Make way for the modern Stone Age family as they make the jump from animated favorites to live-action heroes! There's trouble brewing in Bedrock: a test mix-up has made Fred Flintstone (John Goodman) a vice president at Slate & Company, and now an evil executive (Kyle MacLachlan) and his sinister secretary (Halle Berry) are plotting to use Fred as the fall guy in an embezzlement scheme. Luckily for Fred, his best friend Barney Rubble (Rick Moranis), wife Wilma (Elizabeth Perkins) and her best friend Betty (Rosie O'Donnell) always have the big guy’s back in this yabba-dabba-doo of an adventure! Elizabeth Taylor co-stars in the “Steven Spielrock” production filled with dino-sized special effects and classic Flintstones humor.

The casting was flawless in this movie… John Goodman brought so much justice to Fred Flintstone
@Zombie Hunter Wrong
He embodied Fred Flintstone and Pops Racer.
I wouldn't say flawless. Looks at Rosy O'Donnell as Betty.
@@andrewpotts Agreed unfortunately.
@@andrewpotts that was at least better than Rick Moranis as Barney. Sure, he was the right height, but everything else was meh. Especially Barney being portrayed as smarter than Fred.
John Goodman was perfect for Fred Flintstone.
& Babe Ruth as well
Yes, he is.
Couldn't agree more
Agreed
I agree.
"THAT'S IT. WHERES MY CLUB, WILMA?" 😂😂
John Goodman & Rick Moranis were the perfect live action versions of Fred Flintstone & Barney Rubble.
Yeah, not Rick. Nothing against the actor, but seriously, what was that casting? Were Jim Belushi, John Candy (yes, I know he died March 1994, but filming began in August 1993), Jon Lovitz, Joe Pesci , or Dan Aykroyd unavailable?
In my opinion the casting except for John Goodman could had been better.
Rick Moranis was ok as Barney but Joe Pesci would had been perfect as Barney especially because of his short height and voice.
Catherine O'Hara would had made a great Wilma Flintstone.
And even though she might had been too young for the role Ally Sheedy would had made a good Betty Rubble.
In my version this would be the modern cast everyone would want
Mark Ruffalo isn’t fat but he looks like John Goodman and he needs to play Fred
Paul Rudd has heart and cracks me up as Ant-Man so this is why I want him as Barney
Omg Rachel McAdams is soo hot I picture her as Wilma
And Selena Gomez I don’t care if she’s young she looks like Betty from The Flintstones
@Shaun James P. Sullivan and Wayne Szalinski.
@@osmanyousif7849 They apparently originally planned it to be Danny DeVito. Honestly, I like Moranis in the role.
…”Smokey, this is not 'Nam. This is bowling. There are rules!”.
Mark it zero
“Son, have you ever been to Vietnam?”
I understood that reference XD
@@SpencerDignan ....Its a league game smokey.
OVER THE LINE!!!
The sets and wardrobe in this movie is astonishing.
The movie that oozes cheesy 90’s comedy….. I love it :)
Well it has the 60's classic cartoon and the 90's comedy which the 2000's can't match.
Wouldn’t say that 90s comedy was cheesy. Nowadays comedy is more cheesy
@@nsasupporter7557 Is it really cheesy or just SJW control lately?
Not even cheesy , just too wholesome for the real world
@@night-x6793 Lol in every single comment section of every old comedy movie clip there's ALWAYS someone complaining about SJWs. The comedy lull happening right now is just a mainstream phase, it happens.
The Casting for this film was absolutely Perfect
The only miscast is rosie o'donnell
@@kanjixp1761 debatably speaking, yes, but at least she gave a fun portrayal to he character with sense that she was having fun with the role in a fitted way, right?
@@kanjixp1761 true, but she did nail the voice and laugh.
No offense to Elizabeth Taylor but she looked nothing like the cartoon version of Wilma’s mother Doris Roberts would’ve been a better choice
The little twinkle toes sound effect is golden 😂😂😂 such a classic 90s movie
While keeping the old 60s cartoon sound fx intact
All the practical effects and props really made this movie. What a gem
It actually looks like a functional Stone Age version of modern life.
Yeah! I wanna see another one in the movie theatre!
No wonder since the practical effects were created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop and the CGI effects by Industrial Light and Magic.
They have some structures still in California Universal tour! They are made of Styrofoam inside!
1994 was a good year, in the beginning of this clip made me think of Ren & Stimpy 🎶😁
Yes, eeerily similar music score
@@tylerseverance5789 The fact that the B-52s (or BC-52s as they’re called here) were involved with this movie, they provided the theme music to Ren & Stimpy as well. It’s that show’s theme music being used here too.
Such a good movie.
Sure is
I think the same.
lol
“A great human being. No offense to you guys.”

Was genius isn't it?
"You've got your hands full when you scratch your neck!" 😂😂😂😂😂
4:05 THAT’S IT, WHERE’S MY CLUB WILMA?
"Come on, twinkle toes."😀
Absolutely without a doubt. John Goodman was absolutely perfect for Fred Flintstone and Elizabeth Taylor was wonderful playing Wilma’s mother kudos to both of them
4:19 You got your hands full when you "SCRATCH YOUR NECK!!!"
3:37 “Tar pits back up again?”
OOOOHHH!!! Flintstones-equivalent to septic tanks. 🤣🤣🤣
“You got your hands full when you scratch your neck!”
Fred Flintstone and Rolf from Ed Edd & Eddy need to have a roast off
Fred is John Goodman Great Character Of the live Action Real People Great Movie
Underrated movie
3:16 Fred Flintstone did the “Home Alone Slip” (Gag) when he slipped on pebbles toy car. I was 3 years old in 1994 when this came out 😊

I love it when I see the “hear no evil see no evil speak no evil” reference!

I wish there were sequels to this with the same cast. It was perfection.
Except most of the cast aged since this movie came out 30 years ago.
Best anyone can do is voice acting since John Goodman did voiced Sully in Monsters INC.
Yup! Except Rosie O Donnell
Hanna-Barbera left Universal Pictures after its failed sequel.
i remember being a kid watching this in theaters. i actually dont hate this movie but thats probably because i liked it as a kid. but when i heard of a prequel that came out years later and it was a different cast i had no interest. and looking at how people liked this movie (they really didnt) i can see why it was a flop.
@@Rlotpir1972You mean the prequel 'Viva Rock Vegas'?
Watching a few of these clips, it seems this movie is packed with things I missed as a kid. "Lambs, Oxen, your brother Jerry". 😅
You are so right cyborgparrot and Shaun, Both John Goodman and Rick Moranis was the perfect Fred flinstone and Barney Rubble for this movie, this movie was a blast when it came out in 1994!
You got your hands full when you scratch your neck lmao Goodman you kill me lol
BURN!!!!!
"What has he ever provided you besides shade?!"
Holy crap, I totally forgot about this line and now I can't stop laughing XD
And Wilma's mom proceeds remind Wilma of how much her father sacrificed for her. Lambs and oxen and her brother Jerry.
This is My Favorite Part of The Movie Where Barney Giving a Touching, Heartwarming Speech About His Best Friend Ever and Fred Was So Emotional About It, I Loved That Part
It's Bowling Time!!! 😃🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳
The music played from outside the bowling ally sounds like the theme song from _Ren and Stimpy._
The Guitar Music sounds like Elvis Presley.🙂
Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought that lol.
i always noticed that too!
I noticed that too when I was growing up and upon further research,It's actually a variation of that theme.
Perhaps the greatest movie mankind has ever made
🤣🤣👌
Can’t argue with that. 😊
This was THE BEST MOVIE of this year and my lifetime. I was born in ‘87 and watched this movie as a young child and loved it. The cast was perfect and couldn’t have been any better.
1994 for me.😁
I was born in 1991 so I got to watch it on VHS and I absolutely loved this movie, I still do years later.
I remember us getting our copy of it on VHS from McDonald's back when they ran promotions and actually sold movies. Got introduced to Flintstones, Back to the Future, Wayne's World, Addams Family, and Jurassic Park that way.
I was born in 1992
I was born in 1989
This was one of many VHS tapes I wore out as a kid
It always pays to have backup tapes while subscribing to cable pay channels like HBO.
THAT'S IT!!! WHERE'S MY CLUB, WILMA?!?!
FRED AND HIS MOTHER IN LAW, A HEART AND A SOUL 😂😂😂😂😂
This is how you make a live movie adaptation of a cartoon..
Whatever you love or hate this movie you cannot deny John Goodman was born to play Fred Flintstone!
wish we had a live action jetsons
No one hates this movie
Be cool if John Goodman voice over Sir Topham Hatt in a Robot Chicken spoof!

Yes, his voice is perfect for that.

The whole Flinstones film was really accurate with the cartoon series the movie is still amazing I love it.
It was the 90s. Hollywood was putting out great movie after great movie. Same with the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
The movie stays true to the animated TV series it's based on & then some.
Love it or hate it, the practical sets and effects throughout this movie are amazing

Immaculate casting. The 90s had some seriously classic underappreciated movies!

Funny that years later John Goodman was in the big lebowski and in that movie there’s a scene in the bowling alley lol
John Goodman still looks good for his age, nice dad bod...
Thank you whoever invented shoes & motorized vehicles with seat belts & airbags, I'm pretty sure none of us can't cope with living in prehistoric times before technology.
really a crime that such films are no longer made.
The sets alone there shows so much love and hard but good work that pays off and gives a film a world that feels realistic. It's completely different with the current CGI films, where they all look the same now.
Such good actors for films that are not an Oscar drama or summer blockbuster like Marvel and co. play and make an effort to give a good performance and don't just see it as a quick cash grab like everyone else who doesn't work on the two types of films mentioned today. Of course there are exceptions like Cage, but the exceptions only confirm the rule.
I'm working in vfx and my brain can't stop calculating how much vfx would be thrown at this now a days.....this is art
This brings back alot of memories...as a child I wanted to visit Bedrock to drink a that giant cup of what I thought was soda and get play with the dinosaurs...those were the days
What wuz that if not soda?
@ForsakenWolf1 That was supposed to be a Giant Mug of Beer.
@@shutterbug_713 to me it looked like a Barrel of Cold Water and Suds.
@@shutterbug_713 It was beer. Fred asked Barney if he wanted a cold one.
"Barney you‘re out of your element!"
Man, I've must have watched this movie a gazillion time when I was a kid back at my grandpas house :)
I really have to watch this again as an adult now that I'm fluent in English, I really remember enjoying it the first time.
I will say one thing for the Flintstones, they kept all kinds of creatures in gainful employment.
Too bad none of ‘em got paid for it.
@@SulliMike23 Whaaa whaaa whaaaaaaaaaa *spolink*!
"It's a living"
Bowling is Fred Flintstone's specialty.
The cast is freaking perfect for this movie
"Is the Earth flat?"😂
Honestly, that inspired me to use that to people who ask certain questions to me. For years, my mom has had me use a shredder to shred paper. And one day, in my senior year in high school, she asked me "Do you know how to use a shredder?" I didn't know why she asked me that after all the other times she had me shred paper. So when she asked me that question, I responded with "Is the Earth round?" My mom was confused at first after I said that.
That music that is playing was used as the theme song on Ren and Stimpy. I realized that just now while watching it. I live finding things like that in movies.
The music at the beginning of the clip.
I watched the movie when I was 13 years old. And still love it :).
4:19
You get your hands full when you *SCRATCH YOUR NECK!!!*
John Goodman and Mark Addy both played Fred brilliantly, but Goodman will always be my favourite 😁😁
John Goodman did say he had no interest in reprising the role as Fred, so producer Steven Spielberg didn’t give up on making another Flintstones movie. So he made it a prequel instead.
Anybody else catch the name of the man who invented the wheel " Elliott Firestone" hahaha 😆🤣😅😂
4:25 I like how Fred tries too look proud lol
Very nostaglic and fun movie. Screw the haters.
Nobody ever mentions how John Goodman looks so strong back in the day.
Yep. Those arms he had were thick as boulders.
He can even do the twinkle toes toss from the animated series.
Yeah I totally agree. He looked really buff back in the day
I love the set design of the movie, looks just like the cartoon
3:48 Causal racism.😂
4:19 that burn is gonna require an Ice Age!
Fred and Barney go bowling all the time
that’s what they do since they’re bowlers
Wow, way to roll that joke out
@@boyscouts83712 thanks
"When I think of all the sacrifices your father made for you: lamb, oxen,... your brother Jerry."
Holy shit that's a dark joke that completely went over my head as a kid.
Caveman Politics.
Explanation please
@@Scoobydude-qp5mt it's a dark joke because The Flintstones are usually family-friendly. So the idea of a family member getting sacrificed would be scary hearing that in the Flintstones. However, Flintstones did take place during cavemen time for they believe sacrifice would bring good fortune. Making the joke funny for adults. And as messed up as it sounds kids don't usually care when they hear somebody gets killed on TV show. It's why Batman the Animated Series was able to get away with so much Death.
@@Shanethefilmmaker oh ok
I was looking through the comments to see if anyone else acknowledged it LOL 😂

Imagine if that movie was on Peacock.
God this movie needs a sequel well most of the cast is still alive there is still time
I agree. But the two masterminds behind the cartoon (who made cameos in the movie) are no longer with us. In fact, Joe Barbera was still alive when both Scooby Doo live action movies were released.

I was never a fan of the Flintstones, but I cannot deny the perfect casting. I don’t see John Goodman and Rick Moranis I truly see Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble.
