Fred Flintstone my bossman’s name was Mr Slate! (well actually Mr Sleight)
The Flintstones are by now, they aired in primetime on ABC in the late 1960s, on NBC on Saturday mornings in the late 1960s and early 1970s and again in the early 1980s, aired in syndicated repeats on various broadcast network stations across the United States, aired on cable TV on TBS, WGN, USA Network, TNT, Cartoon Network, MTV (for a 2 day run in 1994), Boomerang, MeTV and currently MeTV Toons.
Just a moment I felt like using a time machine.

The quitting time sound effect was originally a bird squawking before replacing it with a train whistle
People also forget the original opening before Pebbles was born where Fred stops at the time clock to clock out. Then the second one where he runs into the house to pick up Pebbles and run back out with Wilma, Dino and Baby Puss in tow.

In the closing credits, I never understood why Fred didn't just go through the window to get back in the house, like the cat did. Granted, banging on the door and (apparently) waking up the neighborhood was funnier, but it just never made sense to me. (And no, I don't normally go this deep into meaning in a cartoon.)
