I'm proud to have the Mornington Peninsula at my doorstep. St Andrews Beach is the best hidden gem for those visiting and a beer at the brewery afterwards is the cherry on top. Thrilled to have Melbourne golf courses showcased, awesome work Erik!
Dale Fairless - Absolutely! I can almost guarantee that once they finally get the go-ahead to properly develop the site, those green fees will be significantly increasing!
I played The Dunes when it was only 9 holes and the clubhouse a glorified tin shed. Amazing to see how it and the entire Peninsula has developed since. Great vid as always. Cheers
Great views and gorgeous courses. Funny story we were on the golf course yesterday and found a vice ball hanging out. I told the wife that you use those balls and so she wanted to hit it. It was headed towards the water and she screamed “oh no, ERIK”. It was a great ball and felt awesome to hit
Long time subscriber. The other day I was asked to play St Andrews next Monday so I started searching for any youtube videos I could find on it but no good ones. Pretty funny that a few days later this video comes out, love the content mate
So crazy to see you playing courses in the area where I grew up! The approach to the punch bowl green on the 3rd hole at St Andrews is my favourite I have ever played.
ayoyyoy - I still remember the first time I ever played that hole a good 5 years ago, coming around the corner and seeing the dunes framing the green... Cracking hole!
So cool to think you came down to where I grew up. Some great courses on the Peninsula, really glad you got to experience them and show the world just how good they are!
Played with peter Crocker (natural golf) on the the dunes course there. Such a great experience. Took a heli from there to 13th dune. One of the best days of my life! So cool to see it again!
Great place for a golf holiday, but we have many more around this great land. Regarding golf membership, Im Lucky to be a member of two clubs. One is a snotty nosed, but awesome course were I go to play golf for the purity of the course design and the second is were I've played for 20 years and have many friends and enjoy the company while playing golf.
When you've finished playing the 15+ great sand belt courses on the Mornington Peninsula side, catch the ferry over to the Bellarina Peninsula side for another 5-10 great courses. Barwon Heads is a stand out along with 13th Beach and Lonsdale Links. Southern Victoria is a golf heaven.
If there any positives we as Golf fans cans take out of this COVID-19 'real time golf enforced sabbatical', its the fact that we get to enjoy these 'fabulous' catch-up vlogs from your Golfing adventures. Great stuff EAL, I wonder what else your have to pull out of your adventures in golf archives.
I’ve only been playing for a couple of years and fortunate to live close to these courses. I’m yet to play any of them. National is out of reach but The Dunes and St Andrews Beach need to go onto the must play soon list. I’m happy to see that you had a great time here in Victoria. Great video ⛳️🏌️♂️👍🏻😉
Erik!!!!!! You need to stop travelling the world and showing us these wonderful places!!! My dream golf passport can't get any bigger!! All joking aside, thank you for what you do. Excellent videos, great personalities in my opinion, the dream.
I believe the National Golf Club is where my cousin held her wedding reception a few years back. Got to just look out to the courses as the sun set, was absolutely unreal.
Another great vid. National is a good track, but for the green fee, which i didn't have to pay, i would not play there. Moonah is way better. My opinion of course :)
Not overly surprising that courses are seeing huge drops in memberships. In this day and age as life only gets more and more expensive and the population gets older, clubs need to adapt to the way people live their lives. Pretty hard to part with thousands of dollars to be part of a mid tier or high tier club that impose a lot of rules and regulations on their members (including how many times you have to play a year WTF?), when you can hit up a pub course for less than $100, wear pretty much what you want (with reason) and have a laugh and a hit with your friends. Golf is an amazing game, it really is, but there is still a lot of outdated practices involved with it that need to change.
it's still seen as a bit of a rich old mans game and I'm sure the equipment costs are a turn off for new players. Like a new driver costing more than the bloody car I'm driving ffs lol
@@28russ haha yeah then there is that side too. You can def get an afforable pair of clubs without needing to spend 1000s on one driver too! Just like any sport you can get cheap gear but doesnt mean it will necessarily last the distance.
Not sure about limits on playing, i can play my course as much and as often as i please. we are 40 minutes from St Andrews and the National and some great other tracks, really luck to live around here
@@MrJamesohh Yeah ya can pick up 2nd sets pretty cheap or even beginner sets. I got a set of Dunlop cavity backs for about $150 au (half price). The drivers a piece of crap but other than that they go alright for cheapies but I feel like someone looking to get into it might not realise ya can go cheap and be instantly put of when they see the price of new equipment.
Private club memberships are down be cause CC's are a waste of fucking money. I spend less than a 1K a year golfing at all different courses, so why the fuck would I drop 3-20K a year? Its just flushing money down the fucking toilet. The best part is, I can smoke 99% of the country clubbers blindfolded.
The National is the epitome of stuffy upper class golf clubs and would rather play the dunes any day of the week. The National is what I hate about golf
I’m playing St. Andrews Beach this Saturday because The Dunes was fully booked 😂 my two favourite courses, The Dunes is everything that’s great about golf; St. Andrews is an amazing course, but you might need a cuddle after playing there. Also, you absolutely butchered the pronunciation of Gunnamatta...
The National is my home course but I’ve been stuck in the Uk for the last two years. This made me terribly homesick. Great footage Erik.

No better way to start the day than an EAL vid!
love the slo-mo of Stuart's scrutty worm-burner :)
Lucky to be born and bred on the peninsula! Golf and wine life!
I played The Dunes when it was only 9 holes and the clubhouse a glorified tin shed. Amazing to see how it and the entire Peninsula has developed since. Great vid as always. Cheers
Lucky me, my "backyard" living in SE Melbourne. 1. St Andrews Beach 2. Moonah Links Open 3. The Dunes
Love the golf course vids just broke 85 for the first time today
All the talk of fun and then that energetic edit of St Andrews Beach got me sooo amped to get out there!!
Fantastic story, may I ask how were you able to play the course? Been a dream of mine over in Geelong
Long time subscriber. The other day I was asked to play St Andrews next Monday so I started searching for any youtube videos I could find on it but no good ones. Pretty funny that a few days later this video comes out, love the content mate
Mate. You need to put Tassie on your map. Not only is it part of Australia it’s also home to some of the best golf in the country.
So crazy to see you playing courses in the area where I grew up! The approach to the punch bowl green on the 3rd hole at St Andrews is my favourite I have ever played.

Tough hole...looong par 4 :I

Great video as usual!! Thanks for showing the beauty of Australia!!

I can’t imagine how long this would take to edit. Great work Erik!

I had no idea how much I needed cheesy Stuart golf poses to a synth-pop soundtrack in my life. More of this, please.
Makes me want to head back home to Oz for a golfing holiday! 👍🏼
The funky beats at St. Andrews Beach is too good!
Another great vid Erik ... the peninsula is just a Mecca for golfers ... played most of them
Cheers
these courses look amazing.
Great video. I live so close and must check out the Dunes and St Andrews beach...amazing
Loving this. How many more Australian courses are there that you've filmed
The view from the old clubhouse at The National was epic!
It's a shame the beers out of that brewery are average, at best.
Up the road from our place :) The Peninsula is the best place to play golf!
yes please.
Perfect timing! I'm playing there in 4 hours hahaha. Any tips?
love it mate, thanks for the vid

What mic do you use for voice overs?

It’s an extraordinary place. The Old Course up the hill is truly phenomenal land. Just enormous slopes and incredible views.
Great sound track, what’s playing?
Awesome video!!
The Doak really reminds me of Streamsong Blue... Looks like he took all the best parts of the Blue course and transferred it here.
The hit at 10:23. I felt that.
what is the song around that time-stamp....hoowee
They haven't built the par 3 course yet.
17:08 was brutal. I feel you Stu
I can't believe nobody made the "EAL ALE" joke at the brewery
Another great vid. National is a good track, but for the green fee, which i didn't have to pay, i would not play there. Moonah is way better. My opinion of course :)
Thumbnail….where is Tasmania?
have you moved to Australia for good? because I wouldn't be mad
Absolutely Hilarious !!!! O that was great !!!
That dense brush around greens looks scary....
I wish I was the “worlds guest” .. maybe one day when I grow up ..
Erik Anders Lager anyone? 2:05
You’ll have to join our Tour de Peninsula next time you’re you’re here and we can do a couple of four balls mate

I’ll tell you what Pete dye doesn’t make fun to play courses. I am convinced he actually hated golf and golfers alike. 😁
Another Bute!!
Wow, I'm early

Yeah, but at the same time, if I had the cash I’d be joining haha
